UPDATE: Ladies we need your prayers now more than ever. My sister's 10 year old beloved jack russell is VERY sick and may be dying of an unknown condition. The dog's jaw is stuck in an open position and she can't close her mouth, eat or drink. Gabby was my sister's only way of coping since my niece died and she is a complete wreck who can't stop crying. She feels like she is losing everything that meant anything to her and that she has "nothing". My sister has always been my rock and I feel so helpless. So...even though it seems like a long shot, I believe in the power of prayer. PLEASE pray that her dog has a treatable condition. I don't think she could take another loss at this time of year.

My sister is my best friend and it breaks my heart to see her hurting so badly. She tries to be strong and doesn't want to break down in front of anyone but I can feel her pain. She has changed so much since the loss of my niece and I worry about her. My niece, Angela died VERY unexpectedly at age 20, three years ago when I was pg with my daughter. She died of an allergic reaction to cocaine that she tried with her boyfriend. My sister, brother in law and I were the ones with her when life support was removed and waited by her side for 4 long hours until her heart stopped. Angela would have been 23 years old this month and my sister is trying to hide her grief. It has been so painful for all of us and time doesn't seem to make it any better. I wish I knew what to do to help her....so that is why I am asking for you to pray for some peace for my sister during this difficult month.

Angela was their only daughter and I know that it hurts when my sister sees my daughter, Hannah since I was pg with her when Angela died and Hannah looks just like her when she was a little girl. The other day, my sister made the comment that she was throwing out all of Angela's VHS Disney tapes that she had been saving since she would "never be a grandmother." I didn't cry until I got off the phone because I didn't want to hurt her more but it made me so sad because my sister is such a wonderful woman and would have been the BEST grandmother. Now she will never have that chance.....I just wish it got easier with time but I still feel angry, sad, hurt, shocked, bitter........

I'm so sorry :( I'll be thinking about her. My brother died this year as well at age 20. Another one taken too soon.

I'll say a prayer for your family. ((hugs))

I'm praying for your sister and your entire family. My uncle died unexpectedly at 33, and I remember watching my grandmother go from a happy and bubbly woman to an old, withdrawn, heartbroken, joyless woman. My heart goes out to your sister for having to endure such a tragic event.

Tomorrow would have been Angela's 23rd birthday...it is still so hard to believe she is gone. Fortunately, my sister's dog is being hand fed through a tube until they see if the issue resolves in 4-6 weeks and the jaw releases. I just continue to pray for my sister...she can't stop crying and is an emotional wreck even though she is trying to hide it from everyone.

I was wondering how things have been going.

 for your sister and, of course, her dog.

And for you, trying to keep it all together.
