What did you/ do you eat to help nasea in the first trimester?

Esp. that all day waiting at the bottom of your throat kind?
I really didn't find anything that helped last time very much except for munching on crackers almost continously ... which I have some problems related to carbs so any help??????

Oh, ugh, that is no fun!:yuck: I didn't find anything that helped a whole lot. Some things that made it not quite so bad were: eating little bites of protien often throughout the day (like little pieces of cheese), trying to eat something before I started to feel hungry (not real easy when you feel like vomitting at the thought of anything in your mouth...) mint or ginger tea is supposed to help - I couldn't get past the smell to swallow it though, and sucking on hard candy helped a little too.
I kept hoping for a "magic cure" for morning sickness and finally gave up.
www.birthwithsol.com had a list of morning sickness helps I think.

Hope it's better for you this time!

yuck - honestly, nothing really helped me - sour candy did a little bit, and I lived on popsicles for about the first 15 weeks!

Milk. :yuck: I know, but I craved milk my whole pregnancy and a small glass would settle my stomach for some reason.

Ginger tea or ginger snaps or ginger ail. All that stuff helped me! Rachel

I eat whatever sounds good. I listen to my body. I REALLY think that your body KNOWS what it needs and you crave what you need.

That being said. When I am in the early days...I can NOT make a meal out of anything that turns to mush (like most carbohydrates). It turns into mush into my stomach and comes right back up. I cant eat cereal while preggo. :dunno: why.

What helps my M.S in the early days is to eat a protein filled meal first thing. Make a piece of peanut butter bread the second you get out of bed. Then keep eating protein throughout the day. Never let your stomach get to empty (or to full)

No matter what you do...you arent going to get rid of M.S. 100%. Those are the things that helped me. I hope you start feeling better soon.

I guess there is a sour theme...I loved lemonade, lemony water, lemonade tea... I had pretty bad sickness for half of both my pregnancies, still managed to gain 45lbs with each though, LOL, that another thread though:blush: .

HTH.

Nothing really. The one thing I did find helpful was Burt's Bees peeprmint soap. It helped in the shower, where the steam made me more nauseaous, and right after when the temp changes at first had seemed to make it worse.

I lived off of bananas and banana nut muffins the first few weeks. Also had a lot of ritz bits pb crackers and ham sandwhiches.

I have to disagree with eating what you crave though  I have been craving eggs BAD since day one but I'm allergic...or have an intolerance or whatever....either way, its really really bad if I eat them lol :yummy:
