Good morning mamas! I am up early today, as X has a swim class in the afternoon, so i want to make sure he gets up in time to have two naps before 3 PM :giggle:

I know on the thread yesterday I forgot to answer the qotd, "what are you doing this weekend?" but that's because i am just missing my DH
Hence, the title of the thread: i am just spending the weekend waiting to visit my DH! (and i am also waiting for my TIAN from Joyce, :giggle: but i will be waiting until after vacation for that...)

There is not much to do, because all my friends spend the weekends with their DH's so that leaves X and I to just hang on our own. Ah, well, at least we have our swim lessons at the Y to look forward to!

I am going to post the thread just in case any one else is :lostit: enough to be up early on a Saturday :roflmbo:... I won't hold my breath ;) BRB

Ok, so far so good, i do not see another thread yet :)

There is not much for me to say today, and i am at a loss as to the qotd, as i too, had considered asking for belly pics :giggle: but we did that yesterday. Ok, i guess i better get some breakfast and pack up even more FSOT for the mail pickup today!

good morning!

i've been up with dd2 since 6am. she has been keeping me up for almost 2 months with 4-5 feedings a night. for the past 5 nights i have been sleeping on the couch (dd2 is still in our room because we only have 2 bdrm). welllll for 4 nights in a row she has only been waking for ONE feeding in between 1-2am!!!! i actually feel rested for once! so i just finished the dishes, cleaned the stove top and now i'm preparing dh's coffee :)

i hope all of you bsrb mamas have a great weekend!

Morning!
I'm up, too.
My friend stopped over last night 'for an hour' and that turned into 4-5 hours. It was so nice to see her and hang out to have some adult conversation. Of course, it turned into a therapy session, but it was needed. I didn't get to bed until after 1am, so getting up this morning was a little rough. However, we're up and starting our day. Where's that coffee?

Off to yoga at 10am...oh, and DH told me last night that I can definitely take the teacher training class. :yay: So, that starts at the end of March, and I'm looking forward to it already. At least it will be spring, and he can take C out for walks, etc. while I'm gone since we're a single car household. It's only one Fri/Sat a month, but I already know that I'll be really looking forward to those weekend. :giggle:

Last night was the 2nd time I tried the TIAN....great, yet again. I'm so happy.

Sara--I'm sorry you're missing DH. You're leaving Monday, right? Do you have everything packed up?
Have fun at the Y today!!
That's great that you sold stuff on FSOT! What have you sold so far?
I'm really tempted to list a couple of my B4s to help fund that BSRB custom (& my new yarn addiction.)

Jess--That's great that DD has been only getting up for one feeding for 4 nights! Isn't that the best feeling? Rested mama=happy mama, IMO. :)

I'm at a loss for a QOTD, too. Hopefully someone is feeling creative this weekend. :)

Ok, off to get myself together and figure out what to make for breakfast.

Jess, i am so happy to hear that you got some much-needed sleep! :yay:

Di, having a night with a friend like that sounds like a great time :)
And we are leaving on Monday, and no, i do not have anything packed  Today's projects include laundry and then packing :giggle:

I sold two B4s , a bummis super brite, a pair of homemade dryer balls (dh does not like the banging noise in the dryer , a 2by2 fleece soaker , and two BG AIOs.

The B4s were CV, and i prefer OBV for them. The 2by2 fleece was so hard to give up, but i am getting away from unnatural fibers, and i would rather get some wool soakers :)

Did you all hear about the CPSIA Law? here is a link to a discussion on here about it:

they granted a one-year stay of testing! :woot2: This is great, and all, but i wonder now if they will ever be able to exclude cloth diapers/clothing :headscratch: or if it is a matter of time.

I had to :chuckle: about DH and the dryer balls. I have the plastic ones (which I don't care for) because my DH is the same way. He walked around the house saying 'what IS that noise???!!' :dramatic:

ITA about the OBV B4s vs. the CV. Perhaps I'll try to list mine at some point.

Oh, bummer about the fleece. Yet another thing I agree on, though. I have 2 pair of longies that we love for during the day, but that's it. C is in wool the rest of the time. I do like the fleece for around the house since she's army crawling and I'm tired of shaving wool. :giggle:

Heehee about not packing yet. I'm one of those people that walks around the house for days thinking about what to pack, then running around the night before actually putting those things into the suitcase instead of just thinking about them. :giggle:

Oh, and Cass if you pop in--I saw the pics of your tattoos yesterday...so pretty!! I love that each one has a meaning.

Ok, off to feed C breakfast & work on getting DH up so I can head out.

Have a great morning!

Morning mamas! I don't know how much I'll be around today because I have a lot to do and I'm determined to not let DS suck me in. :giggle:

Sara- Swim lessons sound fun! I wanted to do that, but the times are crazy and I would have to have someone to watch the other ds because you know I can only do one at a time. :giggle:

Jess- Yay for getting sleep last night!

Diana- I'm glad your getting to take the yoga instuctor class. I know it was important to you.

And about packing, instead of packing the actual suitcase, i have a running list on my fridge, and when i think of something i will need, it goes onto the list

ok gotta run, X is getting cranky. Might be nap time already!

I'm here ladies and I did NOT wake up early today :) For some unknown reason, Juliana recently became a baby who STTN straight through until 8:30am. I don't know why or how this happened because we're not doing anything different about her bed time or nighttime routine, but it is absolute HEAVEN. Prior to these recent nights of STTN, it had been a little more than 2.5 years since my last uninterrupted night of sleep because Howie didn't give up his one night waking until he was 18 months old, when Juliana was 3 months old and waking many more than 1 time. I'm almost afraid to type that BOTH of my kids have been STTN recently, but it is nothing short of HEAVEN. I am :bliss: And it's also a plus that because of Juliana's STTN, today is complete day 2 with no boobs. Her last one was at 1pm the day before yesterday. I'm really hoping that this can be the real end, and I'm really glad we did it the way we did where even though I have been actively encouraging weaning, we're sort of going at her pace too. It has not been cold turkey weaning, and she has seemed ready.

