What is a good carrier for taking walks with a 16lb baby? I would like to get out and exercise with my lil one, but I don't think my pouch sling is going to cut it.:)

MT is great! I have two & they are super comfy. I just got an ergo yesterday, trying to decide if I like it as much as the MTs. But ergo might be one to look at too.

I really love my new native carrier pouch! If yours isn't working, is it not the right size? I found I could still carry my (heavy) son lying down, as well as on the hip or in the front... Oh course, shoping for a new carrier sound like a lot of fun too!! :D Good luck!!

I use my hotsling to (hip) carry my DS who is probably about 20 lbs.
I just got a babyhawk MT. I really like it and it would be more comfortable for longer walks. Just not as easy to pop josh in and out.

I recomend Ring slings for the versatility and ease of use to my customers. :D But I think a MT is also a good option to have for some mamas. I personally cant live without my ring sling. I wear my 23lb. 13 mo old in the Hip carry, almost everywhere. :D
(BTW- I make both RSs & MTs) ;)

I am looking for a MT also, in girly colors- new or used- so if you all have any suggestions on where to look I would much appreciate it as I am sure the OP would as well!

I keep thinking I should try a MT... LOL I'm really liking my Ergo, though. :) I can use it for both of my children (DD is almost 4 and DS is 7 1/2 months). I haven't tried to use it with DS on my back, though.

We make Mei Tai's and I am happy to work with any budget... *SMILES*

Well, I'm in the minority here because I don't even have a Mei Tai - but gosh, maybe I should try one. My son is almost 16 lbs and we take walks with out Moby Wrap. As he gets bigger, we may need to switch to the Ellaroo more often, because it is less stretchy, but the Moby works great and he loves it.
DS is still too young for a hip carry so we do front carries in the wraps. I have a pouch and a sling for when hip carries are an option, but obviously, haven't tried them for that yet.

I loved using an Ergo with my first -- it was more comfortable than my basic mei tei once he was heavier. I got a Moby Wrap with my second and have been very happy with it, but he's only 12 lbs--an Ellaroo might be better for older kids.

I've been looking at ergo's, but I think I might do better with a mei tai. Can someone tell me if they're all the same? The prices seem to vary so much!
Sorry to hijack the thread. :o
