TTC is not always an easy journey. And, many times, people facing this journey do not receive the love and support they need to go through it. Now, we have a special place of our own where we can share our frustrations, laughs, and sadness without holding back.
Please, feel free to take a few minutes to introduce yourselves either for the first time, or again.
Please, read the sticky posted in this forum before posting in this thread. I think that sticky has some great guidelines to posting in this board. Also, please refrain from talking about children, as this is a sensitive topic here. We are all here for the same reason, and have to remember each other's feelings through this tough time.

Went to my ob in Jan, found out our new insurance covers nothing So paid out of pocket for bw & ultrasounds to tell me that I am ovulating regularly on cd14. 7 dpo progesterone was on the lower side (11), so ob put me on clomid for 6 months to try. Aimee-- boo on butt shots-- I hope that you don't need them, but am glad that you have a plan if you do end up needing it...

Mel-- how're the shots going? I hope that now that David's around, it's no big deal.

Stephanie-- how did the repeat U/S go? Wasn't that yesterday? Hoping that all is well! :crossfingers:

Melissa-- yay for playing in the snow when you have time off! SS AF showed, I hope that the BCPs make her go away by your appointment!

Rachel-- I think your idea about progesterone is a good one, but I'd check in with the doc just to be sure...

AFM-- so tired and headachey-- had bad cramps last night :headscratch: on the R side. It's to early to be O pain (and CM isn't right) so I'm not sure what's going on. Oh well. If I had a normal length cycle, I'd be O'ing on Christmas, however, given my wonky cycle, we'll just have to see what happens. Off to bed with me!

My belly has huge welts on it from the first 3 shots(if my belly was cuter I would show you all a pic), they hurt like a hog bite, but at least the needles do not hurt and David is here to administer them!

erin-ooh a christmas egg would be nice. :) I get cramps in my ovaries off an on the whole cycle while on clomid.

Mel-yikes, your poor tummy.

AFM-boring cd 7...nothing going on...hopefully ovulate in about 8 days so we will start bding on wednesday (although we got a practice session in this morning). :) I see the RE in 2 days to discuss what else we can do this cycle and what we can do next. I am so hoping he gives me some hope.

*~Melissa~*
12-20-2009, 11:18 AM
Erin- Come on Christmas eggie!!! you catch it!

Mel- I'm so glad David is home now and can do the shots for you. I'm sorry about your tummy :hugs:

Rachael- Can't wait to hear what the RE says!!! :crossfingers: that you don't need any plans for next month!

AFM AF is still here and heavy. :hairpull: What am I going to do? My appt is at 3:15 tomorrow after work. I guess I will just tell the nurse that my OB can't do the pap and that I want to talk to her about the other problems. How annoying. AF is always outta here on Sunday. I'm worried my appt is gonna be for nothing cause of AF. :reaction:

Melissa- It might be gross but my Dr was able to do my pap a couple of years ago even with AF, though I wasn't having a heavy af. Maybe it will be less heavy tomorrow and they can still do the pap. :hugs: I hate when AF does what she wants to...

Aimee- I am so so so so so so so sorry that you are spotting. I hate that this is happening to you. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

Mel- Hopefully you will only have this round of shots then you can be done with them for good reason. I will continue to :crossfingers: for your success this round.

Erin- Go eggies go!!!!!!!!!!

Rachel- Hoping for a productive appt with the RE

I'm so very excited to hear what the RE says!!! Come on O! :cheerleader3: Praying you catch that egg this month!

AFM AF is still here. My OB said I could have the pap, or reschedule it, so I am gonna reschedule. We talked about my cycles after BCPs (shorter and shorter LP, then no O after coming off BCPs) and some other symptoms I was having. She said that I may have PCOS or some other hormonal abnormality. So I went to the lab to have my testosterone tested. She said if it is PCOS we will do Met. She is gonna call the RE too and see if there is any other work up she or they can do. I told her I want to avoid the RE if possible at this time cause my insurance pays nothing on infertility. She said she will call them, but they may not get back to her next week because of Christmas. She said to expect a call from her next week. So basically still a waiting game. :gah:
The plan for now is to start trying again next month. She called me in 1 more month of BCPs. I guess I will just have to be patient for next week to know all the details. Oh, and I'm officially the Grinch.

melissa-i hope it is something like that and you have great success with the met. I have a friend who tried for a long time...and then after 2 months on met. got bfp. :) Hope you have the same succcess!

