My guys are id but one developed a condition similar to hydrocephalus, but benign, that caused fluid to build up around the brain instead of draining and caused his head to grow larger than his brother. Because of a larger forehead and skull it caused his eyes and features to look a bit different, so no one thinks they are identical...I always end up trying to explain and I think as they get older they'll look more and more alike.
It's sort of bittersweet, I loved that they are id and looked forward to them being identical but now I have no clue if they will look alike later in life or not...
also, speaking of mirror image twinning, mine were born with opposite undescended testes, ones right handed one left, and some other strange opposites have come up also that i can' think of at the moment...
Too cute! I hope to see some more. I should start a "most fraternal" thread. :giggle:

Mine are very much fraternal (boy/girl), but they look a lot alike!
I did find this pic. of the two together in a pic. Riley on the left and Jon on the right as you see them:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3540/3319513093_f444386dd9.jpg
Jon is heavier by 2lbs but Riley's head looks bigger as he has plagiocephaly: flattening of the head. It causes his head to be misshaped and looks bigger. He will be getting a helmet to help that.

Mine are identical... they're older though. I might be able to find some bsby pics of them and scan em.
Here are my identicals :) They are 8 months old. They look very different to me sometimes, but I don't know if that's just because I'm their mom. The one on the right is about a pound bigger than his brother, so I suppose that's a contributing factor.
Awww, love seeing pics of other sets of twins. ...everyone's so sweet! Our LOs are fraternal (obviously :giggle: ). Some people think they look a lot alike & some think they look different. :) Some people ask if they are identical. :giggle: :)

I'm a frat twin and my sister and I look nothing a like and were complete opposites growing up. I did have another set of frat twins in my class growing up but everyone thought they were id. because they looked so much alike and were a lot more similar in personalities.

They claim to be fraternal, but I'm telling you... I don't believe it. LOL. There are so many doctors these days that know nothing about twins, that can you imagine 20+ years ago? Moms today are still told that their babies have to be fraternal because of 2 placentas, so I'm betting that's what happened ;)
Cathie, wow! They really do look so much alike! Maybe the person doing the DNA test was wrong. LOL. Probably not, I know, but I'm just surprised. :) Either way though, your children are all beautiful.

Here are my identical nephews. One has a fuller face than the other due to twin to twin transfusion syndrome when my sister was pregnant with them. They had surgery at 18 weeks gestation to correct it, but both almost died at birth.
What a great thread! Such adorable babies and kids. Here are a few of my identical girls. They have slightly different shaped heads and both had plagiocephaly in the same spot due to how they were positioned in utero. The helmets were a big help, but Madelyn's face is still much rounder than Lydia's. Also, Lydia has an 'ear tag' (extra piece of skin by her ear) and a mole on her leg that makes it pretty easy to tell them apart.
Great Pictures! I'll try to post some of my identicals! They are different weights so you can totally tell them apart.

I have ID boys that are older. They were hard to tell apart when they were little but now I don't know they look much alike at all. One is actually 10lbs heavier than the other.

I'm a twin, my mom says identical and we do look a lot alike but we've never been tested. I'm always 20 or 30 lbs heavier than her in our adult lives so we don't look as much alike anymore  I also have a bro/sis that are fraternal but I don't have any pics of them on my computer.
This was a couple of years ago. I'm in the green:

Ours are identical MoMo twins...
Though Charlotte is a bit bigger still than her sister Ruby Jane...
We had to get earrings to tell them apart...

Here is me on the left and my id twin on the right

ETA that we didn't know we were identical until we were 23. We had the dna testing done for my mom for mother's day. My mom always wanted to know - she suspected identical but just never had the "proof". Two sacs, two placentas, etc at birth so the docs actually said back then that we coudln't be identical - HA!

What is MoMo?
MoMo (Monoamniotic) twins are identical twins that develop inside the same amniotic sac. Also known as MoMo twins (Monoamniotic-Monochorionic), monoamniotic twins are always identical. These share a placenta within their mother’s uterus, but have two separate umbilical cords for nourishment. Monoamniotic twins are rare, occurring in approximately 1 in 35,000 to 1 in 60,000 pregnancies. Monoamniotic triplets can also develop, but this is extremely rare.
Unfortunately, monoamniotic twins are at great risk for health complications due to the close proximity of the two umbilical cords in the amniotic sac. This makes it particularly easy for the twins to become entangled in each other’s cords, or to compress one another’s cords, endangering their oxygen and food supply. The survival rate for monoamniotic twins is approximately 50%.
Our girls came at 30 weeks due to cord compressions.. weighing 2-9 and 3-3 but they are healthy and doing great now!!!http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/images/1/cffcf10d6527b4f8ab4bc2f0e880bd51.jpg]http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/images/1/cffcf10d6527b4f8ab4bc2f0e880bd51.jpg[/url]
