I love DS because non of my real life friends cloth diaper and it was really lonely to start cloth diapering without anyone to bounce ideas off of. I love DS for many reasons. What brought me here was my need of information on all the things dealing with cloth diapers... where to buy, what to use, what detergent, how to care for them, where to find deals, what exactly IS available. None of my friends or family cloth diaper so I was starting from scratch. I got so much information that I always come here with ANY questions I have. The mamas here are very supportive and caring. There is so much kindness that I keep coming back... several times a day! Not only can I talk with them about cloth diapering, but I can talk about other subjects that have nothing to do with diapering, too. I came here when I was looking into cloth diapering, but I absolutely fell in love with the community! I've been a part of a few different parenting/new mom message boards but have never found an online community that is as friendly, respectful, and welcoming as the mamas are here. I have to say that When I first came to DS I felt extremely out of place. I don't have any kids in Diapers, I don't Breast feed, and I am not much for being Crunchy. BUT as time has passed I have come to realize DS is a place not only to find great diapers at great prices, but you can make FRIENDS. I love DS because it is such an caring and supportive community. While there are so many diverse mamas, you can still find someone to relate to at any point in your life. Oh, goodness! I am forever grateful to HMDocsLady for introducing me to this site! I initially visited with the sole intention of buying a few cloth diapers to see if it would work for our family. And I found some great deals! But I KEEP visiting DS because it's such a wonderful community! I have never experienced such a large group of women (and a few men) with such a wide range of knowledge and advice - it's wonderful! The chat forums are where I spend most of my computer time now and I am amazed at the care and respect that a group of people who only know each other by screen name can show for each other!

In RL I live in a town where I don't know anyone, and I can't meet new people because I have 2 small children. My entire family is 300 miles away, and I am all by myself pretty much. If it weren't for DS I would be an extremely lonely, and misguided mama. I have learned so much from DS, and I believe that the wisdom of the other mama's on here has helped me to be a better mother. I don't have my mother here to guide me, or give me advice...but like I said I have DS, and I am incredibly thankful for these mamas!

I initially found DS in Nov. of 2007 when I was researching cloth diapers. My niece was having trouble finding the perfect fit in sposies and I wanted something comfy for her to wear at my house.

What I found on DS were wonderful mamas, with a wealth of knowledge and love to share about something that many of them are very passionate about: doing what's best for our babies.

Through the FFS forum and from the generousity of a few other mamas, who sold me "lots" of diapers at unbelievable prices, I was able to build a modest stash. I immediately felt like I fit in, even though I was childless and young. I loved using cloth on my niece and began to experiment with other brands through the convenient and affordable shopping offered on the FSOT boards. I found comfort and understanding shoulders when things were rough in my life on the many forums.

When I began TTC the moms here on DS were there to support me through months and months of wondering if I would EVER get pregnant. When I finally began having real cycles, the mamas here held my hand and cried with me as I experienced the joy of a Big Fat Positive (BFP) which turned into a negative overnight. That first loss could have been much more tragic but the DS mamas here helped me see the positives in it.

Now, I'm 9 1/2 weeks pregnant with my own baby and I have my "Due Date Buddy Group" to share all of the joys (and not so fun parts, too) of pregnancy with. The women in my group are very diverse, coming from all different walks of life, and a couple different countries! We have first time moms, moms of multiples, moms of many, and more in our group and still it's the PERFECT place for me!

I love all the feedback and discussion we share with each other about how different diapers work. The pictures of fit, stashes, storage, and more are always a pleasure to see. I could literally spend HOURS a day on DS (if my husband would let me) because I never get bored! There's always something going on.

Without DS I wouldn't have ever known the joys & benefits of babywearing and mama cloth. I would have never known how much better "family cloth" is for my skin or the tricks to saving money at CVS.

Cloth diapering is the underlying thing that ties all of us members together, but I believe by being active in the "community" each of us sees that we have SO much more in common, and it comes down to "doing what's BEST for OUR babies."