So . . . I'm so mad at DH that I could spit nails. I thought I had been pretty clear that if he wanted to have a men only day all day tomorrow, he was going to have a honey-do day all day today and finally DO the things I've been begging for his help with around the house. It's 9am and where is he? Down at his bar. I guess a few of the other guys were going in to paint and "it would be rude to just let them do all the work". WHAT?!? Where are THEY when you're going down to let a contractor in or bring parts to the plumber every weekend? Where are they when you're hauling trash out of there *with me* on the weekend? They're not there, that's for sure. If he would just let them do some of the work and him stay home for once, I don't think any of them would have the balls to call him out for not helping after all the hard work he puts in by himself. So I am :banghead: but I'm also aware that my DH issue is not a big deal compared to what some of our mamas are going through. In fact, we had a very nice night last night at dinner. We went to a great Italian restaurant and had a nice, early night. I think I'm getting too old/mature for closing time, kwim? The ultimate culmination of our good night was when we got home and DH wanted to cuddle :thud: I felt like a lucky mama going to bed last night!

We're about to bring daddy an iced coffee at the bar so maybe I'll gently remind him that we have a lot to do at home too, and that does not need to be an all day affair. We'll see.

Morning Mommas! I just made the kidlets and I some pancakes. I don't think I made enough though b/c we are all still hungry. I think every one of my kids are on a growth spurt right now b/c food is flying out of the door.

QOTD: How bout sharing a story that just blows your mind. For example:

Chris and I suffered a miscarriage before I was pg with Lina. I always thought the baby was a boy. His due date was 10/28/00. I lost him at 7 weeks on 3/11/00. We were so heartbroken. Then we got pg with Angelina. Her edd was 2/7/01 but I had her on 1/30/01. What blew my mind is that if you rearrange her birthday, it contains the same numbers as our angel baby's date that we lost him. And then to top it all off, my baby boy Caleb was born 10/28, my little angel boy's due date. Caleb was 4 weeks early but he wanted to come on that day. Just blows my mind.

And also when I was very early pg with Caleb everyone kept asking me if I felt what I was going to have yet. I kept saying, "it's going to be a boy. I just know it's going to be a boy." I had his name picked out too. It was going to be Corbin (because early on dh veto'd Caleb and liked Corbin). I was on my way to my SIL's house several hours away to help her pack and move and was on the phone with my mom talking about the baby. As I'm driving, there is a HUGE billboard with some tiny little words and then right in the middle of it were the words "IT'S A BOY!" in big letters. I about fainted. My mom laughed. Then less then 1/2 a mile up the road there was a sign for "Corbin's Florist". Seriously? I'm beginning to think I'm loopy. My mom is still laughing. The final sign of the day was a big 18 wheeler headed in the opposite direction approaching me with a big cross on the grill. I had to pull over b/c I was crying. I realized that God had shown me the little signs that my baby was going to be a boy and he was watching over me and Lil C. It was a relief after my mscg, losing Addie's twin, and a baby in between Addie & Caleb.

So there ya go. My little bit of wierdness. Now let's hear yours. :giggle2:

Diana..awesome about being able to take the yoga instructor class!

I have no stories that i can think of that would blow your minds. or maybe i'm still fried b/c Roan decided he was gonna hold his poo in all day and save it for night time. so he was up poo'ing all night long! and crying and just being inconsolable which is so not like him. Then Ryder woke up in the middle of the night and refused to go back to sleep in his own bed. I NEED a nap!

I listed a brand new UF bsrb on fsot. DH said the animal crackers print was too girly b/c of the pink and hot pink in it! lol so off it must go to a new home. *sigh* I hope all my dipes sell soon, I want them out of my house already. haha.

I'm back from bringing DH (and all his friends) coffee . . . he says he doesn't know how long he's going to be and "It just has to get done babe. It's not a big deal". :banghead: So . . . the crafty, vindictive little wench in me came up with a plan on the way home. I have been begging DH to help me with a list of around the house tasks that require both of us (or at least him to watch the kids) and that we both agree need to be done. In some cases, it's him who really thinks the thing needs doing more than me. I've been trying to get his help with this stuff since June. In that time, he's never had time for my honey-do list on the weekends because he spent 3 months putting in the same hours as a professional landscaper (in addition to his more than full time sales job) doing a complete makeover to our yard, he has gone to Montreal with his friends twice, and now he's been spending every free second he has working on his bar. Despite not being able to find the time to help me with the things that need doing (steaming our carpets, cleaning out our closets) he has no shortage of criticisms about how these things have not been done. I want to slap him right in the face over this sometimes, and it's been a real bone of contention for me since JUNE. I have finally decided that I will not permit him to to Montreal again until he can get EVERYTHING on my list done. This is going to be a big deal because a lot of our friends are getting married this year and that's where the boys go for all of the bachelor parties. To be clear . . . it does not bother me in the least if DH goes away for the weekend with his friends. The only reason I would not allow it is because I'm either due with a baby very soon or just had a baby very recently. DH would not want to go at those times anyway. But . . . I'm not going to allow him to go have fun with his friends if he can't find the time to maintain his own home with his wife. I'm getting sick and tired of him putting the things I need him to do last on his list. I know that this weekend he's probably going to put in a full day at the bar and then come home and be too tired to do anything around here, then spend man day doing poker and the superbowl tomorrow, and it will be another weekend wasted. I am steaming mad just thinking about it. I mean when it comes to the work stuff I am glad that he has such a good work ethic, but then we just come back to how sometimes he has to put that much work into our marriage too.

