My 8 month old recieved these blocks (http://www.target.com/Battat-ABC-ARCHITEC-ARTHITECT-BLOCKS/dp/B001E2LL24/ref=sc_ri_1?ie=UTF8&pf_rd_r=15T0JNY9FTC8STE297Q7&pf_rd_p=465348991&pf_rd_i=B000HCX5EE&pf_rd_s=bottom-11&pf_rd_m=A1VC38T7YXB528&pf_rd_t=201)marketed by Parents for Christmas. They smell really chemically. Since DD puts everything in her mouth, I'm wondering if these are healthy for her to be chewing on? Anyone know what these are made of or know of any websites that might be of help? I think she would have a lot of fun with them, but right now I'm on the verge of taking them back.

ETA: I'm not sure if the link is working... if not try this. (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_z6EQT_Vtv5g/SUrAHGPxF-I/AAAAAAAAAfo/VdEo4lIXL8I/s1600-h/51jeC5Br5ML._AA260_.jpg)

if you are worried about it, maybe you can put them away until she's not mouthing everything as much? or exchange them like you said. maybe airing them out a bit will help the smell, but i would still worry about the content.

we only dio wooden toys, mostly unpainted. but IMO those would not be safe just for the reason that they are made of chemicals(rubber/plasticy). i may be concerned about the BPA possibility...

I would probably exchange them.
