Morning ladies, sorry I've been gone, life with 3 is busier then I thought, plus I'm still finishing up some diaper orders. After my last orders are done I am done and closing shop, other then for friends and trades, I'd like to concentrate on my kids' wardrobe for a change.
Mal's such a sweet baby, he sleeps a lot, especially at night (3-4 hours at a time). We are starting to get a routine going and I'm really liking it. Also I got to go shopping on Sunday, for me, I got some real pants and I'm only a size up from my pre-pregnancy size and about 5lbs from my pre-pregnancy wieght, but I only ended up gaining 16lbs. I'm still a little bit in a daze and my house is a wreck, I just can't wait for "normal" to finally set in.

Morning ladies.
I was up until 5 with Solomon. He just couldn't settle. :headscratch:
Melissa - Woah, same here! In fact it's 11:30 and I *JUST* woke up. Hazel is still asleep, some how Rosemary is still content in her room, and my husband is asleep as well. (He was up with Hazel until 4am and I took over until 6am when she finally decided it was time to sleep) Rough night!
Naomi - totally can't wait for "normal" to begin either!

SO jealous of those of you getting more sleep! Cecilia never sleeps at night for longer than 2-3 hours, and since we've had no luck yet with nursing lying down, I'm up on the couch 2 or 3 times a night. :(
Cecilia's such a sweet, amazing baby though. She's 3 weeks old today!

Poor Aimee, Olivia didn't get the side lying until about 4 weeks and I still needed a flash light to get her latched on for several months. With Nayeli its been really nice we've been doing side lying since the first night.
Melissa & Kristine sorry your littles are not sleeping well.
Nayeli is doing really well. I'm not even sure if she woke up last night. She may have and maybe I just don't remember it. I also can't wait to get back to normal. I think when DH goes back to work tomorrow it will help. I'm really scared about having both girls by myself but he really doesn't do well with Olivia's toddler behavior and I think once he goes back to work we will have a lot less temper tantrums.

I am catching up on laundry today after being gone at my parents for the weekend. Doing a load of cloth diapers next. :) Kalliann has been really fussy the past 2 days, not easy to deal with. She's usually a pretty mellow baby. We both got some pretty good sleep last night, she's going about 5 hour stretches now.

Athena is one week old today! :)
She's an excellent sleeper. She gives me one or two good spurts during the day of about an hour or two and then overnights are about 3-4 hours. We co-sleep (all three of us girls) and she nurses lying down on my left side (I can't lie on my right side right now, tummy still sore there). I'm really thankful. She wakes to eat and poo (usually these two things coincide though, lol) and she's right back to sleep. Thank you Lord for another easy baby! So far....
I did start supplementing last night. But my flow on the left side is much slower and I don't know about the let downs, she gets very impatient on that side so I decided to hook up the SNS and see if that would keep her on that breast long enough to drain it. It worked! She took about a fourth to half an ounce in supplement which is fine and much less than Gianna took at this age and she's able to empty that breast. She peacefully sleeping beside me on her little couch pallet I made for her.
My recovery is going okay. My intestines are really sore still so my tummy is pretty sensitive. When my bladder fills it's worse. I'm still on Percocet but I take it maybe twice a day as opposed to every 4 hours. I'm also on 800mg Motrin which helps with the swelling. My tummy is swollen and it sucks. But this is all normal says the midwife at the practice that handled my care in the hospital. It gets better each day, it's just a sore healing feeling really. I can't wait until I'm back to my old self so I can care for Gianna more. She's really attached herself to Anton big time although she needs to sleep with me at night. We have a king sized bed so thankfully the three of us can fit comfortably in there.

Wow 5 hour stretches! Go Kalliann! Do you know what's causing the fussies?
Wait, haven't heard from Caz in a day or two....who is her belly buddy? I keep checking back on her and Jenna to see if we've got the rest of our April babies???? :woot:
Amy does Nayeli not nurse overnight? You threw me when you said you didn't know if she woke up! Is she in her own room....I can't imagine Athena not eating at night....then again I gave birth to a football player so....
Aimee, I'm sorry CeCe hasn't gotten the hang of side-lying nursing. Keep working with her, she'll get it and it makes your ability to sleep 1000 times better since you literally can roll over and boob her. :) That's what I do and I don't even need a nap during the day now.
How's the supplementing going? Is she tolerating the donated milk still? How are you handling the SNS? I'm so proud of you for trying!! :)

No she nurses overnight but she is such a good nurser I may have woken up and latched her back on and I might not remember it because I was still half asleep. I used to do it with Olivia all the time. But then again maybe she didn't wake up.. That would mean she slept for 7 hours but I think she probably woke up.