Ok, rant over. Actually, I'm cashing in all of my Montreal points another way too. I'm telling DH (not asking) that I'm going to Louisville for a weekend in March to visit my sister. I can get air fare for practically nothing, and going for a long weekend makes it so that it doesn't even interfere with his routine that much. It's settled :)

At least the kids are being good today, knock on wood. I am wanting to seek out some retail therapy but I can't because I have to save this pp to pay for my new BSRB custom! Someone talk some sense into me. The final list of prints I'll be getting at some point soon is:

PINK CHICKS:yay: :bliss: :yay:
iced giraffes
grass giraffes
sorbet giraffes
over the moon
organic hearts
fin fancy
peace and love
moon and stars
grazing horses

Counting the NIP multi skulls (thank you Sara!) and the NIP peter panda (thank you Jaclyn!) I have on the way, I'm going to have a mostly gender neutral stash. The only print above that I wouldn't put on a boy is peace and love. I  pink chicks so much that I would definitely put it on a boy :giggle2: My current prints are mint chocolate zoo, purple and aqua damask, pink puppy love and pink flower party, so 4 girly prints is ok :) Talking about BSRBs makes me so happy :giggle:

She isn't vomiting and her pupils look ok right now. She laid her head down on the blanket and was just staring off. SO I picked her up and she is sitting in my lap, seemingly normal...

I wouldn't be AS worried except that she went limp and looked as if she was going to pass out and was dazed. THAT is what scared the mess out of me.

Hope you are enjoying your time with dh!!!!!

How we got to Caleb's name. We knew it had to start with a "C" so he could have dh's initials since the girls have my initials. I listed a bunch of names and dh veto'd all but Corbin. So it was going to be Corbin. Then he came home one day and said he had changed his mind. He like Cohen and that was that. He was going to be Cohen Howard Lastname. I had everything ready for Cohen to get here. Well, after a late night of flying, he came home and asked "What about the name Caleb? And what do you think of adding a second middle name for Will (his stepdad)?" I lost it on him. He had already veto'd Caleb from the get go and now wanted my #1 pick of names. He also says he doesn't remember me every mentioning Caleb as a name. Whatev.... So I jumped at him saying yes to Caleb but I didn't like the 2nd middle name. However, I did like his reasoning for having it so I caved. So he's Caleb Carroll Howard Lastname.

Hey Mamas! I just kicked DBF out because I need some space....:giggle:He needed to go home and do laundry anyways. I probably sound like a biotch but he hasn't had work lately (electrician) and we've been seeing each other WAY too much. He was being way too lovey dovie touchy feely when I was trying to get my chores done and that really gets on my nerves. I have work at 4 and I just really need some time to relax and get Eve down for a nap.

Oh... and another rant! Those PFs I bought are bleeding everywhere and Ive washed them three times and boiled them :banghead:

Cass--I replied to your other thread....:hugs: to you, and please let us know how Ava checks out at the ER. How scary. :(

Amy--How frustrating about the PFs. I forget what to do to set the dye so they don't bleed anymore. :headscratch: I want to say vinegar, but not sure.
Oh, and I totally understand where you're coming from with kicking DBF out. :giggle: I am the same way....when I got home from yoga, DH said he was going out to do some errands. As horrible as it sounds, I was happy to see him go out so I could catch up on this thread without him asking me to do 1000 things. :giggle2:

Annie--Wow about your story. I don't have any story that even comes close to that much mind-blowing coincidence. It's amazing that your little angel was looking over Caleb like that.

 Carly!

Jenn--Nice work with finding all of that fabulous fabric for your new UFs. Sorry that DH is not getting his 'honeydew' list done. I know the feeling, except my DH isn't out doing other work. I've been asking him to help me childproof for 4 months.

Tana--That animal crackers will sell with no prob. Oh, it's so hard for me to resist, but I have to.

C is exhausted, she missed her morning nap because I was at yoga. Hopefully she doesn't get overtired an not take her afternoon nap.

Ok, off to wash dipes. DH's family is in town, and it's going to be crazy with 7 of C's cousins running in and out of the house later.

I don't have anything even close to amazing to tell, but yours... wow! :) Question though -- you never said how you decided on the name Caleb instead of Corbin? All through the story I was waiting for a sign for why you went with "Caleb" but didn't see it or I missed it! :giggle2:

lucky you got your name:thumbsup:

my boy didnt have a name for 3 days after he was born
i never know what im having but wanted a girl and had a girl name picked but we just couldnt agree on boy name
he like liam he wanted last time too but everywhere i went i saw a lil liam
finally i told him to go to the store to get one of those 10,000 names
ahhh we only liked 2
i told him if he couldnt decide i was gonna let my family choose
so he is Braden Forest:lostit:

Jenn--Nice work with finding all of that fabulous fabric for your new UFs. Sorry that DH is not getting his 'honeydew' list done. I know the feeling, except my DH isn't out doing other work. I've been asking him to help me childproof for 4 months.

You know, not that I'm happy that other DHs are also not helping out around the house, but it does kind of make me feel better knowing that it's not just mine :)

I just joined the Enwrapture co-op. WHY?!?!?! :gah: I should not have signed up to view the co-ops. I was doing perfectly fine without 2 Enwrapture skirts. Oh well. The price was SO good that I wish I knew someone besides me who would like them because I would have stocked up on gifts :giggle: And hey . . . how can I argue with two clothing items for me for less than the cost of 1 BSRB? I can't. I also just sold 3 more of my TFs for more than double the cost of my Enwrapture order, so there you go.

DH just called and said he's going to be home at 4 :banghead: I explained in a remarkably cool and even tone that while I understood that this stuff has to be done and I am NOT giving him a hard time, I want him to also understand my completely justified frustration that he's always out of the house during what is supposed to be our time, either to spend together or do stuff together. He seemed reticent, so maybe I'm making some progress. I hope he doesn't think I'm cooking tonight :giggle2:

Oh and of course to Cass . . . I am  for Ava's well being and :hugs: you. I know how scary it is to have potential head trauma going on with your baby. Howie did mostly accidental head butting to Juliana when she was just 6 weeks old. He was trying to kiss her while I was changing her diaper and his 16 month old self wasn't graceful/coordinated enough to lower his head slowly. It was quite an impact and Juliana cried for about 20 minutes afterwards. I took her to the ped and they determined that she was ok, but it was still scary. I hope it was nothing but a momentary scare :hugs:

Suzy, I have some scraps here but honestly, I'm like a babe in the woods about scrappies. Does all the yarn that does into one pair of scrappy shorties have to be the same fiber? The same gauge? I'm :headscratch: and I'm really just sitting on my scraps not knowing what to do with them. One of them is corriedale, one of them is Patons, one of them is 3ply purewool and one of them is 1ply purewool. I don't know if all of those different yarns can be knitted up together. I am ISO wool yarn scraps, but I don't even know if I would know what to do with them, or what I'm even looking for so I'm contemplating selling/trading the scraps I already have.

 for all except Paton's.
However, I know I was reading something recently over on craft chat about not needing all yarns to be the same type/gauge for scrappies. I'll see if I can find you a link. I have a bunch of BFL leftover from C's hudson hat, and I'm sure I'll have some leftover from her longies I'm working on.
Yeah, and I hear you about the Enrapture co-op. I shouldn't have signed up for co-ops, either. I want a couple of the skirts, on top of ENI and the table towels. So far I've restrained myself.

