Good morning! The kiddos are home again (I think they are actually sick today).
I have to rip out about 1/2 of a pair of longies because I miss measured the gauge and didn't notice they were small until I got them all finished. :banghead: So that's what I'm doing today.

I just ordered more needles :yay: I ordered 16" 8's and 12" 7's (I already have 5's and 7's 16"). And I did not get bamboo this time...I went ahead with the addi turbo. The ones I have now are the addis natura bamboo. I am excited to try them.

I stil have things in mine that say pay from when I stalked for others. Don't worry about it. As long as they are paid and it is shipped the WAHM won't worry about it.

Good morning. Scanning back through the last of last night's posts, I see that worsted BFL is more of a DK weight. Now I understand why the Hummingbird Beauty handspun was looking so lacey on the #8's! I kind of thought it was thin. Good to know.
I'm craving some Elliebelly today but I don't really need it and while I love Crayon, I don't 'have to have it'. What to do, what to do.

Good morning ladies!! I got an uninterrupted 7 hours of sleep last night!! I didn't even have to use the bathroom. LOL Small miracles...
My 3yo threw a tantrum and almost missed the bus but he is back to school today. My 2yo has baby gym class in a couple of hours. I have yogurt incubating in the yogurt maker (I use it at least every 2 days - my 3yo loves the homemade yogurt with honey!).
Gotta wash dipes today. And get the puter hooked up to the printer to print a ship label. I had so few entrants in my FFS lottery from Monday. Very odd. :headscratch:
I have to wind some yarn up to finish my BG longies and then sneak in some work on my Elliot NB longies before that beautiful handspun arrives.
And my scrappies did land yesterday and here they are in action!

The funny thing is that my mother had a store years ago that stocked handcrafted items from South and Central America. She had custom made sweaters done in Peru. So I know how inexpensively (relative to US/handmade) it can be done.

Guys... I'm almost done w/ the first leg of my linen stitch longies. They will fit her fine--I've tried them on her a million times already to make sure--but they still aren't as big as I wanted them to be. :banghead:
I am so annoyed with them I don't even know if I will be able to enjoy them. :(
I was going to make them long for some growing room, but now I think I might not because I don't know if they are wide enough to bother. Maybe if she thins out.
Does linen stitch stretch a little with wear like stockinette stitch? :headscratch:
I also think I could stretch them a *little* when I block them. For growing room, mostly.

Kyna, I hope the day gets better.
Molly, I can imagine how frustrating this project must be for you: you're used to making the yarn do exactly what you want it to and in the case of the LS longies, it's doing what it wants. Can you live with putting your beautiful First Birthday longies in a keepsake box when they're done? It's highly likely that your DD will thin out and wear them for a while, but if she doesn't, then you still have a beautiful keepsake.

I posted yesterday about my mutant, err, I mean 8 yo Alex, knocking my knitting machine off the table breaking it. Well I emailed my LYS owner to see if she knew anyone who was selling theirs and she said she was about to call me about that! Someone called her to see if she would consign a machine for her and she was just about to call me to see how much she should charge :giggle2:
So, I get a used but much better machine for less than what a new USM would cost!!! :lostit: Hopefully I'll get to go pick it up tomorrow (she's closed today).

Molly, I can imagine how frustrating this project must be for you: you're used to making the yarn do exactly what you want it to and in the case of the LS longies, it's doing what it wants. Can you live with putting your beautiful First Birthday longies in a keepsake box when they're done? It's highly likely that your DD will thin out and wear them for a while, but if she doesn't, then you still have a beautiful keepsake.
Amber, how tough. That must make work very hard. And then to come home to a tough night. :hugs:

Good morning! I'm still trying to wrap my head around the short rows...hopefully I will be able to give them a try tonight after school. Guess what DH made me yesterday? A swift! I've been knitting straight from the skein, and although I do fine with it, I can't get any knitting done unless Josie is asleep.

