Holy Cow! Didn't expect to be the next one doing this! Two words: castor oil. Didn't actually expect it to work, just thought maybe I'd finally use the bathroom, but apparently I was ready. Took castor oil at 8:45 this morning, walked at the YMCA for an hour, had some regular BH which took on real labour form about 1pm. Contractions were never more than 3 minutes apart. Got to the hospital at 4pm, 7 cm dialated 90& effaced (2 cm and 50% yesterday!). They couldn't get things done quickly enough so I ended up not being able to get my epidural. Screamed him out in one push at 4:59pm as the midwife and nurses frantically scrambled to get their gloves on. He came out looking absolutely perfect. 7 pounds 14 ounces born on his due date. He's my peanut!

I got it at the grocery store in the laxative section. It was only 1.39 for the little 4 oz bottle. I took the typical 2 oz (4 Tablespoons) in 6 oz. of orange juice and some vanilla ice cream. I think I could have easily done 2-3 T., but that's in the past. =) I never got diarrhea cramps and only had 2 BIG visits to the toilet, and then 2 really little ones and 1 little one at the hospital. I didn't think I'd go into labour, but apparently I was wrong. :giggle: I was just hoping for a good poo and maybe some dialation. I got both. :roflmbo:
I did end up going poo a little this morning too, so I'm assuming that's left over from yesterday, but I'm cool with that. I don't mind clean bowels one little bit. Just beware that it COULD cause a quick hard labour. I couldn't believe they said I was 7 cm when I came in! I knew there was no way they were going to get they epidural in. At least recovery has been lovely. Can't say so much for my primordial screaming birth. :mrgreen:

congrats!! i have a friend who swears by caster oil!! she was post due date with all 4 kids and this did the trick each time!!! but be careful!!
