So, I had a baby in 2008 bought a crib earlier that year... Used it for a couple years and stored it in the attic for the next baby... Next baby arrives in Nov 2012... Decided to bedshare, working great but I decided that we'd side car the crib this week and see how it works... WRONG! CRIB WAS RECALLED IN 2009! WTF! I FILLED OUT REGISTRATION INFO! UGH. So it gets better... I threw away the receipt right before having this baby in Nov... Anyone return a recalled crib recently? I am just wondering how much opposition I will be met with from the retailer. I realize that they are stepping up since the mfg is bankrupt, but I paid almost $400 for this thing! I plan on calling the retailers listed on the cspc website and asking them what the refund is, b/c if it's not worth loading and unloading the crib with a 6mo & 4 yo in tow I'll just use it as bonfire wood instead...

My questions are:
Has anyone returned a recalled crib years after the recall? If so, what was the process and results?
Any questions you think I should ask?
Anything particular I should tell the people I talk to?

TIA MAMAS!

Since I am dairy and soy free for my nursling, I asked for an allergy menu and the manager went through and gave me a few options.

I ordered a napa chicken salad sandwich and chicken noodle soup and it was amazing! I went back up and asked if I could buy a soup bowl of it to take home to make my own sandwich and he sold me one of the bags of sauce that they order at cost. 4 bucks and I have enough sauce for about 12 sandwiches. Amazing. I emailed them about how happy I was to have such a great experience

I have always loved food and I miss the good stuff. This really brightened my day. Not to mention living in the Pacific Northwest leaves much to be desired in the customer service side of business.

I've got a few questions for you, but here's my background first:

I'm due in 9 weeks with my DD and I decided to try cloth diapering because my first DD (she's 3) had terrible rashes with disposables and also because my husband and I are on a tight budget and it will be so much cheaper to cloth diaper. That being said, I've bought various different kinds of diapers since March and figured I'd try them all/see what I like. At that time, my 3 year old was still in diapers at night time so I got some practice with her- using BG pockets and Thirsties covers over folded flour sack towels. The BG's that I purchased were used, and the Thirsties/FST were purchased new. My daughter did get a small rash from using the BG's but cleared up using the FST. I'm wondering if she reacted to the fleece. Anyway, so I would wash every 3 days (only 3 diapers) and I have an HE front loader. After a few washes they smell- not like pee to me but like the BG detergent that I used. Maybe I used too much? So since that time I have rinsed them on hot at least 5 times or more and they still seem to smell to me. I've even used a bit of baking soda and vinegar trying to get the smell out and it didn't really put much of a dent in it. Due to this, I'm becoming pretty intimidated with using pockets.:banghead: I don't have time to figure out how to get them clean or strip every few months or whatever the case may be. So below are my questions:

1. What can I do to figure out the smell issue with the BG pockets?

2. If I can't figure it out, would someone buy them for like, $3 ea plus shipping and try to figure it out themselves? Obviously I would disclose everything to them and they're still in GUC I would say, two in EUC, I apparently just suck at washing pockets.

3. I planned on starting with just FST and prefolds with covers because they're cheap, 100% cotton, and easy to clean, but my friend who CDs swears that it's so much easier for her hubby and even herself to use the pockets. Do your husbands use prefolds/flats, what do they prefer, and which is easier? I don't mind folding flats/prefolds, I like learning all the folds and how you can customize them to different sized babies.

4. Would it be a good idea to sell the various pockets I bought (I have Fuzzibunz size small as well and a nb no name AIO) to fund some Swaddlebees Capri covers or flips? I figured those should be pretty simple for DH to use!

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated! I really want this to work for us but:
I can't afford to spend a fortune.
I need an easy wash routine.
I want one system so my DH/parents/inlaws don't get confused.

Thank you!!!

NWT XS Sloomb shorties, color is beetle
OS Fleece lollidoo, white with black inner EUC
Large fleece drybees, charcoal, EUC pilling around laundry tabs
2 OS Sweet pea pockets (one not pictured, yellow) with inserts. Some staining on inserts, diapers themselves in GUC/VGUC
2 OS Green Bees (one not pictured, blue) VGUC
OS Alva (blue and yellow swirly print) GUC, inner is pilly suedecloth, but it is the only issue
OS sunbaby (plaid), GUC. Slightly dingy looking inside, tiny black mark on outside front of diaper
OS diaper cover (owls) loved. It doesn't have any function issues, just a bit faded looking, and has a bleached spot near buttons on front. It mostly gets covered by the buttons, and I *just cut it off in the picture. :/ You can see it a little...
I am also throwing in a couple samples. :) All for $130!!!

Only separation I would like to make at this point is for the sloomb shorties. $54 for them separately, remaining diapers for $80