Jenna, I'm so glad Athena is doing well!!!
Aimee, I'm sorry Cece isn't nursing lying down yet. I'm with you there. Liam's still not nursing much at all and I'm still up pumping twice at night too, so I'm not getting much sleep either.
Amy, I hope Olivia's tantrums fade out.
Dawn, that's a good stash! I should take a picture of mine, it's ridiculous.
AFM, I had to take DS1 to the doc this morning so we could get his eyes checked out. Pink eye!!! And of course DD2 came home with watery eyes too. They're both on antibiotic drops now, plus a few drops of breastmilk. If they don't crust up tonight they can go to school tomorrow. Fingers crossed! I'm hoping none of the other kids get it. It's going around the school right now.
In other news, DH got a new job and we'll be moving to Ft.Worth mid-June. *sigh* I know *I* want to move with a three month old.

The SNS works fine. I can still only use it with football hold, but I'm fine with that. I rarely use tape anymore, just line the tube up with my nipple and latch her on.
She's doing well on donated milk. She's way less gassy, so I'm 99% sure it was the fenugreek which I stopped 4 days ago. Sucks, cause I was seeing an increase. :( If we can afford it, I'll try domperidone, but I don't think we can yet. I'm worried about running out of donated milk and not being able to get more, since she's up to about 8-12 ounces of supplement a day (24 hours). I will hate having to supp her with formula, but I'm preparing myself for the eventuality.

Aimee, I can't nurse laying on my side either. It just doesn't seem to work out so yeah nighttime nursing kind of sucks for me too :(
BTW, Dawn - Forgot to say, nice milk stash!! That helps so much if you want to go out or even get some extra sleep!
AFM: OMG This morning we all overslept of course but when my husband went to get Rosemary, she had some how taken off her diaper (her pj pants were still on but diaper was on the floor??) and THEN had pooped so it was a HUGE mess! So DH just grabbed her and hopped in the shower with her since she has refused baths lately with kicking and screaming.
My freaking perinem ITCHES SO BAD!! Anyone else having issues with their tears healing?? My mw is coming over tomorrow and checking on my stitches to make sure everything is healing right. Hopefully I will get the OK to start easing back into normal activities. I am getting cabin fever!
However as a nice surprise, my husband arranged for my friend who is a photographer to come over and take pics of the girls. Preview pics are up on flicker. Check them out!

My episiotomy never once hurt, it just ITCHED like a mofo! Using witch hazel pads (generic Tucks) really, really helped. Now three weeks out it's basically 100% fine as far as I can tell but I'm still waiting on DTD until I get the all clear at 6 weeks.

5 hour stretches!! SOOOO jealous! He has done 1 5 hour stretch thus far. He actually did go almost 5 hours last night. But he started it at 7:30 and I stayed awake until 10:30 thinking he was going to get up and eat any minute. Then he didnt. So I went to lay down at 10:30 and he ended up getting up near 1am. The little stinker. Just when you think you have them figured out!
Oh and Jake has be SUPER fussy for the past 3ish days too. He has been fighting naps like a trooper. He gets so over tired and then all he wants to do is be held and fuss. He was awake today from around 11 until about 30 minutes ago. I would get him to sleep and then either he would wake back up when I put him down, or he would wake up because it was time to eat. I REALLY feel like doing this :banghead:today.

AFM: Today has been like this...:banghead:
Little man is fighting naps and I just dont have the patience apparently. He struggled for like 4 hours until he finally fell asleep in the moby. I really want to put him down and get some laundry folded but I am terrified he will wake up. And now as I type this he is beginning to fuss. Here we go again.