I had already placed an order for table towels before joining the co-ops forum and actually, I think they're in my mailbox right now! Darn those kids and their naps :giggle: I am doing ok for ENI because I ordered a sampler pack awhile back and still have a good amt of it hanging around. I am ON THE WAGON for yarn, so no Laines Magnifiques co-op is going to tempt me (goshdarnit!)! Other than that . . . nothing much exciting going on. Wouldn't it be the greatest day ever if there was a BSRB co-op? I'd :thud:

Diana, you can feel free to PM me about my scraps if you would really be interested in working something out for them. 2 of them are girly so it would be better if they went to a mama with a girl. I just don't know if it would be spamming for me to post pics of the colorways here :headscratch:

My table towels are in the wash! I love them! I just didn't want to wash them with my dipes for the first time because I got red terry backing and I'm so afraid of that bleeding, kwim? So they're in there by themselves on a mini load. I'm off to Bed Bath and Beyond in a bit to get them their own towel holder because DH wants the one we already have to hold his paper towels :rolleyesout:

I think i got it on here in craft chat forum. Otherwise, i know there is a tute on Goodmama.com too
Morning Mommas!

:giggle2:

I  stories like that!! That is THE definition of serendipity!!

My best serendipitous tale is the story of how i met my DH, and i have told it before, but i'll post it again for the newbies :) I'll also add some details i skipped over before :giggle:
I met my BFF while working in a restaurant while i was in college. She and i would go out drinking and she would say "I wish you would meet my brother and fall in love and marry him and then you could be my sister!" I just laughed it off and she chuckled right along with me, as he was in the USN and stationed in HI, and i never thought we'd meet, let alone end up married! She started dragging me along, sometimes under false pretenses, to family gatherings in MD and VA and they were so warm and inviting. From the beginning, I called her parents "mom and dad". The first time i met her brother, we were like instant friends. I always felt something when i was around him, it was like a calmness that i cannot even describe to this day, but i tried to ignore it for years.

We kept in touch via phone and email pretty regularly, and he came to visit me a few times when i moved away to vegas. We were strictly platonic. I suddenly lost my job and i was so lost and confused about what to do next. My other BFF (not DH's sister) took me to a psychic to "help" me figure out what to do. I had never really believed in that kind of thing, but i humored her, as she thought she could give me some clarity. The psychic told me that i had a family ready-made and waiting for me. There was a person in my life whose name started with "J" and goes by a name only i call him (*dh's nickname i will not share). With him i would find my family.

I left that shop more confused than ever. Why was that psychic telling me about a family? i was a young single girl with no desire to settle down! And who was this "J" character? The only guy in my life whose name starts with "j" is... And it clicked. Maybe she was talking about Jimmy. But i pushed it out of my mind, and tried to forget that the thought had crossed my mind.

After another week of job-hunting, I talked to J again, and somehow he convinced me. He told me that HI was awesome (duh) , and he had many friends that could help me find a job if i wanted to, and then i could pay him back for the plane ticket. I accepted his offer. When i hung up the phone I thought to myself "why did i do that? I never take charity from others!" but it felt like the right thing to do.

My second day on the island, one of J's friends took me into downtown Waikiki for lunch. I had worked at a very specific chain restaurant on and off for years (it's where i met DH's sister) and i thought that if i found one on that island, i could work there pretty easily due to my experience. We walked along the street, and there, printed above the doorway was the owner's name. It was my mentor from a store back home, who had taught me everything i wanted to know about the business! Needless to say, i had the job before i even walked in.

This was pivotal to me, because once i had a job, i knew that i was not just out there on charity, and i could finally relax. J and i grew closer, and i tried not to fall for him, but every time we talked, i felt more and more drawn to him. About two weeks after i had been on the island, we went hiking at Keana (sp?) Point and it was so beautiful, like the end of the world. We were alone, and we finally kissed. The rest is history! I had found my family with a person named "j".

i have many stories like this. It seems that most things that happen to me are happy coincidences :) We were married on Oct 13, 2004. I had adopted a cat while in HI in 2003. She is still with me, sitting on my lap as we speak :giggle2:. She has a microchip, but i never checked it because it was not necessary. When DH, kitty, and i left the island, we had to have her shots and records updated, and i looked at her microchip tag. Her birthday was Oct 13, 2003, exactly one year before our wedding :0). :giggle2:

He's so tall, though, he kinda gets in my line of sight in front. I am going to work on back carrying tomorrow and maybe that is how we'll do the airport trip. If i am brave enough, haha!

Oh, it wasn't a novel at all. It was a great read. Very nice of you to share that story...so cool. You were definitely meant to be together. :)

So glad the ergo worked out for you in the store! C is long, too, but she's mostly legs, so her feet almost touch my thighs. :giggle: Funny that he's in your line of sight.
I'll be impressed if you can get that back carry. I can do it, but I need the couch or a bed. It's actually a little easier since C is a little older now and can work with me a bit. It was tough a few months ago. Still don't trust myself to do it in a parking lot or anything.
I love how the weight is all planted on the hips in the ergo. It saves the back & shoulders, that's for sure. I have a mei tei, too, and I can't wear her for a long time in that due to that reason...it hurts my shoulders after awhile.

I've been popping in to see if there's any update from Cass, too. I hope little Ava is ok.

Annie--Caleb is adorable!! I  his little face! He looks like he has a great personality. Thanks for sharing the video. Definitely made me laugh.

