I have had Braxton Hicks contractions the past 2 nights. Only 2 or 3 night before last but quite a few last night. Have had 2 today. I did this with my last 3 babies. With last baby, it started at 14 weeks and I was put on progesterone shots-YUK!!! I've got to go out of town this weekend (5 hrs. away) so I called and they want to see me-I'm so scared they'll put me back on those shots. DH had to give them to me and he wasn't very good at it. Of course, I'll do whatever I have to to make sure baby is ok. But I'm bummed.

My uterus like to "practice" - for a long time.:giggle:

I didn't have any with my last pregnancy. My water broke, I went to the hospital and the first thing close to a braxton hick was a real contraction - weird!

I've been having them quite a bit lately as well. If I over-do-it, they are more frequent and more bothersome, so then I take a break from what I'm doing obviously! They say they happen earlier on with subsequent babies, which explains why I never even had them with #1, and started having them by 16 weeks with #2, and started having them a few weeks ago with this little one, around 14 weeks!

I'm with gogreenbaby - I never had any Braxton Hicks last time... I hope that you don't have to do the shots this time though snugglesunshine - my fingers are crossed for you!

Yep I've had a couple already too. I'm not a fan :giggle: Mostly they happen at night, or early morning, when I really need to get up and pee. Or they happen when my pants are too tight, like when sitting in the car or something for a long time. Anyway, I haven't had more than 2 in a day yet, so I'm thinking that's a good thing. I had problems with ptl with my last pregnancy, so I really really don't want to have to go that route again this time

Thanks for the replies. I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one. With dd#2, they started at 32 weeks, then at 20-something weeks with the next 2, 14 with last one, 16 w/this one. It's not like I'm new to this, but all the losses cause everything to make me more nervous than usual.

I was on my feet a LOT yesterday.

Going to doc at 3:50 this afternoon.

I don't start getting mine until about 25+ weeks.

Hope you don't need to do shots mama. :hugs:

I get mine way early too. My body always seems to want to start early (way early) and then have to get shots too.

Hope they stop

Well, doc appt. went fine. He listened to heartbeat-fine. And did a pelvic exam to make sure I wasn't dilating-bluk! He said everythings closed up, cervix still long, etc. and that my activity was going to dictate these contractions and that some women are more prone to these (and also more aware of them-for instance, all of us who have had several babies and know what's going on w/our body during a pregnancy).

He said I had to rest more, not do as much (laundry, cleaning, walking, etc.). Suggested drinking something and then lay down when they start.

But good news is---NO PROGESTERONE SHOTS!!!!:yay: :yay:HALLELUJAH!!!!!!