I just took a walk with her in the sling down to the bus stop to get Kirstan, thought it might help.....no such luck. :( I have laundry to do, also, as well as dishes and getting dinner prepared. That is a lot of milk! I'm not pumping much--usually once a day depending on what my boob issues are because I tend to overproduce and I don't want to stimulate a bigger issue and be committed to the pump. Little Eliza usually doesn't take more than one side at a sitting and so if she goes 3-4 hours sometimes it will be 8 hours before I get back to one side and I so I'll pump off a little if I'm engorged. I think once things get to normal I'll try to pump once or twice each day.
Question: Eliza's cord fell off days ago. It was fine but now is starting to bleed a tiny amount. Has this happened to anybody else. I'm not concerned because it isn't discharging or red and it isn't enough to even qualify as a bleed, just annoying. And I want to know what I could do to help speed along the healing.
Question #2: Do you rinse off the newborn BM poo or do you throw it all in the bag and rinse it in the machine?
Question #3: Okay, no more questions right now. Love you guys.
Wait, Question #4: Did we convert some womb midgets to crib midgets today?

Cecilia's belly button did that for about a week after her stump fell off. Her doctor said it was totally normal. I just used a Q-tip and water to clean it out.

Hi ya'll remember me? LOL! I know I've been MIA. It appears that most of ya'll are doing much better at adjusting than I am.
I'm loving all the posts with "______ is X weeks old today"! It is so funny to see that. Can you believe that Joshua is 3 MONTHS old today??? I can't. It is really weird to me. I mean, it seems like forever since I had him, but he has only been "mine" for a few weeks. Does that make any sense?
The BM stash pics are killing me. My freezer stash is dwindling-FAST and my dairy farm has shut down:( I'm so sad about it. I hate giving him formula-especially him-but the constant pumping was stressing me so much. It got even more stressful as I watched my supply dwindle. I was getting <1oz at each session. I can get him to latch on, but he falls asleep almost instantly. If I pull him off, he pops wide awake and sucks a bottle down like a champ.
Oh, and I think my PPD is back full force...
All the new babies are so beautiful. We need one of our creative peeps to put together a collage of all of them for us.
How many are we still waiting on?

Aimee- we can't do side lying yet either. She's got spit up issues hardcore (dare I say reflux? shudder) and I have to keep her upright for a bit after she eats.
Amy-So glad she's a good nursling! Liliana would sleep through the night just fine if I let her :thud: This kid loves to sleep..loves lol. Last night I think was the first night she actually woke herself up to eat and was back out in 10 mins or less. Thank you Lord for an easy baby.

Dawn- awesome stash! I'm so glad nursing is going well for you. Super cute pics!
Nicole- Happy bday to your DH!
Aurelie- I'll yea that to Julie although we dont have the cord issue. Hers just came off on monday woot!
Shannon- Hugs mama! Wow 3 mos!
Robyn- SS about the move! We're moving next month too :hugs: LMAO at the sign!

I think my placenta pills are really helping with the blues. Considering I'm a single mom of 2 with a house on the market..I should be a wreck! DH is working out of state until the new project in state starts. Could be up to six months so we're moving down there next month. Gah..really really need this house to sell. I'll miss it though sigh. I'm consumed all day with the girls and keeping the place show ready. We had a realtor show up unannounced yesterday while they were both sleeping :banghead:
Lili is ahmayzing. Such an easy baby! I have to wake her to feed her but the last couple of days she's been awake for one hour spurts just looking around...so cute. Nursing is going great although I'm having a bit of oversupply issues as she can't really empty a side before falling asleep. I was engorged for like 4 days..so painful and nothing helped...nothing. So I pumped it all off and am doing a block feeding/pumping regime to get it back to center. I feel really good today so I may not have to pump anymore. It's nice having some in the freezer though so maybe just once a day here and there.
I guess I'm fearless lol. I've been out with the two of them alone almost everyday since Friday. I *hate* being in the house for so long and DD is super restless and I just have no choice since DH is gone. Easy peasy thanks to babywearing. Playgroup at the park at 3 today!

Heather - My placenta capsules have greatly helped fight off my PP blues as well! I too seem to have way too much milk from the capsules I'm sure. Did you try cabbage? (Putting cabbage leaves over your breast. It helps engorgement because it'll reduce some of the milk supply. Also the cold leaves feel good!) I also have to wake up Hazel to eat sometimes.
Has anyone put their baby down yet? (LOL!) We finally put Hazel in her swing a few times during the day so we could get some things done. Plus, Rosemary needs cuddling time/book time with me during the day and I want her to feel like it's not always about the new baby. My husband wants to cuddle Hazel all the time. He actually sleeps with her on his chest or in the crook of his arm and then hands her to me when she needs to eat.
This baby loves to be swaddled too. Rosemary hated it. I can already see major differences in the two!