I love DS and I can't imagine DS not being a part of my life.

It has been so fun learning so much about cloth diapers and having a place to come to share random thoughts with women we know will understand because we are all moms and all concerned about finding the best for our children.

I love the discussion boards and the FSOT sections. I have gotten most of my diapers off of here and have been able to try fun diapers I never could have purchased at full price.

Besides the fact there are people who I can relate to when it comes to the all-too-elusive cloth diapering, I find so much support. It lets me interact with mothers who have the same problems as me, and it lets me know that parenting isn't always perfect, not matter where you are in the US or world. I can share in the happiness and grief of other military wives. I can learn and share awesome money saving tips with other people who can appreciate it. There are so many forums in which I feel so connected to, showing me that there are so many more sides of me than I really knew, but at the same time bringing them together. Yes, Diaper Swappers is addictive, but it is also enlightening.

Many reasons why I love DS. There are many many wonderful mommy's on here! They have taught me so much, showed me love and compassion, and have helped me out on converting to green! There is so much support on this site for everyone. I always get my questions answered. I've received alot of great diapers at wonderful prices. No way could my stash even be a 1/4 of what it is if it wasn't for DS. I love the fact that you can do trades here, it helps recycle and helps with building stashes right for us. There is always a conversation going on here and always information available for building healthy happy families. With DS being such a large variety of people I can always find someone that shares my same interests, and values. I never feel like the only one.

I'm more of a lurker at DS, mainly because I don't CD. :blush: But I've felt welcomed in other areas of the board. One of the things that keeps me coming back to DS instead of just sticking to some of my other forums is I do feel that (aside from the CD thing) there are are more mommies like me here - mommies who are thrifty, who have/want larger families, etc. And even the ones that aren't like me are still fun to chat with (minus the occasional catfight) and see the different thoughts and opinions.

I fell in love with DS when another DS mama recommended it when I asked her where she got her diapers!! She said it was the best site ever and she didn't lie! I came here for diapers and never left! I was searching on craigslist for diapers and found a link to Diaperswappers on there. From that day forward I have been addicted! I love this site for many reasons...you get great deals on diapers! You can trade and have a feedback system so you can be fairly sure you are going to get a decent trade. When I first joined I was needing to learn as much as possible about cloth diapering and I needed a place to buy from......fast forward 20 months and here I am......with a huge stash of dipes (covers, woolies)and knowledge on how they work so I guess my original goal was accomplished.

No seriously, though. I first joined Diaper Swappers in September of '06, after my first La Leche League meeting. After the meeting, several of the mamas swarmed me and said that I "had" to go join this site and I "had" to cloth diaper, lol. I was game to give it a try. I do love message boards, after all.

I love this board b/c it has a TON of variety. We can talk about our homes and families and about random stuff that happens to us. We can do a big variety of shopping, including the used items in FSOT, the handmade items in WAHM Wares, and the discounted brand new items in the Coops section. I was also tickled to see the new games that were added recently. :) But a site is just bytes without its members, and the members here are awesome and welcoming and helpful and there's always someone who has BTDT and can tell you how it is. I'm constantly still learning things, even after being here for 2.5 years now. :)

My first visit was when I was doing a web search to find budget freindly cloth diapers-noone I know cloth diapers, but my daughter's bum is sensitive to sposies. There are so many reasons I love DS. First of all, it is so nice to have a community that doesn't think you are nuts when you say you are cloth diapering. I have gotten an overwhelming amount of support while on my cloth diaper journey. When I felt like giving up, I had so many mama's give me great tips and ideas to help the problem. Second, I love having a place that I can go and not only chat, but do some shopping as well. I don't have to just shop for diapers, but just about anything I could possible what/need for my baby.

I came to DS out of curiosity. I spent many, many late hours reading the forums while I waited for my baby to fall asleep. At first, I was just curious to know why moms cloth diapered. I thought those who cloth diapered (among other things that most mamas here stand for) were out of their minds.

