Ok, this is for you mama's out there that have or are currently pregnant and breastfeeding. Did your current LO ever just stop nursing? Or did they continue on nursing throughout the whole pregnancy? When did you milk supply "dry up" or go really far down? Did your LO continue to nurse or stop? If your LO continued to nurse, when the milk switches back to colostrum, did your LO like it or stop nursing? Also, when did your nipples get realy painful? Did it continue through the rest of the pregnancy or did it subside? One more question....is there anything that is safe to take while pregnant that will help increase your milk supply?
Ok, sorry for all the questions!! I better get going. My DS is getting into everything.

Not currently, though was still exclusively BFing DD2 when got pregnant with DS1.
My milk completely dried up at 12 weeks, and I had to wean her at that point (she lost a pound in weight and was already underweight to begin with). I normally have supply issues though, so not sure what would have happened if I'd been "normal". My nipples weren't painful, though she did go on a nursing strike for about 3 days when I first got pregnant (it was what prompted me to test) because the flavor of my milk changed.
Not sure about the herbals. I was taking Reglan with DS to increase supply, so asked my OB about what I should do should I get pregnant on it, and he said it was ok because they do use Reglan to help with m/s. However, with all the other side effects associated with Reglan I don't know if you want to go that route.

I have a nursing 17 month old and am 21 weeks pregnant. I'm pretty sure my supply is going down but that doesn't seem to be putting my daughter off. She is nursing less than when I got pregnant but still at 2-3 times a day.
Its been painful for me since early on....I keep hoping that will get better but so far no luck.
I've met several women through LLL who have been able to nurse through their entire pregnancy so its possible....I'm hoping I turn out to be one of them.

With my last two pregnancies, I was still nursing when I found out I was pregnant. However, my milk started drying up around 12-14 weeks. I do remember starting to get tender whenever they would nurse.
Sorry I'm not much help.

my DD was 17 months old,
milk dried up and nipples got sore around 10-12 weeks
I night weaned her when it got raelly painful and she continued to nurse at nap/bedtime (so, just for comofort) until she was 37 months old.. so 11 months after DS was born .. so, pregnancy caused me to be uncomfortable nursing so i cut back how much i let her nurse and near the end of the pregnancy i told her that big girls only nurse at bed time and when DS came she still only nursed at bedtime .. she did insist that her little brother filled up the milk though because my milk came back after he was born..i though thtat was pretty cute :goodvibes:

So far, so good. we had a small nursing strike around 10 months, but it was right back to nursing all night long.. and then things got normalised again.
I'm currently sick and it seems like my supply is a bit less, which I'm not happy about... but he's still nursing. I've never had much success pumping, but I can feel there's milk there and I doubt highly my LO would keep on nursing just to nurse, considering he's not been eating lots (teething & was ill all during the weekend) and is maintaining a steady weight.
I've had off and on bouts of painful nips, but to be honest the worst thing was having horrid morningsickness and the only thing that helped (other than medication) was nursing.
We've switched over to colostrum (I noticed this month, but not prior) and no complaints so far other than he's drinking water afterwards, as if it's too sweet or something. :giggle2:

My Middle son stopped nursing when I was about 34-36weeks pregnant b/c my milk dried up. He looked at me and laughed one day, and did the all done/all gone sign and was done.

I did child lead weaning with my first and she stopped @ 19 months I think I was 18-20 weeks pg
My second I was really worried about our relationship changing and encouraged her to bf throughout my third pg. I actually did have a weekend away and she was fine came back and she bf I didn't pump at all while away. IDK if I had supply or if she was just dry sucking!!
It did hurt me sometimes really painful.. and honestly only got better when I had my third. The nurses kept asking me if I needed nipple cream/etc after having my third and I was like "no this is the first time this HASN"T hurt!!" It was worth it :) I tandem nursed for 9 months after. :)
