:tired: this is me right now because Roan was doing :fit:all night from midnight til 3am! and I wanted to :hairpull: since i was not getting much needed  but he finally got so tired he went to sleep a little after 3am. And woke up again at 5am. He finally went back to sleep and since now I can't for whatever reason here I am. (sigh)

Just putting this out there, the previews for this week went up and i know i said I was going to be on the wagon for awhile but SMURFS!! and POOH!! I must must MUST have those two. So I will enlist all the super stalking help I can get for tomm to score those. I liked the chip and dale one too but with it having pink rainbows and stars on it...DH would kill me if I put that on his boys.

I saw that a new SBish daily thread was started and a few of us bsrb mamas are over there too. I told myself do not go in there..you do not need any sbish fitteds or wool until you find the elusive pp tree, but I failed miserably and now I really want to try an sbish wool soaker and or pants. I'll stay away from the fitteds b/c we do not need another diaper  I will however wait til my tax refund comes to buy one though.

I'm thinking of reducing the prices of the bsrb's i'm trying to sell just to get them out and get some pp to fund the two I want tomm. what are the chances they'll sell today? ;X

QOTD: tell me about where you live and why you love or hate it? or both...

 I didn't answer my own qotd. well i love that i only live a 40min train ride into manhattan, but my neighborhood is very quiet and your normal suburban town. i live pretty darn close to everything i may need like grocery stores, major retailers, and malls. there's plenty of parks and playgrounds around...what I hate is how much it cost to live here.

So I checked my checking acct today and guess what was sitting in there? My REFUND check!! The first thing i did was go order those squash sbish pants in large. :giggle2:

Morning. Sbish is my 2nd fave, so I'll probably be over there, too.

Even though I'm terrible at it, I can help you stalk, Tana. I'm not going to get any this week. I'm saving up for some wool.

QOTD: I live in small town in WV, population 30,000. I love it because our families are here to help us with the twins. I hate it because it's tiny, outdated, and hard hit by the economic crisis.

02-11-2009, 04:55 AM
morning allison. thanks for offering up to help ;) it's great that you have your fam there to help with the twins. i dont think i'd mind living whereever so long as i'm not far from family. dh was really considering moving us all to AZ before but i think he's squashed that idea for now. but he was looking into moving down south..like VA or something since he has some family there. I've never been down south so i'm not sure what it's like down there at all.

oh i have a feeling that sbish wool will be the end of me. ;X but i haven't even gotten my first piece yet so i won't jump the gun. I hope it doesn't take long to ship..i'm excited to try them. haha.

Morning Tana and Allison!

Tana, I'm so sorry about your rough night and morning. It will get better...

I'm just popping in with you early bird mamas to say a quick hello before the thread gets away from me, like it usually does...

Just got back from the exercise class. I'm really enjoying it and am feeling a difference in my energy level only 2 weeks into it.

QOTD: I live in Ottawa, Canada's capital city and love it here. LOVE it. It's the 5th biggest city in Canada, population of about 1 million. It's a beautiful place, lots of green space, parks, bike trails, the largest outdoor skating rink in the world. There are tons of children, so it's a family friendly place to be. I enjoyed it before kids too. Because it's the capital, it's not unlike DC, in that it's a civil servant town. Most people work for the federal government in some way. The only downer is that we are 2 hours away from family...

Off to start the day. I'll BBL...

:goodvibes: everyone!

QOTD: tell me about where you live and why you love or hate it? or both...

I live in Vermont and I love that its green and clean air and there is nothing poisonous thats going to bite me...we have the four seasons (though winter is exaggerated if you ask me!) and it doesnt get *too* hot in the summer.

What I hate is that winter is so stinkin long and the darkness really gets to me sometimes. It is worst November through December...

I'm not too far north of Vermont, so I totally get the weather issue. I'm trying really hard to embrace this winter thing, but sheesh - it's hard sometimes.

hi ladies :wave2:

tana i think i need a pooh bsrb too! hopefully we both score! i'm so sorry your not getting the rest that you need. it wasn't so long ago (perhaps 3 weeks) i was in the same boat. I will be sending sleep wishes your way

QOTD: tell me about where you live and why you love or hate it? We live in southern NH and I am really loving it. We moved from MA a little over 2 yrs and I like where we've settled. We're in the woods but a close enough drive to things that we need and the supermarket is only 10 min away. I've met some really nice Mom's up here. The only thing I hate about it is that everyone I use to know thinks I live in the boonies when really it is only a 45-55min drive from where we use to live. Needless to say we don't get many visitors :sadno:

good morning mamas! i thought i was caught up, but now i realize i have not refreshed since we got up 40 mins ago

Oh well ;)

SS about Roan's rough night, Tana.

Glad you are feeling better, Shannon :yay:

Nettie, you are not too far north of me either :giggle:

Jess, i hear ya when you say "i've been sitting around for wayyy too long" I am going to get on my elliptical machine today if it kills me!

