How did you mamas do it? Did you visit a bunch or just settle on whatever was in your "zone?" My daughter will be 4 in July so I have some time, but I'm starting to research it a little and it is kinda overwhelming!

we're actually moving to get into a better school district! luckily texas has a grading system for it's schools called the academic excellence indicator system (http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/perfreport/aeis/) and it's like consumer reports for schools! you can look up current and past test scores, attendance ratings, classroom ratios, etc etc. it was the basis of our decision making process but we also asked everyone around town what they thought of the schools their kids went to. the town we're moving to is right outside the city we currently live in and has a much lower crime rate so that was an incentive as well. you can find a lot of good information online as far as parent reviews go, but i would definitely research to see if your state has some sort of standardized rating system. good luck!