Carly--hope you're enjoying your dinner out! How nice!! That's such a special treat. ;)

Maya--I love the pic of you & your family on the plane. Your LO looks so comfy in the Moby. :)

Sara--I'm sure DH will buy you an ergo with no problem. Hope it continues to work for you & LMK how you make out with the back carry! I know my DH loves wearing C on his back. He feels more 'masculine' or something with the baby on his back instead of front. :giggle:

DH is out with his brothers at a hockey game. I love when BILs are in town, but DH is never home when they are around. However, I'm enjoying a quiet night. He wanted me to go out and have his niece babysit, but I rarely get nice quiet nights like this, so I'm just going to savor it.

Just hopping in to see if Cass was back yet. :( Poor little Ava, I hope she's okay.

I got my haircut and did a little shopping, found a few shirts at the gap outlet so i'm happy about that. I love the CK outlet but... well... my boobs don't. :( All the cute styles that fit me great when i was an A- don't work so well now that I'm a B-C (depending on the time of day, when D nursed last, etc). On one hand, the boobage is nice (and rob isn't complaining), on the other hand, it's a pain finding stuff i like that fits.

I'm having a hard time coming up with something for the QOTD... God always seems to be finding ways to blow my mind and show me that i need to worry less, because everything always works out the way it's supposed to. :) Doesn't always stop me from worrying but it helps me sleep at night.

Sara--I meant to ask, did you buy a seat for X on the plane?
Of course, when we flew with C when she was 3 months, we didn't & the flight down there was 1/2 full. After I gate-checked the infant seat, they told me I could have brought it on since the plane was so empty. :banghead:
On the way home, we got held up in security (not because of us. :giggle: ) and we were the LAST people on the plane & it was packed. Of course, bringing the carrier on at that point wouldn't have been an option & DH and I got split up, I was in the last row and he was in the first row. Fun times.

Di,
he has his own seat. I can't hold him for ten minutes on my couch, let alone for 4 hours on a plane! haha. he's a wiggle worm, cruisin man. I just hope he sleeps in the seat. He's not big on sleeping in the car, so who knows about the plane.

Sara--
Great that he has his own seat. I think I'm going to have to do that with C when we go to FL. DH loves to hang out on the couch, and C wants no parts of it. :giggle:
I have a feeling the flight will be fine for you & X & he will just take in all the new things to look at & listen to. :)

Hi ladies!

Thank you for all of your p&pts yesterday, I'm sorry I didn't pop in sooner to update.
I won't go into too many details, but DH and I are going to try and work things out. We aren't going to be living together for awhile, which I'm fine with ( he is going to be with us on his days off, and come to see the boys everynight after work ). He's just been so overwhelmed with alot of things ( bills, the business isnt' doing well ), and has become depressed. So we are going to work on him getting better, and then our marriage.

(((Claudia))) Dh and I went through a very rough patch a few years ago when we were first dealing with deployments. We were seperated for a short period of time. Working on ourselves first and then our marriage was the best thing possible. We worked on our friendship during that time too. It's a really good thing that you and dh are talking about what is going on and working on fixing it. You will both be in my prayers. Many :hugs: Sweetie.

I do thing it's good. I mean he's not getting help right now, and him and I agreed. Maybe it's not the best time for him to be around the kids too much, as to not affect them. He's really depressed, he's going to find some help soon, just hard when you don't have insurance. So we have to look for something through the state? I want him to be better, and then we will worry about the rest. He said he was so sorry for putting us through all of this, and that getting a divorce might have been a harsh unresonable choice, since he does love me and our family.

I'm glad it makes you fell mo' betta. If you ever need a shoulder, I'm around. Just keep the lines of communication open between the two of you. Do y'all go to church or have a pastor that dh can talk to while the hunt for a professional is going on? We went through a chaplain on post and sometimes his advice was so much simpler and more real for our situation then "the other guy".

Hate to post and run, DS2 decided that he was going to start dive bombing out of his crib, and then ambush his brother in bed now. I have to stay in the room with him until he falls asleep, or they won't go to sleep until 1am.

I had a nice evening out with my hubby and dinner was so yummy. Logan was an angel for my grandma... he's a pretty good boy so I didn't have any concerns. :) I definitely felt like I deserved tonight and it was so nice to get out without the little guy!

Cass, I hope you are doing okay and hope Ava is fine... still wondering how you are and hope you update us when you can! :hugs:

Sorry ladies, we just got home.

I took her in. The Dr said since it had been 2 hours already and she seemed alert and what not, that he didn't see a need for a CT scan. He said to watch for certain signs and immediately bring her in if any show up.

She has *seemed* fine since then, but after talking to my dad (we went to my parents after that, he's a retired firefighter) he said, if she went limp, then she lost consciousness, even if it was only a second or two. And if she lost consciousness, then that usually means concussion.

So now I am worried the Dr was just blowing me off. She's going to be sleeping with me tonight and I will be constantly checking on her all night. And watching her closely tomorrow.

Thank you ladies for all the prayers. I'm hoping all is ok.

Claudia - I am glad that you two have come to some sort of resolution. Hopefully it is one that you are content with. Money issues can be so straining. I pray that you two are able to work through this and get to the other side of this hard time in your life. :hugs: to you and your family.

Just popping in before I try to go back to

DH leaves for work at 5 am and decided he needed some attention prior.:goodvibes:... So now I am wide awake. It was okay because he woke me from a nightmare where a little old lady was trying to run me off a cliff :headscratch: :giggle:

We may be going to my brother's house today if he is feeling better. It is so much fun. They have a beautiful 4,000 + sq. ft. house with an awesome playroom. And my brother is a chef (top of the line) so the food is guaranteed to be fabulous!

I have so much school and so much cleaning to get done but I can't begin to tell you all how much I miss popping in . Thanks so much for the hello's I've gotten!

Morning.....
Cass--I hope you, DH, and Ava had a good night. It broke my heart to read about DH crying. What a sweetie.

Hi, Amy--sorry work was busy for you....I hope you got a good night's rest. :)

Esther--:giggle: about DH wanting some attention before he left for work....AND your dream.
Hope you get to go to your brother's today. I appreciate good food, too!