I have some TMI this morning for you mamas.

X has had some weird poops since vacation. I called the ped from Vegas at one point, because it was yellow and white and very runny and stinky :yuck: But he seemed fine, so i did not worry too much. We got home last night, and he had a fever of 100.3. Not too high, but there nonetheless. I gave tylenol and went to bed. This morning, no fever, but :yuck: again!! So, i am bringing him in at 1130 :banghead:.
Only :banghead: because i was hoping to get him back on-schedule today, and that is right around naptime :gah:

Anyone seen anything like this poop issue?

BBL to answer QOTD for Tana  :bolt:

Morning, mamas...
We're on our way out the door to grab some breakfast...C got up early today, so we're getting up and out early.

Anyone computer savvy to tell me what is wrong with my Firefox? No smilies or reply buttons or anything like that show up when I'm on DS through Firefox. I can read posts and that's it. I have to use Explorer, which I don't like doing...especially if I'm helping to stalk tomorrow.

Just wanted to pop in and answer the QOTD:
We live right outside of Philadelphia. I love it because we are 2 hours from so many cool places...NYC, DC, Atlantic City, etc.
I don't like the winter, and we don't even get it as badly as some of you mamas farther north.
I love that we live close to DHs family, but often times I wish my parents lived closer...they are in FL.

Sara--SS about X! I hope all is ok. Please keep us posted after your trip to the pedi.

Shannon--sounds like the house is on its' way to feeling better. Hope it's not too much longer.

Here's a pic of C this morning pushing her longie-wearing baby in her stroller.

i am going to post a stash pic as soon as roan goes down to sleep. for once in my life all the diapers are clean! and b/c grandma put Ryder in a sposie this morning that means there are no dirty diapers in the wetbag right now so they're all still in their draw. ;D

QOTD: I live in the small town outside of Greensboro, NC. I like the area and weather, but I wish we were closer to town so that I could do more with the kids. Sara, sorry about X. I have no suggestions about the poopies.
Di - love the pic!

I'm so glad I don't like the grobaby. i was into the buzz of a new diaper on the market, but after looking at it and reading a bit about it, i'm like "meh" about it. i used g diapers and totally hated them. couldn't get them out of my house fast enough. I don't see how these are much different (besides the fact that you wash the inners).

i'm constantly nak...

BBL to answer QOTD for Tana  :bolt:

ETA: looks like i am caught up still!! :woot2:

Sara, have you changed anything about X's intake recently? I don't know if he's FF or BF, but right around the age he's at now was when Howie's lactose intolerance started to rear its ugly head, and it started out just like you're mentioning; Howie slightly under the weather, pooping about 6 times a day, always light yellow/white, runny poo that REEKED. At MIL's urging we cut out dairy to see if that was the problem and voila! His poop went back to normal, no rashes and no sickies. In Howie's case he had been FF (on a regular, dairy based formula) and right when we started switching him to whole milk is when it happened. I have since found out that the dairy protein in regular milk is harder to break down than what's in formula, so that's why he was able to drink milk based formula but not actual milk. If this is what's going on with X just know that it's NOT a big deal at all. There are so many soy replacements for things that Howie doesn't have to do without anything and actually, we are all eating a little better because of it. I'm glad you're going to the ped though. I hope it turns out to be nothing :hugs:

QOTD: I live in southeastern MA in one of the last towns that is not considered Cape Cod. I L-O-V-E living here. I can't really think of any other place I'd rather live. I get all the perks of being very short driving distances to Cape Cod and Boston without paying the costs of living in either of those places. Ski slopes are just a short drive away and the beach is in our town (and all of the neighboring towns). There are a million Italian restaurants that serve authentic Italian food, cooked by real Italians :giggle: There are a million seafood restaurants that serve the catch of the day. We live 40 minutes away from my family and 25 minutes away from DH's family, but walking distance from most of our friends. We have supermarkets, shopping malls, the hospital, parks, playgrounds . . . I love living here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. DH and I have talked about it plenty; even if we won the lottery we'd still want to live exactly where we live now, in the exact house. I mean, we'd want other vacation homes too, but this town and this house will always be our home.

ETA: We get the 4 seasons around here and it suits me fine. I start off SO ready for each season to come and by the end of them, I'm sick to death of them. Having a new one every 3 months suits me just fine! I don't mind cold weather or snow and ice, but I WOULD mind temps that got up into the 100s so living in a cooler climate is right for me. 80 is really hot around here.

Oh, and my :2cents: on the Gro Baby is . . . seems kinda gross to me. It seems like the same as if I was using prefolds and PUL covers, and I just changed the prefold but used the same PUL cover. That print is sooooo cute :) I  it!