I think if I took this and drank more water, my whole life would change.It would. I started with it because I've got bad varicose veins. They hurt. I've had them since I was about 18. Before pregnancies, I had them all but gone. Now, both of my pregnancies, I carried *huge*. Bear especially put a lot of stress on my vascular system. My legs were a train wreck. I've been back on the ACV pretty consistnetly for about 11 months. They are doing *so much better*! I'm really a believer. ;)

I love Bragg's Amino Acids.
I'm going to hunt down the ACV today; glad it's helping. I have excellent circ (can't hurt though!) but my DH does not. He has all sorts of issues from it (like restless leg-type symptoms) and I worry about his heart. My FIL survived a massive MI around this age, but we don't know if it is a lifestyle thing (childhood in a concentration camp + smoking + horrible eating habits) or a hereditary one. So thanks!

I was going for Spring tidings but I forgot to click back over until right at 12. Oops. :blush: I guess Anna's sweater is going to be solid colored after all :giggle:
I'm considering going after the blue/brown crankies...trying to decide if the rise might stretch enough to work. He normally wears a 17" or 18", but the rest of the measurements are fine. What do you ladies think?? Not that I have a chance of actually getting them though :giggle2:

Monica, how much ACV--do you mix it with anything, water?? I buy the stuff by the gallon for cooking (I make a lot of hot sauces)--would that work or does it have to be a special kind?
Sorry for the 20 questions--I'm curious because I have terrible circulation. I wake up with numb hands and feet. I have fallen down walking to the boys' room in the middle of the night because I can't feel my feet right away when I wake up.

can't speak to the pilliness, but I am working on some shorts on corrie now and it's going to be soft, I think, after washing, but it's similar to the texture of Targhee while knitting (a bit drying to the hands) but looks like BFL, just not as shiny. I think it should be pretty durable.

I posted yesterday about my mutant, err, I mean 8 yo Alex, knocking my knitting machine off the table breaking it. Well I emailed my LYS owner to see if she knew anyone who was selling theirs and she said she was about to call me about that! Someone called her to see if she would consign a machine for her and she was just about to call me to see how much she should charge :giggle2:
So, I get a used but much better machine for less than what a new USM would cost!!! :lostit: Hopefully I'll get to go pick it up tomorrow (she's closed today).

I saw the link to he blue EB yarn about 90 sec before stocking time, tried for it, got BIN, but nada. Phooey! That is the first EB I have liked. :hide:

Corriedale is similar to BFL in terms of softness/pilling. Not quite the same slippery silk texture of BFL and slightly hairier.

I hear alpaca by itself doesn't retain shape well and it needs to have some merino blended with it so I think 50/50 should work. I have only knit with WSK merino/alpaca and they worked fine. I don't know what their blend is. It is super silky and pretty. The little alpaca hairs float around but otherwise I really like it.

I love Bragg's Amino Acids.
I'm going to hunt down the ACV today; glad it's helping. I have excellent circ (can't hurt though!) but my DH does not. He has all sorts of issues from it (like restless leg-type symptoms) and I worry about his heart. My FIL survived a massive MI around this age, but we don't know if it is a lifestyle thing (childhood in a concentration camp + smoking + horrible eating habits) or a hereditary one. So thanks!
Off to stalk now...We do too...we use it as a soy sauce...and for lots of flavoring in chicken and meats and stuff. :) (And stuff...can you tell I'm not the chef? ;))

I do mix it with a large glass of water. I use about 2 tsps per glass...I think. It's really just an automatic pour these days. You can sweeten it with honey if you'd like. The goodness comes from the raw, unfiltered ACV. It's got the "mother" in it. It looks gross...but it does wonders.

It would. I started with it because I've got bad varicose veins. They hurt. I've had them since I was about 18. Before pregnancies, I had them all but gone. Now, both of my pregnancies, I carried *huge*. Bear especially put a lot of stress on my vascular system. My legs were a train wreck. I've been back on the ACV pretty consistnetly for about 11 months. They are doing *so much better*! I'm really a believer. ;)
Monica how much ACV do you take in the water in the morning.