C and I aren't doing much for the superbowl. As I had posted the other day, DH, a couple of his brothers, and his dad are all going to the neighborhood bar for at least the first half. DH really wanted to watch the game here with everyone, but one of his brothers is insisting on going out because that's where all of his friends will be. Of course, it's one of those bars where the TVs are from 1980, and DH wants to watch it in the comfort of his home...on High-def. :giggle: Plus, he's a huge Springsteen fan, and he wants to see the halftime show. Oh, well...I'll DVR it for him.
C and I may go to the ILs since that's where her cousins will be, but we'll see. I would love to sit here with her and have a quiet night, but DH thinks I'm being a hermit. :giggle:

Anyway, off to get a few things done.

Oh, and Esther--forgot to congratulate you on receiving your ergo! That's great that you love it!! It's funny, I had the infant insert to use with C when she was a teeny babe. I also had a sling & wrap, and she hated them both. She only liked the ergo (would be asleep in minutes.) Weird because I wasn't a fan of the insert, but she LOVED it.
The back carry is the best, but I have to get better at doing it myself.

no plans for superbowl. actually i dont even intend to watch it. DH left me yesterday with the kids by myself again. and not to my surprise he's not here again. and i'm sure he'll want to watch the superbowl at the firehouse later today so i really dont expect him to be home later either. that man needs a good kick in the head. i am at my wits end with him and my patience is wearing thin. i dont know how many times and in how many ways i have to say it to get it through his head. or how many times other ppl have said it to him that he needs to re prioritize his life. that his family should come before his stupid volunteer firefighting. not to sound like a biotch..i'm proud of him for doing it but i want to be the first to say i was against it from the beginning. i was already pregnant with DS2 when he decided to do this and i argued with him that he barely spent enough time with DS1 and now that 2 is on the way i'm really going to need him around more and pulling his weight. He assured me it wouldn't cut into time but it has 10x! !@#$ i feel like im starting to sound like a broken record.

Hello there ladies! We are doing absolutely nothing for superbowl sunday. DH is at an all day poker tournament right now (just left) and he is planning on coming home in time to watch the game here with me, but the way he's been lately I will not be shocked if he calls at 6pm to say that he's staying at the house where the poker tournament is to watch the game :rolleyesout: We tried to argue this morning but it didn't really go anywhere. The one thing that did happen was that I put my foot firmly down and told him that I WAS going to Lousiville next month and he sheepishly did not try to say no. I guess that's something, but my problem is that we're fighting about me needing his help with stuff and he always just tries to explain why I should be able to do all of the things by myself. You know, I'm sure I could if I put my mind to it because I did used to live alone before we met . . . but now I don't. I'm not the only one who makes the mess that I'm trying to clean, and I'm NOT by myself, and there's no reason why I should have to do big overhaul type things by myself. Ultimately, the conversation culminated in the biggest bone of contention that is between us; that DH thinks I have all kinds of time everyday to do big cleaning because "all I do is stay home everyday". He thinks he knows what my life is like because I went to Kansas City for a week when Howie was a year old and left them alone together, and he got on just fine and I came home to a clean house. But . . . that was just one kid and now we have two. And that was a week of Howie being in daycare while DH worked, then came home to a house that hadn't been getting trashed all day by two toddlers. He doesn't know what he's talking about but he really thinks he does.

Anyway . . . :hugs: to Claudia. I'm so, so relieved to hear that you and DH are going to try to work things out. Honestly, admitting that you need to seek help when you're struggling with depression is the hardest part. If he knows that he needs help, things are looking up for the two of you. It's not going to be easy but it sounds like you're both willing to fight to save your family, and as cliche as it might sound, where there's a will, there's a way. This past year has been a huge struggle for me and DH and I am just now starting to feel the fog lifting. For us, it was me struggling with depression and it was very hard. I would say that the year of 2008 was the hardest of my life. But we are moving forward with our life together now, and I can honestly say that something as rudimentary as me deciding (to myself) that I would NOT let my marriage fail was what made all the difference. It sounds like that has happened for your DH, even though he's still trying to figure things out. I think you two will ultimately be ok, and your marriage will be stronger after having gotten through a hard time like this. I'll be thinking of you :hugs:

Cass, I'm glad to hear that Ava was cleared by the doc, and I'll continue to think of you both and hope that it really was just a scare :hugs:

I know I had something else I was going to ask but now I can't think of it. I'll be back!

Good morning ladies.

Thank you SO much for the thoughts and prayers :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

Ava slept fine. She actually woke quite a few times wanting to nurse. DH took her downstairs this morning when she woke and let me sleep a bit. Right now she's sleeping, in his arms, he wont put her down :giggle: I was worried, but deep down I think I knew she was fine. But poor DH, I think he feels really guilty. This is his first baby and he's never been through this before. I feel so sad for him.

We aren't doing anything for Superbowl. DH isn't a big sports fan. I have to go to my parents later to take some pictures for this contest entry my mom is doing. And DH has a bridal shoot to do.

Jen- I wish you didn't have to deal with DH always spending time with other people instead of you and the kids :( Poker is no where as important as you and the babies. Hugs Mama... maybe DH will learn his lesson now that you put your foot down about going to Louisville.

Cass- I love it when Daddy's are overly protective of their daughters. When Eva was 3 months we were in a fender bender and the rest of the day SD wouldn't put her down . It was so sweet ( even tho I can't stand that man:hairpull: )

I am :headscratch: A mama posted to my wool FSOT thread asking if I would trade for one of my items, and said I could look up her spots listings to see if there was anything I wanted. I couldn't figure out how to look up all of her listings using her username, but I looked for threads started by her using her DS profile and found her FSOT listings, all of which say NO TRADES, pp only. So . . . should I be looking for listings that say she'll accept trades for those items, or should I decide that she's willing to trade any of her FSOT items of comparable value since she posted to me asking if I would trade . . . ? Again, :headscratch: She's got a ton of stuff I love, so I'd love to trade!

