I was just wondering something. My last three pregnancies I havnt had any trouble getting so. My 1st I was actually on the pill when I conceived, second had been off the depo for 6 months and was pg within 1 month of trying, 3rd, was off the depo for 3 months, hubby came home on leave we had sex one day and she was conceived. I got the mirena after having DD that was may of last yr. Well april 10th it fell out. So we figured we d try. I have been marking down the days we have sex and the days I have my period. Its usually pretty normal with about 28 days in between. well I charted my fertile day as the 24th. we had sex the 20, 21, 22 and then again on the 25th. I have been moody and irratable lately but I was the same way on the mirena. I m just wondering if its coming down from that that is making me this way and the fact im due for my period soon or if there is a possiblity i m pregnant. I have also been feeling a pulling sensation in abdomen and right side sometimes.
Also I was wondering for those of you who have been on mirena how long did it take to conceive afterwards?

Hey Mama. I'm a lurker here (hi everyone!) but I think I can help with this question. I had a Mirena in from Oct 2004-September 2007. Then it fell out. I miscarried a couple of weeks after it fell out (late September), then got pregnant the following cycle with my youngest son. You could definitely be pregnant now! Good luck!

I am TTC post-mirena as well. My first 2 were surprises and obviously super easy to conceive but this time around it's a whole nother ballgame. I ahve met several other women who are dealing with fertility issues after mirena as well so I don't think it's just a coincidence.

 yeah, one of those is me! My IUD was out in Oct and we haven't conceived since. All my other babies were ooopsies (but still loved and very much wanted) so it's a little weird for me to actually "TTC". There was another mama who is due in early Nov I think who had her IUD out the same week as me. It took her 5 cycles to conceive.

why are they 'falling out' after being in so long? I was tired of mine so I pulled mine out in August. lol I didnt actually ttc till January and I concieved that month only to lose that baby...last month I dtd 1-2 days before ovulation and DIDN'T conceive! I was shocked, that was the first time I've EVER dtd around ovulation and NOT get pregnant! What if the iud ruined my uterus??? ahh now I'm worried especially since it seems to have made things harder on all you other mamas too!
I say go take a test Bryandcam+2! Wait..I'm alittle confused about your dates but you think your about 8dpo? (Oed the 24th of March?) It might be too early...wait a couple days and then test :giggle:

Mine came out without me knowing and I became pregnant on what I think was the next cycle but then I miscarried at 5 weeks.

I had mine out June 12, 2008 after having it in for a year. First AF was June 14 and I was on a regular 26 day cycle after that. I got pregnant on August 19, so I had 3 AFs after having it out... Hopefully you have a similar experience and are pregnant!

I had dh pull mine out this past Christmas. I didn't have a period for the 2 1/2 years I had it in. We are at the end of our 3rd cycle and I was convinced that I was preggers. I thought yesterday I was having IB because I am not due for my period until the 7th. Alas, this morning, after taking my third test this cycle and getting a bfn, I wipe and find I have started my period WAY EARLY...double kicker:cry: . I sure hope I'm not messed up either. DD was conceived 3 months after being off the bcp so I thought for sure this was the month. I charted with my temp and everything! Not an easy task for me. I sure hope you are preggers. You could have a Christmas baby!! How fun!!!! Good luck.

I forgot to mention that although I'm having issues conceiving this time around, I did conceive the very next cycle after my IUD expelled with my last baby. That's another reason this is such a mystery to me.

see it scares me that i might miscarry because of having the mirena in. i had a normal period last month so im hoping i wont. idk we ll see im due for af in a few days.
I dont how i would handle a miscarriage at this point. Long story short. When I got pg with ds 1 i didnt think i was prepared. i was 21 and alone. I seriously contiplated abortion. Well saw an ultrasound of him and couldnt. I was 22 wks pg. Now i cant imagine life without him or my other two. I now believe that a baby is a person from day one and the thought of not knowing that baby makes me sad. so we ll see. hugs to all u mamas.