I live in Upstate NY, just south of Lake Ontario. I did not grow up here, nor was it my choice to live here, but we are here for DH's job, basically. I could really take it or leave it. The town itself is cute and suburban, and it is part of a small metropolitan area. We don't have any sports teams or anything big events (aside from a HUGE college sports following at the big college here). I guess because i grew up outside Chicago, i am not used to missing out on all the big music tours and events like that. We just do not get those things here. I have three shopping malls within a half hour drive, and grocery store is within walking distance, so that is a plus too. There is definitely more snow than I like to deal with, but luckily my DH grew up in FL, so snow is sort of a novelty to him. He  his snowblower :dunno: I really wish my family lived closer. If my family lived here, i would like it much more :)

diana..if i showed you the back of those longies..there was a mess of pooling on the back. lol. but i am just knitting from both ends of the skien every 2 rows switching and praying for the best. ;X i guess i've just been lucky.

lol i didn't use flash and my camera doens't reallymake any noise when taking pictures so he slept right through it even though i had my big ol' nikon with it's big ol' lens all up in his face. haha

april :hugs:

I pulled both ends of the skein and finally gave up when I split for the legs. I think it was just the way the yarn was dyed. The color changes are long (if that makes sense.) Anyway, they are ugly and I don't care anymore. I just still have to force myself to sit down and finish them.

I love the sounds of Raleigh, NC. I would love to live in the Carolinas somewhere. So much cheaper & so pretty. Raleigh is supposed to be a great town, from what I hear.

i agree with jenn...i dont see it being sanitary. but that's just me so horray for one less diaper to try. ;)

DH is actually looking to see if he can get into the fire dept in raleigh, nc. that is where my qotd came from. I never really been anywhere outside of ny so i dont know where else would be a nice place to live and raise a family. but he's got me thinking. rent would be half of what we pay now for a much much bigger place. and it seems like a nice place but who knows. hey jordan..is raleigh anywhere close to greensboro?

Raleigh is about 1.5 hours away from me. About 1 hour from Greensboro though. It is a bigger city than Greensboro, but it is a nice place. There are a couple people here on ds that live in Raleigh.

Good morning girls!!

If anyone can help me tomorrow, I want (make that NEED) the Pink Polo Stripe and I wouldn't mind having a Smurfs (or a TIAN)!!

Jess: I LOVE that monkeys!! Cute. I bet it snappis really well!!

Jordan: I LOVE the new Avi, your babies are so cute!!

Tana: Love the stash! I should just dedicate a drawer to Ava's dipes, I have them in baskets on a shelf. Cute pic of Roan and I love the longies! Beautiful!

DI: That pic is too cute!! Love it!

Jen: Yay for starting the morning off right!! It's always a good feeling!

Hi to everyone else (I'm doing this off memory  )

QOTD: I live outside of NW Houston in the suburbs. It's in Cypress. I love the weather, that we don't get too much cold, but IDK, I guess it's ok. I don't know what I dislike about it except that it's been going down some as far as crime and whatnot. Our neighborhood alone has changed so much. A lot of no-good ppl living in it. Guess we might be looking to move again next year.

Morning/afternoon ladies

I have been trying to catch up, but work actually wants me to do something today :giggle:

Tana - Roan is soo cute. Love the pics. I need to get a dresser also..we have all our diapers in baskets and not working well that we are getting more.

Sarah - ;) on the UF

QOTD: We live about 3 hours south of Chicago. The town is nice..has what you want, but people are stuck in thier thoughts and ways. Not too much crunchy here, but we have family within 20 mins and 1 hour. I love that. I don't think we will ever move. That is okay..i wouldn't want to move away from family for the same town in a different state. Our seasons change also - so I like that..I would get bored w/ only 2 seasons.

Okay, gotta get back to work :(

Oh, Sarah--You must share an action shot when you get them. That color is just gorgeous.
C wears a lot of soakers in the summer, so I'm trying to focus on summer purchases for now and not longies. Plus. with the soakers being $30-40 cheaper than the longies, I can rationalize a lot better. :giggle:

Cass-- on the pink stripes. I'll try for ya!

So, doesn't look too promising for TF BSRBs selling (at least for me) unless they are in HTF prints. Booo. I would love to unload some of them to fund more UFs. I  pinning and the UFs are just so much easier for me.

Di - I love the pic of C.

Tana - Those longies look great. You even did the colorway cast off. I love your tidy drawer of bsrbs. You should move to Raleigh. That is only an hour and ten minutes from the ILs where I will be staying for awhile. I am sure we'll be visiting a lot also. That would be so cool to meet upl

Sara - I am sorry X is sick.

April - I hope the RSV gets better soon.

Jordan - Love the new avi.

QOTD - We live in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. I love the weather, ample places to eat good food, great shopping, and that there is always something to do. I hate the traffic, cost of living, smaller expensive houses, being so far away from family and friends, and no Sonic or In-N-Out. I will miss all the Asian inspired restaurants when we leave.

