So Ben just turned 2 a couple weeks ago an I am in sleep he**. Things are getting progressively worse it seems. I know he is teething with his 2 year molars but I don't really think it is the real problem.

He used to just get put in his crib after we did our bed time routine, and as long as he had his monkey and blankie and his projector thingy was working he would be asleep on his own in minutes. We did have issues before that and usually a night of CIO (modified, please no flames) would take care of it, and we would be back in business.
So now Ben needs to be held and cuddled to go to sleep (which I don't mind) but even after he falls asleep (sometimes quickly other times not so quick) he will arch his back and scream and cry with eyes closed seemingly asleep as soon as you even get close to the crib, or try to lay him in it. Often we put him on the queen sized bed in his room (has bed rails) and sometimes it works other times not so much. So he seems to get up about 43-4 hours after he goes down and wants to play, when we tell him No it is time for bed, he has a total meltdown to the oint of hair pulling, hitting, biting, yelling ect. It takes a lot to settle him down and back to sleep, usually at least 1.5 hours or more. I don't like letting him get up to play, I don't want him to think it is ok and normal. He will get up again anywhere between 4-5:30 for the day. It has totally messed up any resemblance of a schedule and I am at a loss as to how to fix it.
I haven't had a chance to talk to my dr about it, but I don't think he will be much help anyway. At Ben's check up he was astonished we had taken away his bottle and actually told us to give it back to encourage Ben to drink more milk. Anyway, enough rambling, what are your thoughts. Thanks =)

Did something happen in his room that he may be scared of? Or anything traumatic happen somewhere along the way? Maybe nightmares or even tremors?
If it's his teeth, maybe a little motric/tylenol?

My dd has been doing this too, only not to this extent. Usually she just needs her "bink" (blanket) fixed and she goes right back to sleep. Last night was the first night in almost a month that she slept without waking at all.

Nope nothing has happened. I just converted his crib to the day bed today because he wasn't sleeping in the crib anyhow and just started climbing out of it when he got mad. I am wondering if maybe he has acid reflux or something. He has been doing this really weird swallowing/gulp thing when I try to lay him down. I think I might make an appointment with a new dr to see what they think. Thanks for the input though. If anyone else has anything to offer feel fre to add. =)
