I'm 17 weeks pregnant (tomorrow) with number 3. Ever since about 12/13 weeks I've noticed increasing vaginal pressure. I didn't have this with my other two till late in the 3rd tri. I'm wondering if this is more common with the more children you have? Both of my 2 LO's were vaginal deliveries so maybe my pelvic floor is trashed. Guess I should do more kegals? I do have a call into my OB's nurse to see what they think. At my NT scan at 11 weeks my cervix length was a 4 so really good. I have never had issues with PTL or a short cervix before.......... not sure I do now. Just looking for some reasurrance.
TIA!

I'm on number 3 and have a tremendous amount of vaginal pressure. I've been told this is normal.

This is my 3rd pregnancy. (Keep in mind, 2 of mine have been twins.) I've been having that with this pregnancy since early on too. My twins are very low in my pelvis this time which is new for me. I've always carried fairly high before. So, maybe the positioning has a lot to do with it. That's what I have been thinking. Anyway, my cervix is still long, at 4cm at 27wks. I'm 29wks now. I think it's normal. :goodvibes:
ETA - Let me qualify...I think it's normal if it isn't coupled with any other preterm labor issues, like bleeding or contractions.

I have that with my current pregnancy, #4... I had the 'normal' vaginal pressure the 3 other times but this was BAD. I finally figured out I have vaginal vericose veins, UGH.

I've never heard of that! I guess I'm going to look it up. I wonder if I have that?? :headscratch:

Thanks ladies! I figured it was normal, but wanted to make sure. My OB's nurse called back and said (like Heather mentioned) that as long as it's not coupled with cramps/contrax and abnormal colored discharge (like green, yellow or bloody) it's normal. She mentioned a belly band since I'm having lots of back pain this time too. My poor muscles are just way to stretched out, lol. I'll defintitely be doing some prenatal yoga or something to help strengthen my *ruined* body :giggle:.

I've been having this a few weeks, too. I don't know if mine is bad or not, but it is definitely noticeable to uncomfortable on and off throughout the day.
eta: I just saw that I don't meet the qualifications for this thread. haha-- well, I do have two or more on the way! :)

:giggle2: That's ok Brooke! I just like to hear that I'm not alone. I can see why you'd be having pressure early with twins so in my book you count :giggle:.

I have the vaginal varicose veins too. I got a pair of support underwear from Motherhood and the difference has been amazing. I wanted to try this before a belly band as it's easier to deal with for work.

Gonna try some support undies before one of those belly bands too. Thanks so much ladies!

I got the 'belly shaper' from Motherhood, they were up front in boxes rather than hanging with the rest of the underwear. They were $16.