Sorry some your fsot isn't moving mamas. I actually don't mind buying either the old style or the trim, but I just don't have pp. I listed 2 vbsn's this morning and i'm  that they sale before tomorrow night.

sonic! can i tell you that they air sonic commericals all the time during the summer and it always looks soo good but there is NO sonic up here in ny or the surrounding tristate so what the heck gives!!

megan if we do move it wont be for atleast another year or so. Last time i checked, raleigh's fire dept wasn't taking any new applications and DH needs to pass all his fire fighting classes here first so he's not a probbie anymore.

i am trying to decide if i want to make ryder some shorties. he's a large now a days so i'm not sure if I have enough yarn of this colorway to make a large shorties. I guess we shall see.

Tana - We will still be in SC then and visiting the ILs frequently.

Di - I have a lot of customs coming up that I need to pay for. I should go for another custom to top off my UF stash at 20. I have diaper OCD issues. Right now, none of the prints interest me. I told myself that I would only buy prints I love and if it was meant to be, then it was meant to be.

There back from some eventful housework.

I was doing laundry and came downstairs to find the 8 month old halfway up the second step on the stairs...since WHEN can they climb at 8 months?!

Then I had to lower her crib mattress and she didn't like waiting for nap while I did that and put her new sheets on.

Plus DS doesn't want to nap so thats not going so well...my GOODNESS!

On the plus side I can *feel* the fresh air in my house...I left the windows open for like 20/25 minutes and it almost felt like spring for a short time...

Jordan--Wow, fabulous trade, mama! What scent ENI did you get?

Megan--you crack me up with your diaper OCD issues. I still can't believe you sold your entire TF stash.

Jaclyn--Buy those cerise longies, please. They are gorgeous and they are calling my name, but I have nowhere close to that kind of PP.

Shannon--Wow...your DD is learning the ropes of getting around quickly. C just learned how to get up one step this week and she's still not standing in her crib. :crossfingers: I didn't just jinx myself. Her crib is a pain to lower, DH and I almost killed each other trying to do it last time. We should have just lowered it all the way instead of just the one notch. That's the weekend project.
I have my windows open, too. It's nice to get some fresh air flowing through this stale wintery house.

We are back from the pediatrician's office. I did not see his regular doc, just an on-call that i have never met before. She seemed nice and knowledgeable, but she said that she *thinks* it's just a stomach bug (viral) and we have to let it run its course. I kept thinking about what Jenn said, about howie's lactose intolerance, but the Dr. insisted that she did not think it was a food issue :headscratch: This has been going on for a week now, so i thought i had her for that :giggle: but she said for babies, bouts of diarrhea can last two to three weeks :yikes: IDK. I am not happy about the idea that this will continue, one way or another, so tomorrow i will deprive X of his yogurt and cheese :sadno: and we'll see if it improves. He likes tofu, too (we gave it to him at a japanese restaurant in vegas) so i bought a big chunk of it today at the grocery store, so maybe that will replace his favorite cheese for one day. THanks for the support mamas!!

Sorry, now i can't remember my responses for the thread  but WTG Tana on selling the lot! :woot2: I thought i saw Kellie posting on there last night :giggle: Kellie!! Where are you?

I was actually just peeking at the computer on and off to see if you had an update on X.
I'm curious to hear how he does without dairy, too. However, you did have a stomach bug in Vegas, didn't you? Just thinking perhaps that shouldn't be ruled out, either. It's so hard figuring things out for the LOs, isn't it?

I actually bought some tofu when we went food shopping yesterday for C to try. I can't wait to give it to her to see if she likes it. Do you cook it any special way or just give a chunk of it?
I meant to tell you that you inspired me to make her a turkey burger.....she loves them. :)

Please keep us posted on X and the dairy. Thanks for the update, I was thinking of you.

My niece was climbing stairs at... 9 months? Earlier? She was crawling at 5 though, and walking at about 9. D learned to climb the stairs before he figured out how to pull up on stuff... i think it helped him learn. He can just zoom up the stairs now... thinks it's great fun.

QOTD: I live in Smyrna, just barely OTP (Outside The Perimeter). So basically Atlanta. I love it, love it way more than Omaha/Bellevue, where i was before we moved here. There was some comedian that was making fun of people who 'like to live where there's seasons'... he said something to the effect of, "So do I, I just live where we got rid of the ones that suck." That's atlanta, pretty much. :) We're 1100 miles away from the family, which sucks sometimes but it's worth it for the weather and stuff to do and decent jobs out here. So we survive.

D has been a terror. I don't know what his problem is but he's back to waking up at 3AM and wanting to stay awake. Can't blame disposable diapers this time. I'm on antibiotics for the UTI so maybe that has something to do with it... who knows? I just wish i was getting more sleep.

