So i had my wisdom teeth out Thur and they had to put me under to get them out so the Dr said no nursing for 48hrs and MIL and DH said I should just wean her for good. So far so good she asks for milk and pulls at my shirt but is kinda ok with it dh has been putting her to sleep for the first time in her whole life and he hasn't given up which is very surpriseing to me. I guess I am happy to feel a little more independent but I am just sad too because I feel like we are going to lose that bond or like she won't like me best anymore, I know it is silly but she has always needed me and now I feel like she won't need me as much anymore. I guess she has got to grow up some time :crying:

IMO it's not your MIL or DH's decision on when to wean. It's between you and your daughter. Just because she still nurses, doesn't make her a 'baby'. Weaning has nothing to do with growing up. It sounds like you don't want to wean and it sounds like she still needs that bond with you. :hugs:

I had to be put out when I had my wisdom teeth pulled and I only had to pump and dump for 6 hours. I'm so sorry they told you 48 hours...

I know how you feel though... I felt the same way when my DD1 weaned herself. We just found other ways to bond.

According tokellymom by the time you are awake enough to hold baby safely you can nurse!!! Your doc/dentist is just not educated in this and is CYO about it (like most docs).

Please don't wean over this!
