Anyone know any besides Canadian Eh? That has you pay in Canadian funds. With the exchange rate going crazy at times I need an alternate source for my dipes. it is just to expensive sometimes after you figure in the exchange and everything. Thanks!

I don't know about diapers, but for wool in Cdn $: I just got a custom order for four pairs from little green viking on hyenacart - they are AWESOME! The wool blend is gorgeous, thick and soft, and the fit is amazing - and Sigrid's customer service is fantastic. I got them on a black friday sale so it was something crazy like $35 per pair including shipping (amazing considering our shipping costs, thank you canada post!). They are excellent value even at regular price ($40cdn, I think, plus shipping). I like them as much as my sbish! Highly recommended.

Naturally Baby sells Monkey Doodlez in Cdn $ but don't really like how much they charge for shipping. Their shipping charges are way too high IMO. I like to search for "seconds" type of diapers on Hyenacart. Most of the time, there's nothing wrong with them...just some minor stitching defects and you get a perfectly good diaper for cheaper than the regular price even factoring in the exchange rate. I've got a few embroidered pocket diapers that way - very cute.

Can you maybe pm me and lmk when you switch to CAD? Would love to support more Canadian mamas but with the exchange and the additional shipping (in US funds too of course! ugh) I have looked at your link and your diapers look really nice can't wait to see what new fabrics you have ordered. :)

Anyone check out the boxing day sale at Bububebe in Hyenacart? Their diapers are listed in USD but it's all 15-25% off. Looks like some decent diapers similar in designs to Goodmama/Piddle Poddles.

I bought 3yds of bamboo fabric from Naturally Baby a couple weeks ago and was charged $8.50 for shipping - and it arrived with $8.31 postage on it. Canada Post is SO expensive, I'm pretty sure she's charging fairly close to exact shipping, and her policies state that she refunds anything over $1.50 if the actual shipping was lower than what she charged (she also eats the first $1.50 if she under quotes for shipping).
I heard that Canada Post was introducing a small packet option in the new year which would be cheaper for within-Canada shipping. It'd be nice, since I've always shopped across the border because when the dollars were on par, it was more expensive to buy Canadian!

For small Canadian etailers and stores - you should REALLY explore the pricing options from Canpar, Fedex and other "courier" type carriers for parcel delivery in Canada.
With the new Canada Post rates going into effect this month, small packets are going to only get more expensive. As someone who ships to family out of province on a regular basis, I've found my savings are substancial when using Canpar or Fedex Ground OVER Canada Post. Seeing as these couriers offer volume discount (even if you only ship 2-5 packages a week) - it might be another way to intice your customers to shop online.

I am on a congo on HC so don't have the option of using Canadian dollars directly. I will however prepare invoices in CDN funds if a Canadian customer wants that. My exchange rate will be better than paypal. :)

I find that too, all my prices are in Canadian dollars, and I have to charge quite a bit for shipping (although I do refund if there's a $2 or more difference). There is a Canada Post option called Venture one, I think, for businesses. It's free to sign up, but don't really know if it makes a big difference. Apparently, it's only good for parcels?

It is expensive to ship in Canada and it's so frustrating!! Why buy from a Canadian mama who charges $5 shipping when an American mama can get it here for $3 shipping, you know?

To support a Canadian mama like your self. Also that $3.00 shipping is actually more depending on exchange rate, and can take up to 14 business day to arrive. The $5.00 shipping is much cheaper than actual cost and will get to you in under 7 days. Don't get me wrong I love supporting all WHAM reguardless of there location. JMO:goodvibes:

No no! I agree, I was playing Devil's Advocate. I'm saying that I can understand why a lot of Canadian mamas would prefer to buy from Americans.
Why would an American mama buy from a Canadian one though?

I know how frustrating it is to pay the cdn shipping fees. In our online store I try to keep the price as low as I can, however it is still high. We absorb alot in shipping fees every month though, they are probably one our biggest expense recouping less than 50% of what we pay in shippings overall. So we are definitely not profiting from the shipping fees we charge.