That's the funny thing, he's eating LESS during the day than he ever has and i'm baffled. But something was bugging him last night because he wanted to nurse constantly, and not like he was hungry, like he wasn't feeling well and just wanted a boob in his mouth. And when that's the only thing that will console him... i don't get much rest. This morning i tried to nurse him when he woke up and he wasn't having anything of it...just kept smiling at me and trying to stick his fingers in my mouth. Rob tried to give him yogurt and he had maybe 2 bites and a few cheerios. I wonder how he did at daycare today. I'm used to him eating every 2 hours day and night so having him not finishing his bottles at daycare and refusing to nurse in the evenings until he goes to bed is freaking me out. He's not eating that much for solids, either, so he's not replacing it with anything. Seems to have plenty of energy, thankfully. I just can't figure out why he doesn't want to eat. :(

Starla--SS about D. I don't know how you function at work with so little sleep. IDK, is he getting any new teeth? That usually is a tell-tale sign of not wanting solids from what I've heard. Hmmmmm.

Maya--C still isn't crawling on all fours with belly off the floor. She drags herself across the floor, and would rather push her toys standing than crawling. My house isn't ready for a walker. :giggle:

Well, we both used to go to a chiropractor a few years ago and she told him to try nasaline, which is the syringe thing. He hated it. Then, when I started practicing yoga my instructor told me that he uses the neti every day and it works wonders for keeping dust out and keeping the passages clean. So, I bought one to try it out. I had a larger learning curve than DH...I swear, I felt like I was going to drown the first few times I tried it. He likes using it for some reason. :giggle:

Hi everyone! I was wondering if I could join you. My name is Melanie, and I recently bought 4 BSRBs to add to our stash. We also use GMs and sometimes BG pockets. I am wishing I had found BSRB sooner. They are so trim! I think my ideal stash would be a 12-15 each of BSRB, GMs, and BGs. I have 2 kids, Brynn (dd) just turned 4, and my ds Collin just turned 2. I know our CDing days are numbered with him, and I am strangely a little sad about that.

QOTD: I live in AZ, and you can probably guess what my #1 dislike would be about living here--SUMMERS! They are pretty brutal, but we have a pool and we travel alot in the summer, so its bearable. I do wish basements were standard here. The things I love about where I live--it doesn't snow, and everything I need is nearby (most of our family, malls, grocery stores, doctors' offices).

Sara - You should get it. I think I would actually need a Med. I do not really like soakers but I thought it might be good for under pjs, over a bsrb.

Di - :yay: for yummy wool. I love trading non-cd items for cd items.

Annette - Great fluff!

Megan - Hope you get more sleep soon!

So Blake just cut through 2 more teeth, top left middle and fang. That makes a total of 6 teeth, 4 on top and 2 on bottom.

Oh, I didn't hear the beginning of this, but we think DD has lactose intolerance now as well :( She was vomiting and had horrendous (I mean the worst ever) diarrhea last week when she had dairy. The doctor said to put her on soy equivalents, and *poof* she was better. So, maybe she does. I hope it's the kind of thing that can go away.

I dry mine in the dryer with wool dryer balls. I am still building my stash, and I can't wait for them to line dry, lol. I think they hold up better than of my other dipes as far as pilling and fading. So far, at least...

alaina i wore the b4 1 time and then decided to sell because i knew i liked bsrb better
dont like the snaps they leave marks just like the gm's
they seems trimmer than a gm not as bulky in the bum
but lots of people love their gm's and lots love theri b4's i think bsrb is better than both for us
their still up for grabs in my siggy:thumbsup:

was he breast feeding and then you switched to formula could that be the cause of the weird poo?

I don't think so. He weaned three months ago. But thank you for mentioning it! I was so worried about him having a reaction to the formula when i started him on it! But thankfully, he's tolerated it well.

Thanks for the welcome! You guys are the most nice, warm group I've interracted with on these boards!

Heidi--I'm excited to "meet" another AZ CDing mom. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one around here who uses cloth.

Melanie,
I line (rack) dry my BSRBs until they are almost dry, then i fluff them in the dryer. Also, many of us use Ecover softener on the shells only (not the soakers) once or twice a week :) That keeps them super-soft and snappiable:thumbsup:

Thanks for all the tips on drying!

Sara--sorry that your LO is having tummy issues. I don't have any experience like yours specifically, but I can personally attest to the fact that diarrhea in babies can last for 2-3 weeks. Hopefully you can figure out what is going on and your baby can start feeling better either way!

Hi everyone, Just wanted to pop in! Ive been lurking all day, have been kinda sleepy cause I didn't sleep well last night... Anyways we are gonna go out for dinner tonight which will be nice even though it is rainy today! Having a good day, got diapers done, but does anyone elses TIANS take a while to dry? I just through everything in the dryer but I split my load into 2 cause it was a lot of diapers, but they still had to go back in for another 30 mins??? Just the shell part where the elastic is? Anyways, I am gonna get in the shower and might just check in and out the rest of the afternoon gonna do some family stuff!

