Kimberly, thanks for agreeing to do this! Everyone jump in and ask any questions you would like as you get to know Kimberly! These are the questions we'll be using to kick off the week:

What is your favorite kind of soup?

Have you ever spent time as a vegetarian/vegan?

What is your #1 hot topic and why?

Tell us about your backyard - big, small, muddy, dry, sand, grass, swing set?

What kind of car do you drive and do you love it or hate it?

Do you like carpet on your floors or would you prefer wood/tile/other?

What are you most nervous about with this pregnancy...the pregnancy itself, the fact that there is a new baby to adjust to, nursing, diapering, etc?

What size is your TV in your main room?

What is your favorite TV show or movie of all time?

If you had to choose one childhood toy you adored, what would it be?

What's your favorite holiday and why?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

What is your favorite kind of soup? I'm not a big soup eater, but I do love taco soup (mmm, in the crock pot so the house smells amazing all day :drif:)

Have you ever spent time as a vegetarian/vegan? Yes, when I was in middle school, but my mom wasn't happy about accommodating me, so it didn't last long. I don't eat much meat though as it is and would be quite happy as a vegetarian (I'd actually like to venture that way as I learn more protein-rich recipes and could make it an easier switch). DH is totally supportive of the idea too (for me, not so much for him), so that's a big deal.

What is your #1 hot topic and why? There are a few, but I'm going with breastfeeding. It frustrates me to no end that there isn't more information and support of breastfeeding for women who really want to make it work for them. I was literally bullied in the hospital into giving DS formula by the nurses and lousy-excuse-for-a-lactation consultant with threats of 'involving the pediatrician' and basically making me feel like I was hurting my baby by not supplementing (how messed up is that?! he was only a day old!)--and I had done my research! I knew he was fine, but in my post-op state I didn't know how to defend myself. So many women give up shortly after birth because they're not prepared for it to be difficult and they don't have the support they need. It'll be awhile yet, but I'm looking into becoming a lactation consultant.

Tell us about your backyard - big, small, muddy, dry, sand, grass, swing set? Sadly non-existant :( We're in a gorgeous apartment, but one of the drawbacks is that we don't have our own yard. There is a little play structure on the complex property, not far from us that has a great grassy area, but none of our own.

What kind of car do you drive and do you love it or hate it? Well, before my husband's car up and died a little over a year ago I drove a Mazda3, but now he uses it, because he's the one going to work everyday :giggle: Loved it when I was single and first married, hate it as our family car. Hoping to get a Subaru Forester this summer sometime (before baby comes, if we can swing it).

Do you like carpet on your floors or would you prefer wood/tile/other? I would love to have hardwood living space/kitchen, tile bathrooms, and carpeted bedrooms! As it is, we're renting so we just deal with the carpet throughout except for linoleum in the kitchen, baths, and laundry room.

What are you most nervous about with this pregnancy...the pregnancy itself, the fact that there is a new baby to adjust to, nursing, diapering, etc? There's a small part of me that is really afraid of last minute complications popping up (even though so far things have been excellent!) and preventing me from getting my vbac. Aside from that, I'm SO intimidated by the thought of having 2 kids... I'll be outnumbered!

What size is your TV in your main room? IDK...small to normalish? Somewhere between 20 and 30", I would guess.

What is your favorite TV show or movie of all time? WAY too many to choose from. The Wizard of Oz is one of my all time favorites, my mom and I got to go see it in the theater when they did a special presentation of it last year and that was incredible!

If you had to choose one childhood toy you adored, what would it be? That is a good question.... I still have several of my stuffed animals from when I was little and a whole suitcase full of Barbies! :giggle2:

What's your favorite holiday and why? I love everything about the Christmas season-- the lights, the smells, the coziness, the chance to be around family, and of course everything that Christmas really means along the lines of celebrating the birth of Jesus. I'm excited that this year we'll be in our own place and get to have a tree and put lights up, plus DS is old enough to understand more, so it will be a really special time.

I'd like to know where her username came from.

It's funny, I've been using Sparklebug for years (or MamaSparklebug in some cases, lol), but there's really no reason. It just sort of popped into my head while I was trying to come up with a username or email or something and I thought it sounded cute.

How many kids do you want?

How did you get into CD'ing?

How many kids do you want? That's a good question! :giggle: Before I had any, we wanted a bunch (like 4-6 or so) and then after DS I was sure that I only wanted one... now I'm happy we're having our second. I want to lose some weight and be in much better shape before we consider having another and would love to experience pregnancy when I'm feeling healthier, so we'll see what happens in the future. At this point, I just want a few years off from being pregnant, so we'll have to be faithful NFPers!!

How did you get into CD'ing? I looked into it while I was pg with DS, but was super overwhelmed by the choices. I was interested in the money saving and environmental aspects mostly. It took awhile to spend the time researching (I had pretty severe ppd after he was born and couldn't focus) but we switched to cloth when he was about 10 months and haven't looked back :)

I totally agree with you on this! I was lucky enough to have a wonderful lactation consultant at both of my births but I don't think first-time moms realize how HARD it can be. One of the consultants actually just grabbed my boob and shoved it into DD's mouth and said "That's how you do it!" and it worked! I was so shy and nervous...she helped me just jump in and do it--she's so great!

All these commercials and images of the easy breastfeeding mom with her super cooperative newborn. The sky is blue and birds are singing. They NEVER show the chapped nipples, the screaming baby and the overtired mom ready to give up!

Thanks for sharing:thumbsup:

I had a suitcase full of barbies too and some of my old baby dolls. The only reason I don't have them now is because I gave them to my mw's kids after they pretty much left everything in Las Vegas to move here.

What was your wedding like?

What's your favorite part of being a mom?

Sorry I disappeared part way through the week  Got kinda hectic! Anyway...

What was your wedding like? Fairly simple, but huge. :giggle: We had a traditional Catholic ceremony, all of our siblings were in the wedding party plus a few good friends. It was an evening wedding, lots of candles and low light and it was February and we did a black/white/red snowflake-wintery kind of theme. Very simple decorations. It was mostly important to us to have all the people we love there to celebrate with us.

Oh, and our amazing priest actually rapped during the ceremony, so that was fun and unique ;)

What's your favorite part of being a mom? Oh my goodness, where to even start! This is literally all I've ever wanted in life, to be a wife and a mama, so being home with my baby is the most amazing gift. I'm so thankful to my husband for being supportive and wanting me to stay at home. I love snuggling with my little guy and am constantly amazed by how quickly he learns and how smart he's getting  I'm a little nervous, but really excited about having 2 littles soon and getting to start over at the beginning again.