I started cloth diapering to save money, but have learned that there are so many more benefits of cloth for my baby and my family. We have learned to stop being wasteful and instead be resourceful.

I love DS because I live in an area where it isn't too common to practice AP and to have babies in CD. I was so overwhelemed when I first decided to cloth diaper. I didn't realize that there were SOOOO many choices. I almost gave up. But all the moms here were so nice and helpful and I was able to figure out what worked for us.

The Due in Oct 08 thread was my favorite place to go for almost a whole year, I got very close with several of the mamas there, and we continue to talk almost every day!

I love going to the thrifty families pages for great ideas, craft chat for inspiration, in the kitchen for cooking questions, and green families for new cleaning ideas! I've learned which diapers fit my needs, and there is always a picture thread going so I can see what might fit my child, which was very helpful when I was buying my diapers. I've bought and sold on the FSOT and always had good experiences.

So that is why I love DS, because it has changed my life, how I think about things, who my friends are, and who I am as a mom. :)

I came to Diaperswappers because I was curious about cloth diapering. I am so glad I did because I have learned so much! I joined DS when there were less than 500 members. As a new CDing mama and two in cloth this was the way to go! I started out the EASY way with AIO's then swapped to fitted and PUL, moving on to wool. I ahve met great mamas and found terrific firends. Wow what a question. Before I stumbled onto this site cloth diapering was just a pain in the hiney way to try and cut back and save a little money,and a little trash. Thanks to many of the mamma's on here, it has become therapy. I love all the beautiful cloth diapers. I never knew that there were so many available. Different brands, types, and fabrics. I could go on forever, and I haven't even been a member for a year. I learned how to care for my diapers, and undo most of the incorrect care. I found a place where I can buy, sell, or trade for almost any thing (and I have). But most importantly I found a place that I can share whatever is on my mind. DS and all the mamma's on here have become a friend to me. I love DS because I finally don't feel alienated anymore. I have gotten the craziest looks from people when I'm babywearing, BFing in public, changing a cloth diaper. You'd swear I have three heads the way some people look at me. I started out CDing, BFing, babywearing, etc... and I gave up because I felt so alienated. Moms everywhere looked at me like I was nuts and I felt ashamed, like I must be doing something horrible or wrong for my baby. I found DS and I realized that I'm not alone. I finally feel like I can relate to other people who want to attachment parent, BF, CD, bedshare, etc and that I'm doing the best things I possibly can for my baby. It's pretty hard to feel confident as a parent when you're suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from birth! I am able to talk about homeschooling, pregnancy, breastfeeding, adoption, and coupon clipping all while paroosing the FSOT for great deals on diapers and wool. Why do I love Diaper Swappers?
I was literally going :lostit: with all of the choices out there. So many websites have so much different information/ and items. There really are thousands of choices when it comes to cloth. With Diaper Swappers there is so much support and advice on what to use. And buying used makes it easier to try things out without spending a fortune. Not to mention the mamas who offer things FFS and offer to sell stuff super cheap to a newbie. I :wub: mamas who are willing to help out a newbie in any way they can.

I also love that it's a community coming together for much more than just cloth diapers. There are so many forums to help mamas out with different aspects of parenting. Breastfeeding, there's help, bottle feeding yep that too! And that's why I love it. It's so diverse. And sure there are moments in threads where mamas get into little spats. But that's what makes Diaperswappers one of the most entertaining and difficult to walk away from sites I've ever been on.

I'll be honest and say that I love DS b/c it gives me some adult human interaction in a day that is otherwise filled with only a beautiful, inquisitive, over-active toddler, and a hungry, snuggly 7 month old.

I love my children dearly, but sometimes I need a little 10-15 minute break to apply my brain to something else. DS give me that opportunity.

