Well, I'm on the weight loss band wagon as well. Since Mari is now 8 months, it is time. Up until her birth, I had been pregnant mostly for 2 1/2 years, then had my gb removed, then pneumonia twice, then an ovarian cyst rupture, etc. Blah, blah, blah. We joined the gym on Mother's Day and I've been 3 x and am going today. :) Gotta lose about 40 lbs.
I like to eat - yes that is a favorite activity. We eat really well, fresh veggies, etc., but I still have a carb craving. So, working on that as well. One step at a time, right?:lostit:

Good job on getting to the gym...and it is definitely 1 step @ a time!! I, too, had been pg from basically 11/02 to 08/05 (4 pregnancies, 2 babies). On the other hand, I have about 60-70lbs to lose.
Good luck!

Carbs aren't the enemy, just the bad ones are, keep that in mind. If you like baked potatoes, try a baked sweet potato instead. If you like rice, do the brown rice thing. Etc, you are on the right track, mama, you can do it!!

When I say I like carbs - I mean the sweet stuff - lol! :) I am really good at making good choices at meals, but man oh man, I get serious cravings. I remember the last time I took weight off before my last two pregnancies, I stopped eating sugar and within about 10 days, I stopped craving it. Something to consider.

Nice work on joining the gym and actually going. I have so many friends that think buying a gym membership is the same as actually working out:laugh:
You are right about cutting out sweets and getting past that "withdrawl" stage. Make sure you are getting lots of fibre and protein too. They keep you feeling full and if you get to hungry your body's demand for glycogen translates to "I need cake" in your brain.
Good luck. Keep it up. Don't forget to do weights too, you'll drop pounds twice as fast and end up with a sweet a$$ not those flat cardio bums.