Actually, now I'm  because in looking at this mama's listings, the two things I would really want to trade for are a pair of size S Woollybottoms longies in a print I really love, but the rise is most likely too short for J. The other thing I really love is an 18-24mo AhMay Designs set in the dotty owls print, but I know that would be way too big for J right now and it would be a gamble that it would fit her next winter. Besides that . . . how practical is it to trade for stuff we can't use for 10 months? And it would require partial pp . . . but it's so NICE.

OK, so I know I promised you guys some photos of me in my different wigs... I don't have pictures of me wearing all of them, but I did have Lee snap a few pics of me before we headed out for dinner last night... this is me in my blonde wig... it's probably most similar to my real hairstyle and color how it was before I lost my hair... honestly, I think in person it looks more real than in these pictures... the flash made it look more fake-y than it looks in real life. But here's a few shots of that so you can all see. I used to be obsessed with diapers... now I have a wig collection. :giggle2:

hey mamas. i am thinking of buying some G diapers for the airplane. I know we CAN do cloth, and it would work, but i really don't want to be lugging around wet/dirty diapers (even in a wetbag) taking up my carry-on luggage space :hide: IDK. i am still on the fence about it. But my local grocery does carry the G's so at least i would not have to go to far out of my way to get them if i decide to.

Here's my question: have any of you used them? Are they worth it? i also heard a mama on another board saying that she actually used Gdiaper inserts with her PUL covers, and even on top of the fleece in a pocket while traveling. Does that make sense? do you think that would work? if so, i'll just buy the refills and forget about the "starter kit". LMK what you all think. Maybe i should just suck it up and pack the cloth in the carry-on, but with my Diabetes supplies and a baby, there is just so much that i can fit into my carry-on bag, KWIM? TIA

I use(d) G's... if you're not an experienced G-user you've got a good chance of having a leak or two on the plane with them, which isn't a good time to learn that you didn't quite exactly get the elastic in between your baby's legs where it needed to be and that the insert isn't as absorbent as you thought it was. Personally, I'd just use disposables, but if you *really* want to use them, I'd just get the refills and put them in a thirsties cover or similar... thirsties are pretty foolproof. And bring a spare in case there's a messy poo. We use disposables on the plane when traveling for the most part and cloth when we get there... i just don't have room in my diaper bag for all the diapers i'd need if god forbid my flight got screwed up and i was stuck there for 8 hours, or worse.

Thanks! that's exactly what i needed to know. I am not that interested in the full liner and cover, so it's good to hear that i may be better off just getting the inserts. But in all honesty, i'll probably just end up with some sposies  Even DH is resistant to buying them, but at this point, if it will save me some packing room and hassle (since i am flying alone), i'll do it. I am totally worried about sposie leaks, though. X leaked out of everything but Huggies natural fit, and those are so dang expensive :banghead: Plus, who knows if they will work on him now? That was two sizes ago!!

Andrew in his first BRSB (1.5 wk). i'm assuming it doesn't look right b/c it's still pretty big. :giggle:

Look at that cutie pie!! And it's that moose in shoes dipe I helped you find :giggle2: He's so sweet, Mary. Congratulations. I am not usually one to go ga-ga over a new baby, but man! With all the newborn BSRB babes, i am starting to want one BAD :giggle:. Not to mention, Jenn is getting two NB BSRBs in my fav print, and i am so jealous :chuckle:

Poor X did not want to go to bed tonight. IDK if he could feel how nervous i am, as i run packing lists in my head and daydream about what tomorrow will turn out like, but he seems to know something is up. He cried hysterically when i changed him for bed, then pulled off in the middle of his bedtime bottle crying again! And now he's still whining in his crib. I was in there for about 45 min of the last hour, rocking him and calming him, but as soon as i put him in the crib, he would wake back up again :banghead:. I hope he's not sick or anything. I guess i'll have to see how he is in the morning before i should really worry.

Ah, he's finally sleeping. THANK GOODNESS. Ahhhh. Now i get to go and take the garbage out :yuck: and try to scrape the ice off the stairs so the pet sitter does not fall!

Hi!
Just popping in briefly...at the ILs and had to get away from everyone for a teeny second. :giggle:

Mary---the baby is sooooooo cute!! I love him in his BSRB, even if it's a little big for now. So cute!!!

Sara--If you're not around later tonight...have a wonderful flight!! :)

I should bbl once I get C home & to bed.

Thanks Di!
I'll be here on and off tonight, and I am bringing my laptop with me :yay: so Tuesday when DH is at work, i am sure i will be able to check in for a bit

Sara, do you have any thirsties covers or similar? I would put those over the disposable, we found that those helped keep D from leaking in the disposables quite nicely.

oh mary you make me want to try a bsrb on my nb now. hehe but i'm sure it would be super big on roan now considering his nb dipes are still big on him. but they grow so quickly and soon enough he'll fit into those dipes perfectly.

carly i see you updated your avi so i'm thinking that you must have posted some pics of you in your wig(s). i'm going to go track back some pages after i give DS a bath.

ps why do i feel like i'm paying for my oil (heat) every month! if i see another oil bill next month i dont think i'll be able to afford it ;X

Hey, we only figured it out recently (after a few bouts of antibiotics where he was in disposables... man do i wish i figured it out sooner). The smaller size disposables were too small and leaked, and the next size up was too big and leaked... the cover held the disposable to his body better, and he leaked less. :) Personally i was not impressed with the absorbency of the g-diaper inserts, and i hated flushing them... i was always paranoid they'd clog the toilet. After one good pee, they would still be 'unused' in the back, but he'd pee again in the front and it'd just roll off and leak out of the diaper. At 40c a flushie, it's annoying to change them after every little piddle.

You know, since he's been back in cloth overnight, he hasn't had a bad wakeful period in the middle of the night. Coincidence? Who knows? He's going through a major growth spurt still (nope, still not over) and i swear he's getting bigger right before my eyes. It's just eat, eat, eat, but holy moly the boy is getting gigantic... his legs grew and looked skinny for a little while, now they're big and chunky.