Starting my bcp tonight, then lupron on the first and follistim probably on the 6th...lots of shots in the butt coming up :(

12-22-2009, 01:49 PM
So just met with the RE and...follistim pen it is next month. He said i am not responding very well to the clomid in the sense of making more than one egg...but that my lining and prog. levels are amazing...75mg of hte follistim if that means anything to anyone.

He wants to pair it with a trigger and timed intercourse...he said that bding every day is probably best but it shouldn't get routine.

Info?

Aimers1
12-22-2009, 03:43 PM
That's great that you're moving on Rachael! I didn't get more than one follie on Clomid either...although I don't think I was a great responder with the follistim either. I had two follies with 150 iu and three with 225. did he give you days to start the every day? I would ask for more of a "schedule" with just timed intercourse. A lot of times with the IUI I've seen bd at trigger, then the IUI is 36 ish hours later, then bd the next two days...

rachaeljohnson
12-22-2009, 04:04 PM
aimee-yeah, he said every other day until trigger and then that day, the next day, the next day, and the next day. But for this last go round on clomid...he said every other day until like day 12-13 (since i Od cd 15 last month) and then every day until temp is up. :) What days did you do the follistim? He only has me on 75mg days 5-9 then u/s day 10. He is afraid since i already concieved twins of overstimulating.

AFM-cd10...the fun part of my cycle begins. I start opks today and we are going to bd on cd 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 and hopefully o on day 15. Or 10, 12, 14, 15, and keep going until I O. That's probably better just in case i O later...???

aimee-yeah, he said every other day until trigger and then that day, the next day, the next day, and the next day.

I did the follistim from days 3 through about 10 or 11 on both cycles. My doses were 150 the first round and 225 the second round, but I'm obviously a poor responder. I understand his concern about you overstimming. he'll probably decide on day 10 what your dosage will be for the next couple of days and get a better idea of when you'll trigger...

Hey there ladies,

Do you all want to know what is going on in my ovaries?

AFM-cd10...the fun part of my cycle begins. I start opks today and we are going to bd on cd 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 and hopefully o on day 15. Or 10, 12, 14, 15, and keep going until I O. That's probably better just in case i O later...???

:crossfingers: for O by CD 15! Either plan sounds good to me! for you.

Hey there ladies,

Do you all want to know what is going on in my ovaries?

I bet you all do

Aimee-thanks for sharing. Yeah, it seems like i am on a very conservative dose considering how poorly i responded to the clomid...but i would rather be conservative than octo mom. LOL. So i guess on my day 10us they will just up the dose or whatever and bring me back a few days later to recheck? Hope the weather cooperates!

melissa-hope tomorrow goes quickly for you and you are off to your moms!

Mel-wahoo...you kick butt at growing some follies! Wowzer. My dr. won't even let me trigger if i do get more than 3. Even though i know it will be a miricle if i get 2. You respond so beautifully. Hoping for a Christmas miricle or 2 or 3 for you!!! :)

Hi All! Thinking of you, and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

Mel - I can't wait for all your little babies!! I am so excited for all those follies! Get to work BD'ing!

Rachael - good luck with your injects! I hope this is the key.

Aimee - I will be thinking of you with your IVF. Althought I wouldn't call most of this stuff fun, it will be worth it in the end!

Hope everyone else is doing well out there.

Heading to my inlaws tomorrow in PA. 6 hour drive.. ugh. I have my u/s on Tuesday, hoping everything looks good, then you can move me along Mel! I will still lurk around here to see how everyone does. Can't wait for this place to clear out with noone left but the crickets!

AFM-cd 11. Merry Christmas Eve ladies!!! We bd last night and we will take today off and bd tomorrow...then every day until O and temp rise! Come on, i have to catch this one! :) We sat and watched the injection videos for the follistim pen and the ovridel syringe and can i just say i don't want to have to stick needles in my stomach. Oye. I gave blood 27 times in like 6 months bc of my partial molar pregnancy and them making sure my hcg dropped and stayed at zero and didn't turn to cancer and i don't want any more needle pokes...ugh.

