Probably not but just wanted to get some advice on weight loss! DS is 12 months and weighs right around 20 pounds. He still nurses vigurously night and day. I am not looking to wean anytime soon but i reall yneed to lose weight. My health is in jeopardy!

I am 5'1" and weighed 213 pounds last week, OMG! I have gained at least 40 pounds this past year since DS was born. :banghead: The sleep deprivation has my body all kinds of out of whack and I am FINALLY getting my eating under control. I have gotten down to 205, weighed this morning, by not eating at night and drinking only water. Well except for my drink in the morning.

Anyone wanna join in my pity party??

I reccomend joining www.fitday.com and journaling your food. I just kinda watch my calories. If you want to keep BF just dont cut down too much. For me i found i have to stay about 1800-2000 calories a day. anything less and i start to lose my BM. I have been really good at working out though, so i dont have to watch my eating as closely. The best thing for us has been cutting out eating out. DH is losing weight too so it helps that both of us are doing it.

You can do it mama!

PLease do not do Slim Fast Mama!! YUK for your body and your BFing baby.
The best thing to do is control portions, limit breads and high starchy, sugary foods, eat lots of veggies and eat small meals more often. Every 2-3 hours. This helps boost your metabolism and when you eat the right combination of protein and carb with each meal, you will build lean muscle which is the main ingredient for burning fat!.

Actually eating a light snack before bed will control cortisol levels that sometimes spike when you sleep. Lots and Lots of water and NO SODA!!

My son is 30lbs and will be one on 2/12 . I totally feel your pain about losing weight and bfing :hugs:
I brought this topic up to my dr 4 months ago and was told to research Weight Watchers. My Dr said to avoid low carb diets as well as slimfast and of course any diet pills. WW has a plan for nursing moms and I have been doing it for 3 months and 17 days. I signed up online (never went to meetings) and to date I have lost 22lbs and my milk supply is going strong
They have a free week trial so what do you have to lose? Good Luck Mama.
