I started my period on November 25th and it lasted 4 days. This was my first since baby so I am not sure how often it'll come (before it was every 33 days). How in the heck do you figure out when you O? Last time I was charting but only to give to the doc not because I actually knew what in the heck it all meant. now I am interested in figuring when I could've O'd and when this next period may come. BTW I am not breastfeeding any longer (an entirly different story) if that matters.

For me, I tend to have pain during O, if I even get it due to PCOS, but I would say that if you went back to your old schedule, you should be expecting your period around the 28th (Thurs). However, pg of course throws us out of whack and the only real way to test for O is to chart again. Your temp will generally be a bit higher (as little as .1 degree) AFTER O, someone correct me if I am wrong on that

Your temp will go up after you O and it has to stay up for a few days.

I don't have any pain with O, so the only clue I have when I am O'ing is CM. Do you check it? It will get really slippery and wet right around O time. If you temp, your temp will rise only AFTER you have ovulated, and you need to temp all cycle long to know what is normal pre- o and what is normal post- o. You can't really base future (and present) cycles on past ones, as it's very normal to have cycles vary in length from month to month. One can be 35 days, the next 28, the next 30... that kind of thing. i don't think too many women are consistent every single month. It would be nice though :)

If you want to track your cycles- which is so interesting and, I think, kind of fun- you should get TCOYF. AWESOME book. :) :goodvibes:

That is an awesome book! And thank you ladies for correcting me, it's been a while so I really couldn't remember . I will go edit my OP to reflect that so no one gets confused.

I think if I start charting agian dh will flip his lid. I am trying to avoid that as it seems like I am then trying to get preggers which I am not. I was just wondering the "norm", like isn't it about 2 weeks after you start or something like that? I thought there was a general guideline for ovulating, maybe I am wrong.

On a 28 day cycle, most doctors will say you ovulate on day 14. That is old and out dated information. Most women do not ovulate on day 14.

Figures!! I guess we'll just DTD when we wish (according to dh it should be like 3 times a day, acording to me 3 times a week) and if I get preggers then it was meant to be. I would swear I was pregnant right now except I'm smart enough to know symptoms take a while to start up. Although if I get sick (cold, sinus, ect) the first week of January then I am testing like a mad woman (got sick the first week of January with both girls). I think I'm just getting ready for my time of the month though.