AFM-Merry Christmas everyone. I am totally show and getting a bit more ewcm (not really a peak amount yet i don't think) but getting close. We will start our marathon today and hopefully ovulate by monday! Wahoo!!! My right ovary hurts a little.

megan-how much soy are you doing? I really hope it does the trick for you!!!

AFM-had to update...did an opk and it's like the same color as or maybe a half shade lighter...i suspect a positive tonight or tomorrow. Which is a day or 2 earlier than last month! :) I have seen it get close and go away before...but only without clomid when my pcos was giving me a hard time. :)

Hi Ladies! Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, it seems that at least Rachel and Mel are getting pretty exciting Christmas gifts!

Aimee, I'm glad that IVF is going forward-- I'll be crossing my fingers for you!

Melissa-- Metformin really helped me with PCOS-- I hope that you have the same kind of luck that Rachel's friend did and you get a really fast BFP.

Megan-- SS that AF showed-- that 12 month mark is a sad one. Hopefully your plans with soy work out well!

Mel-- :lostit: what a wonderful crop of follies! Hope that the BDing goes well! And you catch a few of those 6 eggies!

Rachel-- have fun with the BD marathon!

Stephanie-- so glad that you're off to the August boards!

Kay-- I hope that you're feeling better and that DD is doing better.

AFM- not much going on here... CM is starting to get wet, so we might start BDing tonight; we'll see, we're at my brother's where the walls are paper thin and we're sleeping in the same room as Grace....

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

erin-wahoo!

AFM-my mom thought calling to tell me my cousin is pregnant again was a good idea...now i just can't stop crying. I mean i am happy for her...but it reminds me of how broken i am. My cervix is show but not a lot of ewcm and almost +opk today. Have to go hunt down some preseed/preconcieve tomorrow...i think walgreens has it. Sigh...:(

megan-seems like a good dosage...i like that you started on cd2. :) Always works better for me on clomid.

AFM-grr...thought i was gearing up to ovulate yesterday bc my ovulation test was soooo close to positive...but then this morning it's lighter again. Maybe i missed it, i guess only my temp. going up will tell. My temp did dip like ovulating today but for me that doesn't usually happen...so i don't know. Cervix is still show, at least i know i haven't missed it. Oye. I am so over all of this. We are off to do some after christmas clearance shopping...dh wants more led lights and i want some decorations.

Rachel- I love the family picture! Since you are marathon Bding you probably didn't miss O. Sticky sticky vibes going your way.

Megan- Hoping the soy helps this month! :)

Mel- Yey for a Christmas conception. Wouldn't that be just so awesome. Sticky sticky vibes your way. Go eggies go!!!!

Erin- Paper thin walls suck!!!! I got this sticky one in a hotel room my mother's wedding night with DD in the next bed! :giggle: I am sending O vibes your way and hoping you get a nice sticky eggie in there!

Melissa- Hope the Met helps you get your sticky one! Excited for the new plan for you!

Aimee- I am so excited for your IVF I really hope you get a two for one or something awesome like that :) Even if you have one nice happy healthy one I am excited for you. I hope you only have to do the IVF one time. :hugs: I am really looking forward to transfer.

Charlotte- :waiting: Where are youuuuuu?

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. God gave me a wonderful day and I didn't throw up one time Christmas day. Can't say it continued on to today, but am thankful for the one good day I got to have. :)

Kay I am happy you felt good yesterday. Rachael I've tried it starting on cd3 and didnt really like it too much do cd2 it is!! I am also gonna try the guaifenesin the day before cd15 and two after to hopfully help thin out the cm.. I'm pulling out all the stops this month. I swear I have to do this before I drive everyone nuts.

kay-glad you had a good day! And i have been wondering about Charlotte as well...i am pretty sure she is pregnant...i just can't wait to see the actual test!! :)

Megan-hope that day makes a difference...doing clomid one day earlier really helps me out.

AFM-off to watch til' death and some always sunny in philadelphia with dh. Anyone seen Julie and Julia? There is a part in the movie where she finds out her sister is pregnant and just breaks down (in case you didn't know her and her husband couldn't have kids), and it was a really touching seen. Infertility is like a secret club or something, bc i think anyone else watching that movie would have practically missed it it was so quick.

I actually bawled every time they hinted at her fertility. I cried almost the entire movie!! I had to explain to DH why I was crying. He didn't get the subtle hints of infertility throughout the movie.