I'm scheduled to have my Mirena taken out soon, but two of you mentioned removing it yourself. How hard was that to do?

i dont know about them but when mine came out it literally felt like someone flicked me. thats it. there was no extra bleeding etc. I honestly thought my tampon string had popped out of the tampon.

I can feel the string... maybe just a quick tug and it'll pop out? That would save me the drive, time off of work, copayment, etc. Hmmm... I'll ask DH and see if he's brave enough.

yup...just tug on it and it'll come right out...did for me anyways lol I would think it would be easier to do yourself than have your dh do...but I guess he does prolly have longer fingers haha

Lurking, but I do think it takes longer after the Mirena. My friend Ashley it tooks 3 cycles. She had AF for the two years that she had it. My friend Anne had if for a year and has now been ttc for 2 months and is dtd every other day ALL month and still nothing! I think that the Mirena takes awhile to wear off because you are constantly being supplied with a steady stream of hormones.

I am on CD2 of our 5th cycle TTC after mirena. We did get pg, but had an early m/c on March 8th. My other 2 kiddos were BC babies so it has definitly taken longer to get preggo after the IUD.

Not hard at all. You just feel for the strings, with 2 fingers if you can, and pull it out. If you can get a finger AND a thumb to grab that would be best, but sitting on the toilet was the easiest way to get it. The dr is going to do the same thing but with tools and a copayment! YIKES! LOL

I have secondary infertility due to mirena. I have insufficient endometrial lining and had scar tissue removed from my tubes. I am now starting injections so I can conceive and hopefully keep the pregnancy. I am pretty sure I have had more than one miscarriage since the mirena has been removed.

What is secondary infertility? o goodness. now I wish I had never gotten the mirena. It just seemed like the right idea at the time.

:giggle2: I mentioned doing a home-removal to DH and he looked at me like I'd just asked him to wax my armpits. He said it was worth the deductible/copayment to him to have the OB/GYN remove the IUD. So, my appointment is a week from today. Eeee! Time to stock up on OPKs and reactivate my fertilityfriend.com account!

I wish I never got it too. Apparently the steady stream of hormones prevents the endometrial lining from building up...good for not getting pg. Well, my lining is not built up and it has been out for 8 months and I have had more than one loss, I believe. MY RE said that without the proper lining it is impossible for proper implantation and that is most likely the reason that I miscarried. I do however have a genetic blood clotting disorder that could be contributing to this. I have had m/c's prior to mirena, but I never had issues achieving pregnancy like I do now.

Ug. Well Im due to get af here on the 9th, the 11th at the lastest. So if I dont get it I m going to test again. My biggest problem is neither of our families know my mirena fell out. We are just tired of hearing you have all the children u need. So everyone pray. We ll see what happens. Everything happens for a reason right?

Figured I would stop by and let everyone know the update. I havent tested yet. Im not due to get Af for another few days. With my last two pg. I have had a strongggg adversion to coffee, alcohol, and cig smoke (family smokes extended). And with Jasmines pregnancy it was also pb and garlic. I went to make dh some sandwiches for work and noticed that I felt wicked sick to my stomach doing it. He also made coffee to take with him to work. I just made myself a coffee and everytime I get a wif I want to throw up. uggg I cant wait to test but im holding out for after the 11th. SO far no adversion to garlic or alcohol. I ll check back with news as soon as i know

OP, your story sounds like mine. Concieved DD on the pills, and DS on Depo. Just got my mirena out 4 days ago. Yes, the doc just stick her fingers up there and pulled the darn thing out! Nothing special. I could have done that!
Congrats on your preggo news!!!! Thanks for the baby dust :) I'm glad to see other mamas can get pregnant after the mirena.

TTC also since having this Mirena out for about 6 months now. Just started trying last cycle. But with #1 & 2 all Hubby had to do was look at me. So frustrating to actually have to be trying.
