Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of October 1st

This thread is for women that have children who are trying to have more and struggling with infertility (IF). You fall into the IF category if you have been trying for more than a year or if you have known fertility issues. Some have secondary IF and some have primary IF. Some of us are TTC naturally and some need treatments of some type. All are welcome!

We also have women who are praying to make it. Due to prior losses or IF they don't feel like they should join a due date board till after the first 12 weeks. We are truly happy to support you as you transition. Please just keep in mind that we are a group of woman struggling with IF and be sensitive to that as you post. If you put a pregnancy ticker or smiley in your signature, please turn off your signature when you post in this thread. Thank you!

Please note: When your information needs to be updated, please highlight the area that needs to be updated. This will make it easier for me to update you. :goodvibes:

If you'd like to be added please post your info using the format below. Please note: I remove names if you are inactive for one month. This really helps keep the list more manageable, if you would like to be added back, just repost your info. :D

Re: Blessed with children, Struggling for more Week of October 1st

Good Morning all. Hope everyone is doing well. 8DPO here. Haven't been feeling good since yesterday morning, hoping I'm not coming down with something. Just felt achey and overall not good yesterday. Counting down until next week when I should be able to do my testing with the RE. Just really hoping that CD 3 does not fall on Tuesday. I have to be out of town for work so if it falls right there, then I'm out of luck for a whole nother cycle.

I tell myself every month to just test and get it done with, but I know it doesn't help. I actually have to start testing around 9dpo if there's any chance so they can get me on the progesterone ASAP.

Excited to hear the all clear tomorrow. :goodvibes:

AFM, I'm CD 9 today which is usually the first day I test so I can get on meds asap if there's a line. I somehow ran out of tests. How on earth did I overlook that? I've never in all these years run out! So, since DH is working late tonight I decided DS and I will have "date" night. Just Mommy and boy. He loves those, we go to ChickFilA, he plays, I get a few min. of quiet while he runs energy off. I"m excited. That way I'll be in town and can run and grab a test. I live out in the stick so it seems so silly to run all the way to town just to grab a test so this seemed like a good way to do it. I know it's probably - and I'm used to that but I still do it because that's what the dr told me to do.

Afm, the bug is in the uterus, but the gestational sac is empty. They measured it at 4+6, so maybe too early? I go back Tuesday for a repeat u/s and beta. My stomach is in knots...

I would say there is definitely a chance it's too early and you'll see a nice strong HB next time. Thinking lots of ++ thoughts for you! :hugs::hugs:

Totally normal for an empty sac at that point. At my 4w+5d scan all we saw was an empty sac as well. Today at 5+6 there is a yolk sac and a 3mm embryo. Still too early for a detectable hb-that is not seen until embryo measures 5mm. (so yes I get to wait some more and go to my own OB next Friday the 12th-she has a better u/s machine anyway, the RE's kinda sucks in comparison :P back to RE October 16th for hopefully final scan and release to OB)

Carissa- that seems really good. The beta on mine at 14dpo was 6 on the one I just lost. Which is why the RE told me the day we found out that I was most likely going to loose it. He told me it should have been in the 1-200 range. So 150 is right there. Seems good to me!

I think that's a very strong beta at 14dpo...My first beta with this one at 14 days past transfer (IVF) was 153....

I'm very happy for you! :giggle2:

Terrified about Tuesdays u/s. I'm so scared the sac is still going to be empty or that it hasn't grown. I find myself separating myself from this pg to prepare for the worst on tuesday- I'm not looking at baby things, not thinking of being a mama to two, and I'm not even freaking out about space anymore. And last week even Zofran couldn't stop the morning sickness, and I haven't been sick at ALL with out zofran for the last four days. I'm a hot mess here.

Can I join? I have no been trying for a year but I just had my 3rd miscarriage. We lost 2 in between my girls ages 5 & 15 months. We're starting the process of testing to figure out why this keeps happening.

I'll come back tomorrow and catch up on everyone. I'm so tired but I wanted to give you ladies a quick update. It looks like we are back to the waiting game again. Tonight DH had to have another steroid infusion (you know the sperm killing kind). They discovered a new lesion in his brain last week. They are trying to get it stopped and that means steroids again. He had his port installed tonight and he's already feeling better. I'm glad for him but so frustrated that this means another few months of waiting for everything to get back to "stable" again. I think we're still going to go ahead with the testing this month. AF is due tonight or tomorrow AM. So we'll see how everything works out.

Sure you can join- Please just put your info in a post and I can add you to the list. I am so sorry for your losses. I hope you have a short stay with us here, and that you get plenty of support from us while you are on your journey.

Mel- Morning sickness sounds good. I sure hope that your little one is settling in and stays put for 9 happy months.

Laurel- I am so sorry. Your poor husband. How are you both managing with everything? I'm glad to hear he feels better- I sure wish the medication didn't mess with your fertility. You are in my thoughts.

AFM: We are moving ahead this month. I am scheduled to have the FET November 2nd. Any tips or suggestions for me? Think I should do acupuncture the day of?

Found this at babymed.com for you:

HCG Level DOUBLING TIME EXPECTED
Under 1,200 mIU/ml Between 30 and 72 Hours
1200-6000 mIU/ml Between 72 and 96 Hours
Over 6,000 mIU/ml Over 96 Hours
hCG levels rise during the first 6 to 10 weeks of pregnancy then decline slowly during the second and third trimesters.

As your pregnancy develops, the increase slows down significantly. Between 1,200 and 6,000 mIU/ml serum, the hCG usually takes about 72-96 hours to double, and above 6,000 mIU/ml, the hCG often takes over four or more days to double. It makes little sense to follow the hCG values above 6,000 mIU/ml as at this point the increase is normally slower and not related to how well the pregnancy is doing.

After two to three months the increase will slow even further and eventually hCG levels even decline before reaching a plateau for the duration of the pregnancy. Doctors will often use the quantitative blood test if they are closely monitoring the development of a pregnancy but above a level of about 6,000 mIU/ml that makes no sense because at this point a sonogram provides better information about the pregnancy.

One single hCG value does not tell you much about the viability of the pregnancy and there is a wide range of normal hCG levels in pregnancy. A normal hCG rise over several days prior to 6 weeks of the pregnancy usually indicates a viable pregnancy. In general, the best indication of a healthy pregnancy other than a normal rise of hCG is a good fetal heartbeat after 6-7 weeks.

It seems once your numbers get large, they slow down. I don't know if 730 is considered a big number, but I also know it said somewhere around 6 weeks it slows down. Your VERY close to my date, and I'm 5+4 today, so maybe it's slowing? Notice, it also said first betas can be skewed high if you get an early beta, so that could be it, too...