QOTD: I live in yucky Michigan, in a lil town that has nothing to offer! It is terrible here, up north is where it is the prettiest, I SO can't stand winter here! DF and I are looking into Oregon and possibly moving this summer, he is also looking at a school in Hawaii, and possibly down south, my choice is further west and Oregon looks to be the one now it is just trying to get all the details smoothed out!

Jaclyn - There are Medium Cerise for 68 now. http://hyenacart.com/prod_details.php?id=70671&vid=200001

Megan . . . that was not nice!! I'm trying really, REALLY hard to stay on the wagon but I've been drying to try sbish wool, and those are the most beautiful color and J's perfect size

Sara, Howie and Juliana eat soy yogurt and soy cheese and they both love it. My supermarket is not the least little bit crunchy or organic but I have been able to find those things there. The brand for the yogurt is Whole Soy and the brand for the cheese is Veggie Slices (or if you get a bag of shredded, it's Veggie Shreds). I have used soy cheese to make pizza for Howie and he loves it! It might not be worth your while to try soy replacements if you're just testing out the lactose free diet, but if you see an improvement, definitely use them. Howie LOVES yogurt and cheese.

Yea my children tend to motor around pretty early. DS was walking at 10 months...just a bit crazy if you ask me...since he hasn't stopped moving since :lostit:

Seems as though she might be in line to compete with his start time too...she LOVES to walk around the house holding my fingers...its only the beginning!

Juliana was walking at 9 months :whoa: and she can climb up the stairs at the speed of light. She has been a pretty fast developer.

I am also convinced Blake will be walking soon. LJ didn't full on walk until 14 months but Blake has done everything sooner. LJ was much more cautious and still is.

That's my kids to a T too. Howie was a much slower developer who was (and is) very cautious and methodical about everything. He wanted to know what he was doing before he did anything. He crawled at 10 months and walked at 15 months (to the extreme relief of his 9 months pregnant mama!). Juliana is the other way . . . she wants to do first and then find out how to do as she goes. She is my reckless baby. Now that she's at more of a comparable age to Howie, the difference between their development is quite something; she is already talking where he still is barely talking for his age. He screams and runs from the idea of the potty where she delights in sitting on it with her diaper off. BUT . . . when he gets serious with talking, it's going to be full sentences. I know that's what he's waiting for. When he agrees to sit on the potty, he'll be fully potty trained within a week or two. That's just how he works. He brings me to the point where I think something is wrong with him and then he just does things like he's always been doing them. Sigh.

Hi Melanie! It's nice to "meet" you!

jordan my eni came today too whoohoo
and my electric bill:banghead:
1 month $425 another reason i hate this house its only 1800sf. but the windows are old so are comes in and gets out theri even tho we put plastic up
last month it was over 3 my daughter was using a lil heater in her room at night we thought that was it we havent used it all month and it still went up
i turned it off at least its warm today
i shouldnt have to walk around in a jacket in my own house and when i did it still doesnt go under2
another reason i hate it here
next home when im rich and win the lotto is goingf to be all solar
obama make them start making homes more efficiant and solar:thumbsup:

I'm busting out my violin Maya. Our electrical scratches $500 every single month. We have a separate chest freezer, separate fridge and a 240gal aquarium with an extra 120gal separate filtration system. Also, in the winter we're keeping the hot tub hot, and in the summer we're filtering/heating the pool. Our electrical bill bites.

Howie is doing better now than he was in the beginning. He can eat some real cheese now without a rash/weird poop and if he eats real ice cream because that's all that's around, it's not the end of the world. In the beginning it was though. Any dairy was a disaster in the very beginning. My niece is 7 and she had the same problem as Howie but now she is mostly grown out of it.

So . . . I had a great day today! I went to the mall to return something I bought yesterday that didn't fit and to use up my Express gift cards. Lemme tell ya . . . it is a real delight when you bring an arm load of clothes into a dressing room and almost all of it fits exactly the way you want it to! I haven't had that experience in awhile. I, um, used up the gift cards, and I also got a couple of new bras from H&M. I am apparently a 34C. That's what size fit me like a glove! I have to be picky about bras because I guess my shoulders are really short and I can only buy bras where the whole strap is adjustable. I found a great fitting bra with fully adjustable straps for $17 at H&M so I bought two. Now I'm thinking about shoes. I have a bunch of cute tops for warm weather and I got a pair of GREAT capris and a totally cute white skirt today so now I need to get some shoes. I have all the black sandals I need but I need some more brown ones.

I already did my grocery shopping and a trip to the PO and now I'm about to unload my car and then try to hit the salon before I pick up the kids. Later!