I enjoy many websites on the internet, on a variety of topics. However, I Love DS!
DS is my reality base when I feel like I am just bouncing around and not getting anything accomplished. It is my sister, my mother, my clinic, my helpmate.
I can interact here without being told I am wrong for my opinion, and I can ask for and receive opinions here without feeling silly for asking. Anytime, day or night, I have some one to talk to. I can share the moment with them, or e-mail back and forth. I can support others, as others support me. I am able to laugh, worry, cry, giggle over lives other than my own. It allows me to step out of the forest into the meadow whenever I need to.
DS is my discount super store. Where I never have to search for a salesclerk. I never have to try to figure out how to use something, or how good other people think something works. There is always help, just a click away. I can buy wonderful hand made products, from other moms, and know my family is getting the best. If I am low on funds or feeling especially thrifty, I can buy items at FSOT. And not worry about the quality, because most items can be returned if needed.
DS is a part of my household. From doing laundry, to doing dishes, from cleaning the bathroom to freshening the air, I use tips and products I have gotten here to enhance my own personal setting. And if I get stuck, have a stain I can't seem to get out- the answer will pop in my mailbox. If I want something different for supper, all I have to do is ask for some help here.
And when the rain comes into my life, I can share that, and have the empathy of others, support, sympathy, cards of encouragement. It's all here. When I am so excited I can't hold it in, I can come to DS and let it out, and have people share the moment with me. And I can openly do the same for them.
DS offers the education of hundreds of women, the experience, the knowledge. And it's all right here at my fingertips. I am forever reading of a different way to do something, even wipe my bottom!
I could go on and on, but suffice to say, DS is an important part of each and everyday.

I learned about cloth diapering a few months into my pregnancy and from that point on I have spend hours each day learning all sorts of things related to child rearing. Diaper swappers has changed my life. That sounds funny, but it is true. Until I came upon this site I never really knew what, other than being a good mommy, I wanted to do with my life. After seeing all of the wonderful things that all of the mamas make, I decided to try my hand at making some things of my own. I've never been so determined to do anything before, and yesterday, after saving up, I bought my own sewing machine :D The diversity of things to peruse and buy isnt what makes it great though. What does is the sense of community, the wealth of knowledge, and the easy humor that can all be found here any time of day. Diaper Swappers is a community of mamas who care. We care for our kids, we care for our husbands, and we care for each other..and with Diaper Swappers, we care about ourselves!

I love Diaper Swappers because it is one place out of all the many forums I am on, in which I feel the most at home. I do not feel ostracized because of my beliefs, or practices.

I have mamas here that are like minded in belief (or enough that we get along), ideals, convictions, knowledgeable about various items/fads/products, and we all take care of our own. If a DS mama needs help, we all fall over backwards to do just that - help that mama.

Many forums are "fend for yourself" or Us vs. Them, and I see very little of that here at DS, and we are SUCH a varied place.

I came here looking for information as I was interested in cloth diapering.The helpful and insightful comments and tips, the friendly and sweet mamas, and the wonderful deals on dipes keep me coming back!

When my dh lost his job, I had a lot of kind mamas here who sent me FFS dipes and formula coupons and I won a few lottos and that greatly helped build up our stash and got us through. I cannot wait until I have a chance to pass items of my own on through a lotto or FFS.

It even reunited me with a friend who, unbeknownst to me, had moved away and she was unable to contact me once she moved as she did not have my info anymore. She saw my profile on here and we have gotten back in touch because we both chose to cloth diaper our kids and do it on the best place on the web!

More than any other community I have ever been a part of, everyone seems to be here to support and uplift those around them. I love Diaper Swappers because I would have never started cloth diapering if I hadn't found this site. I was able to get awesome deals when I was first starting and I have since been able to pass on some great deal to other moms. I love the fact that no matter how long I have to go between log on time I always have great conversation and the people are so nice. I have been able to connect with women in my own town that cloth diaper and have what I believe lasting friendships. Without the women here I might have given up when I ordered bad diapers that were a struggle to make work, when I had forever stink issues, when I had/have yeast issues and when it all just seems too much on top of deployments and everything else. I see other women just like me doing it everyday and it gives me courage. Courage to go the distance, even though it means 4 or more years of washing stinky diapers and struggling with stink and figuring out what works best for each kiddo and me. It's not always as easy as it looks and I love knowing if I really need it I can come here and find a whole line of moms and dads who know exactly what I am going thru.

