treating pink eye with breastmilk

My 12 month old has the beginnings of pink eye. I talked to his doctor and he has heard about it, but never had anyone try it. How do you do it? Do you just squirt it in his eyes?

I just squirted it during feeding...once I felt a let down- so I knew there was more chance of getting it in there. DD had pink eye last year (when she was 3) and I put it in a clean medicine syringe and put it in like eye drops. She is still nursing, and I suppose I could have just squirted her...but I was worried I might scar her for life, lol, since she is old enough to remember now. Haha.

P.S. it totally works like magic. :)

Yep, squirt it in during letdown. I remember when Dd2 had a nasty nose and I was trying to squirt some into it and she kept trying to maneuver her mouth to the breast. I can only imagine what she was thinking, lol.

Yup, right in the eye. I do it all the time. It's also great for clogged tear ducts. It works like magic! My grandmother remembers them doing it in Portugal when she had LOs.