Geez...I was gone for 15 minutes and holy posting! :giggle: I guess all of your kiddos are napping. I feel like I got ripped off of my 2 hours of :bliss: during naptime. However, C is relaxing peacefully with me in the living room. Not sleeping, just chilling out.

Alaina---if you want to try a cute, girly B4  :giggle: I actually like them so much better than GMs because the long soaker has snaps that uh...cover the other snaps. The BSRBs just fit her so much better that it's time to let the B4s go. The B4s are soooo absorbent. (something is going on with my spell check, so if I spell something wrong, I'm sorry. lol. I have mommy brain with spelling these days, I used to be such a great speller.)
SS to hear about Reese and how violently ill the dairy made her!

Sara--Wow, that's a very big piece of info that DH is lactose intolerant. X very well be. I'm really interested in hearing how your experiment goes.

As for drying...I do both. The weather has been mild the past week or so, so I dried outside and then fluffed in the dryer on low with dryer balls. I wash with ecover once/week and it works wonders. Just on the shells, though. However, I *think* Jordan uses ecover on the doublers, too. I'm not that brave. :giggle:

I'm very happy with my wool package that arrived today. The Luxe soaker is actually lime with orange trim. Neither of those colors are in my top 100 favorite colors, but again, it will do the trick for play, etc. this summer.

We were wondering where you were. I think it is the whole first born, second born thing with development. Blake sees LJ doing all this stuff so he wants to too.

:yay: for the great shopping day. I would love to go to a H&M. I have never been in one.

Sara - I must have missed the whole lactose intolerant post. I will have to go back and read it.

Blake is napping and John is waiting to be called in. I was going to go grocery shopping but our property manager has someone to come look at our house. That is priority

We use GMS... and Mutts... and now BSRB... I think each brand has its own benefits!

Goodmama:
Pro: Cute Prints, AMAZING Aborbancy, and Organic Materials
Con: Serging (some babies are allergic), Exposed Snaps (theres a learning curve as too how to put them on with out the snaps hurting the skin), Really Expensive. Snaps, Giving you limited sizing!

Mutts:
Pros: Great Fit, Not bulky, Organic or Natural Inners
Cons: Finding the style that works is a pain, not always great CS, sorta pricey. Snaps giving you limited sizing!

BSRB:
Pros: REALLY TRIM (although I haven't tired a print I only have the TIANS), can use various closures, Organic inners! Limited serging! GREAT price! NO snaps or Velcro meaning you can adjust the sizing to fit perfectly
Cons: Hard to get a hold of! Have to learn to use a snappi or pins if you dont already know how.

Hmmm I dont have any prints of the BSRB so I cant go to much on those I but I love each of my different diapers for different reasons! We use GMs for when we leave the house cause they hold more for longer. We use Mutts for every day or for the sitter, and since I only have BSRB TIANS right now I only use those for night but they are AMAZING!!! Fitteds make up one half of our stash and the other is pfs! But I would RATHER have more fitteds, I am gonna be getting some more BSRBs for around the house as well!

C is a super soaker and so far I've tried B4s and TIANs at night. The TIANS are fabulous paired with a good wool combo. We use BGOS on the nights DH gets C ready for bed, and I've found they are just not holding as well as they used to.
The TIANS are super absorbent and you can fold the soakers in areas where your LO needs the most coverage.

Popping in, but those aren't Ultimate Fits. They are definitely TFs.

I think the two top ones in the bottom photograph look like original fits! Maybe i'm just smoking crack though... the crotch looks wide and they look more 'square.'

Sara, good luck with the pooping. :( FWIW yogurt generally does not cause people that are lactose intolerant trouble since it's cultured, and kind of the same with cheese... some cheeses are worse than others. I've been lactose intolerant since high school... all the sudden i just couldn't handle ice cream, and then it spread to other types of dairy. About 80% of the world's population is lactose intolerant... if you're of european descent you likely can digest dairy, but asians, native americans, and african americans tend to not be able to.

Sounds like Rob is home with the boy... i gave up on the migraine and came home to sleep it off and now i'm sitting here feeling all nauseous and shaky from it... they go away eventually but i feel all weird afterwards for a while. I hope it stays away, usually i just stay in bed and sleep it off when i wake up with one but i needed to go to work.

I did not even look that closely  Well, that is crap! She can't advertise them as UF if they are TF or maybe even early TF (ones on the top) :headscratch:

Which wool is best to use with fitteds at night? Interlock, knit or recycled?

double-layer interlock is best for a super-soaker, but i use thick knitted and recycled for my DS. I am too cheap to buy the sbish double layer soaker... but i am surely tempted :giggle:

Thanks for the info about yogurt and cheese. X has asian and native american in his muddy mix of descent  It could be anything. I would almost prefer the stomach bug at this point. I guess we'll see... We are on tofu, veggies and fruit for now, just in case ;)

I love that the baby has been in a BSRB for about 1.5 hours now coverless and the outside isn't even close to damp yet.... *ahhh*

For Juliana (who is a light wetter) we don't even use covers over our BSRB most of the time. Yesterday we were at the mall for 5 hours and she had on the same coverless BSRB for 3.5 hours with just cotton sweat pants over it, sitting in her stroller, dry. I mean, the inner of the dipe was wet but her crotch was dry to the touch. I really, really  BSRB.