I have a house full of little ones including the girls- that are 20 months old triplets in cloth diapers. I think everybody has a day now and then that they need a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen to the stress and this is the place for that. I struggle to "fit in" anyway just having triplets and a large family-there are mamas with large families here, mamas on a budget like me, mamas who craft/sew like me, and most of all of course lots of mamas who love the fluffy butts! Locally I have no place to turn for any of things. All of my fellow DS mamas are soooo sweet too. I recently had an issue where I almost lost money on a bad trade and I couldn't believe all the mamas that rallied around me in my time of need. So many of them offered to send diapers and help me it literally brought tears to my eyes. To be really honest here: I don't get support like that ANYWHERE ELSE! I also love the craft forums and places to show off your stashes and crafts or things you have made. I love WAHMs and I get so inspired by looking at all the good stuff. I hope that I can finally open my own store when the girls get a bit older, but for now I get lots of great ideas and tuts for making clothes for my own. I also have step sons and teens, mamas here have those too. My 19 yr old baby boy is leaving me on mother's day to go to USMC in CA. I have asked some questions on the military family forums and they have helped me too. I really can't think of anything that DS can't help me with, lol. When nobody else understands-come to DS, there will be a shoulder for you here!

I always find myself back here. This community is so large! No matter what my question is, I am able to get an answer. I fell for DS when I first started getting into baby carriers (I was checking out the FSOT board for those :giggle:), and then my addiction to baby carriers led me to cloth diapers. Diaperswappers is the largest most active, aimed towards me, kind of forum I've found. It's a fantastic place to bst new and/or used ANYTHING and probably the best place to start out as a WAHM. It's great to not have to worry about the fees that are associated with selling elsewhere. The fees are part of business after you're really into it but for starting up you don't want to be losing huge amounts in selling fees.

DS is just a great all around site and one I'll keep coming back to. It's a place you can come to for advice, encouragement, support and so much more :thumbsup:

I have met so many mamas on here that just brighten my day. I see them post and they are so sweet, are sure to respond to you when you are in a moment of need. Of course, just as in the "non-internet" world, there are people who are snarky, mean, or just plain rude. Then there are the scammers who find this place and just try to take people for a penny or two, when in reality, if they REALLY needed help, so many mamas would come to their rescue, if they trully needed it, leaving no reason to steal, cheat and lie.

And even in these difficult economic times, the mamas on here, are sure to reach out when one of us is affected.

Last week, two packages with $60 worth of fiber were stolen from my front porch. No biggie, we feel momentarily violated and a little peeved that we are out something we spent hard earned money on.

So many ladies shared their sympathies with me when I was feeling down.

And then...they took it a step further., despite my pleas that their kind words were enough.

Lauren, a friend I met on Diaperswappers, and have never met in real life told me she had a little surprise for me to make up for the loss. I had no idea she was doing ALL OF THIS. She had mentioned a "little" surprise.

Really. I'm...speechless at the generosity.

I'm a new mama here, but not new to children my oldest is 6 years and my youngest is 18mo. I always wanted to cloth diaper and loved the Idea of it all around, from saving money to saving our land fills. Everyone including my mother who cloth diapered me due to allergies said do not do it. So I did what they said.

Until....

I meet another mommy here in the town I live in who is a mama on this site and also makes cloth diapers. She peeked my interest to say the least.. So I tried it, I'm going on my 2nd week cloth diapering with an 18mo old and I love it, he loves it and all around we feel great to be doing our part. I could of never done it with out the GREAT deals from DS mama's. I'm so glad I found DS! None of my friends cloth-diaper and everyone I know thought I was crazy for trying it! DS has given me a place to see other people's ideas for cloth-diapering, and after seeing all these home-made diapers and woolies, I'm planning to start making my own diapers, and have already made a pair of longies! And of course I love the FFS forum, and love that I can list things to sell on here!