Ok, I'm doing pretty good with the splurging I've done on the diaper cuts of my dreams and the Batik Bum set, and I'm a selling fool so I've got plenty of pp to replace the BSRBs that are going to be leaving my hands tomorrow. But . . . there are two woolie items that have been the holy grail of wool to me, and I will shamelessly accept spam for these two items. OR, if you happen to see them available somewhere, I would appreciate just posting it to the thread or dropping me a PM. Those two woolie items are scrappies and the goldfish colorway. At this time I am seeking shorties or capris/manpris (LOVE capris), and scrappies or goldfish shorties/capris would make my day.

Just in case you need to enable anyone :giggle:

Hi ladies! We just got back from our ski/snowboard trip. It was so much fun!! I just read through the whole thread (phew, that's exhausting!).

Off to yoga at 10am...oh, and DH told me last night that I can definitely take the teacher training class. :yay:

YAY!!! I'm so glad you decided to do it!!

My table towels just got here too, but I think I'm going to have to get a second roll as well. At least until we all get used to using cloth. I can't wait to try them.

My best serendipitous tale is the story of how i met my DH, and i have told it before, but i'll post it again for the newbies :)

Somehow I had missed hearing this story before, but I love it. We've said before that we have similarly serendipitous stories (try saying that three times fast), but it was so neat to finally hear yours in full.

So sorry to hear you're going through this, but it sounds like you're making some great decisions and trying to work things out the best way for your family. :hugs:

Ava slept fine. She actually woke quite a few times wanting to nurse. DH took her downstairs this morning when she woke and let me sleep a bit. Right now she's sleeping, in his arms, he wont put her down :giggle: I was worried, but deep down I think I knew she was fine. But poor DH, I think he feels really guilty. This is his first baby and he's never been through this before. I feel so sad for him.

So glad she's fine! That would be so scary.

:giggle2:

Love it, Carly!! Thanks for sharing :)

hey mamas. i am thinking of buying some G diapers for the airplane.

TIA

Ugh...we tried gDiapers and I thought they were a complete pain. Messier than cloth since there are three parts to the system. Honestly, I'd choose disposables first, then cloth...and as a last resort, use the gDiaper inserts in a Thirsties cover or pocket. But I, personally, would use disposables

Andrew in his first BRSB (1.5 wk). i'm assuming it doesn't look right b/c it's still pretty big. :giggle:

Alright, everyone. That's it for me for tonight. Hopefully I'll get to be chattier this week :)

Ok, back from the ILs. It was just the girls and the kids left over there...all the men went out to watch the game. Before he left, DH said he would be leaving the bar at halftime. :roflmbo: famous last words. He just sent me a text saying friends from high school just showed up. As long as he's up by 7pm tomorrow so I can go to yoga, I could care less. :giggle:

I'm sure X saw suitcases, etc. all packed up and knew something different was going on. Hopefully it was just him being 'in tune.' :)
It was 45 degrees today, and I spent an hour outside scraping ice off of the driveway (that DH never finished) and the back deck so I could open the door all the way. Fun times.

Sara, do you have any thirsties covers or similar? I would put those over the disposable, we found that those helped keep D from leaking in the disposables quite nicely.
I would have never thought of that, either. Great idea!

Isn't it amazing how they suddenly grow like that? It seriously seems like it's overnight at times.
I don't think it's a coincidence that he hasn't had a bad wakeful period now that he's back in cloth.

Jenn--you know I love enabling, and will definitely let you know if I see any of those things.. I've been looking at wool on FSOT lately just to see what's out there. Feel free to LMK what size you're looking for & I will gladly PM if I see something.

Off topic, but I was actually scouring wool FSOT last night. I got a little weirded out when I saw a Hudson Hat that I knitted for another mama in a trade for sale. It kind of bugged me that I can't sell them for profit unless I get licensed, but someone else who owns it can.

Glad you had fun snowboarding!!
And, I have come to terms that when I actually do travel with C, I'm going to be using sposies, too. Just for the plane rides.

Oh, and I decided to pick up a couple of the Enrapture skirts/dresses. Anyone have one? I'm just not sure on what length to get. I have a tentative order in for one med and one long, thinking that I would need the long for a dress, but the medium if I just wanted to wear it as a skirt. I'm 5'6" if that helps. Any input would be appreciated. I just couldn't pass them up for the price. You can't even buy a nice skirt for that price.

Off to clean up a bit and hopefully get some knitting done before DH walks in the door.
I have been in & out of watching the game. I watched halftime because we're Bruce fans here....he was good.

Alaina, nice to have you back from your vacay :) We do have very similar stories, so thanks for reading my mini-novel. Glad you enjoyed it

And thanks for the advice about the G diapers. I am not going to get them. I mean, why am i going to spend more $ than i would on a pack of sposies on something that may just be more of a PITA anyway? I totally appreciate your input.

Yep. now i am convinced, it's sposies or cloth.

I am so glad D is sleeping better, and maybe it is the cloth... As for the growth spurt, we are going through the same thing here. DH might not recognize Xander after all the growing he has been doing this week. :giggle2:

I got in on the Enwrapture co-op and I ordered two mediums because it seemed to me that the long would make a full length dress but not be able to be worn as a skirt where the medium could be worn as a mid-length dress AND a skirt. I also looked at the inches . . . the long is 34"-36", and my inseam is like a 30", so I felt confident in getting the medium. I'm like 5'1" though, so you might need that longer inseam to get full length anything out of them. I don't know if that helped at all, but that's my reasoning for ordering two meds :)

I really didn't know how to measure. I measured from shoulder-ankle to get an idea of where the long would be for a dress, and it hit around mid-knee, which is what I was looking for. I have no idea if that's how I should be measuring, or how the length is affected when it's wrapped. I have a 32" inseam, so I guess I'll just go with a med and a long for skirt & dress respectively. For me, I'm more apt to wear something longer than shorter, so I guess I'm safe, even if it ends up down at my ankles. :giggle:

Wow, what a day and night I've had... We cleaned the house from top to bottom... did some serious cleaning, even steam cleaned a few of my larger throw rugs... and did allll the laundry including diapers... and watched the super bowl (poor Cardinals!