Which wool is best to use with fitteds at night? Interlock, knit or recycled?

I think interlock is best for overnights. I get the best wetness protection from interlock.

Back from getting the kids. DH says he'll be home around 7:30 :banghead: I am SOOOOO ready for this stupid bar to open. And again . . . why is he the only one who can go after work to supervise the construction? He seemed sincere in his desire not to spend the whole night there tonight after spending the whole night there last night (while the beer lines were getting installed) so WHY doesn't he tell one of the other guys that it's their turn?!? I am thisclose to calling one of them myself (the other guys) and telling them that it's their turn. Ugh.

But mostly, I did have a nice day today so I'm not going to let this little bump in the road ruin it for me. I'm off to bathe the kiddos!

Oh, and about the TF's advertised as UF's...Maybe she got them FSOT and is confused or unaware, you know? Just a thought...

Before I found the BSRB love, I arranged a trade for a GM. Would it be wrong to list it FSOT? I know it's mine now, but I feel kind of bad for some reason. I guess because the FSOT is flooded with GMs from the buy two sale. I'm over-thinking this, I know.

Allison, I was thinking the same thing that maybe she didn't know they were really TFs but I wouldn't advertise them as an UF if I didn't know. I am sure she wasn't intentionally trying to trick people. You're right. Some people don't know the difference.

I also think that you are allowed to do what you want with your GM. Whatever you traded for it cost money somewhere down the line. It has worth and it is yours to do as you wish.

Sooo . . . I still have not heard back from a mama that I PMed about one of her FSOT items. At first I PMed her seeing if she'd be willing to trade for some things I have that she was ISO (mentioned it in her post) and I got no response. So I PMed her again saying that if she was not interested in trading I was also interested in buying and I had funded pp ready. Still no response. Should I bother PMing her again? Normally I wouldn't but I *really* want the item in question. WWYD?

The only thing about the mama with the TFs listed as UFs is that it also says they were "washed and prepped but never worn" :headscratch:. So, IDK. I don't want to assume the worst, but if she did receive them new, what is the chance that she did not know if they were TF or UF? The only thing i can say at this point is maybe she just forgot which ones she was selling, but that sounds a little far-fetched, sadly.

so went to the play area at the mall today
and my son was tryin to play in this lil house they have this girl same age grabs him by his shirt and wails him in the back like 5x b4 i could get their
i tell her firmly to keep her hands to herself and she is not allowed to hit
i do not knwo where he rparents are but another mom says thank you to me because she hit her son too
i dont mind if kids are playing and aggressive but if you hit out of anger im gonna say something if its my kid or not especially if my kid is getting hit
also i think kids who have kids that r aggressive know theri children and should watch them around others
so i see alot of quiet parents that dont like to say anything to other peoples children even if theri are doing something dangerous
do you ladies speak up to other peoples children?

This actually looks like a better deal. http://hyenacart.com/prod_details.php?id=91975&vid=200001
That is a great deal, but it ships from Canada... i am way too impatient for that (and of course, they are girly anyway... but still!)

:cowwave:

Just popping in to say hi. I have been seriously MIA lately. But Im slowly coming around more often...

How is everyone??? :hugs:

 Kellie. I was wondering about you. Hope you are doing well and not working too much! Where have you been?

to all my ladies that were talkin tofu today
we had some for dinner had 2 pk sitting in the fridge
tofu stir fry and tofu nuggets and my son who never wants to touch it ate 3 of them tonight:lostit:
and we killed it all yummy

Sounds yummy!

DS was soooo hungry tonight! he ate a ton of veggies, and then i gave him tofu. He ate like 1/4 cup of it! this kid is crazy for the stuff :giggle2:. I am not sure what I should try to make with the tofu though :headscratch:, other than just cutting it up and feeding it to him. I dont' want to start him on a "nugget" thing just yet, but IDK what else I can make.

If there are no parents around yes, I will...I had a group of 4ish year olds bullying my TWO year old at the park one day and the parents weren't paying attention/responding...I told them to cut it out...not exactly in those words. My poor little guy, still makes me teary and it was like 6 months ago! He was *so* confused.

I think you did the right thing. If it were my son that they were hitting I would most definitely say something. And if I saw a parent around, Id say something to them too.

If it is serious enough, yes i will speak up to other kids. Depends on situation, though.
