**** and Jane books for early readers

Does anyone use these as early readers with their little ones? Do you like them? Up until recently I was only using bob books but my mom suggested we try **** and Jane as she liked them as a child. I find there is more sight word memorization required versus Bob books which is more decoding. Ds seems to really like them though. He's good at decoding so if he doesn't know the sight word he figures it out usually by sounding it out. Anyway, just curious what everyone thinks of these.

Yes, my daughter really liked those in the beginning. That was the first easy readers she would read on her own to herself.

My now 7 and 6 year old both loved them. Our local library has a bunch, so they went through those and they really seemed to help their fluency.

This is what I'm find as well. Since ds had decoding down I thought I'd try them. All of a sudden he reads so much more fluently.

We are using the faith and freedom series from Seton. (catholic homeschoolers) they are very much like the D&J series. Which we also have.
