Aloha Mommies,

Sadly, I am returning to work after a wonderful 10-month break at home with my newborn. I am looking for a reliable and loving babysitter or child care center for my 10-month old son. I will need someone to watch him either at my home or at their own home/facility on a part-time basis - about 20 hrs per week. I live in Kaimuki and am willing to go as far as Punahou or Hawaii Kai, but the closer the better.

I'm looking for a someone that is reliable and supports cloth diapering, baby-wearing, and organic baby feeding baby habits. I don't expect them to sling my baby, but I'd like a similar attachment parenting method and wouldn't mind someone who follows waldorf or montessori methods. This is of course an ideal situation, so if you just know someone who is great, I'd love their info too!

Do you have any great referrals or suggestions for me? My last resort is craigslist but I'm hoping I won't need to go there.

Thanks so much in advance for any help or advice!

Mahalo,
Thao

Gah! We are moving SOON, as my DH is an engineer on the monorail system that the company he works for just won last week. I have a 3 month old son and I SAH and I, obviously, cloth diaper, wear my Moby like a uniform and are as organic and healthy as possible family!

Maybe at least we could have a playdate when we move....I hope you find someone safe and reliable!
