I'm going to make my own. I've heard that really help sooth the pain and speed up healing :)

Re: Hospital bag

These are the things I used at the hospital:

Socks for me
Nursing bra
Clothes to go home in for me and the baby
Camera
Contact stuff and my toothbrush

That's it. I wore the hospital gown the whole time I was there. I also used the baby clothes, blankets & diapers provided by the hospital. Next time I will probably bring diapers for baby. I brought a bunch of stuff but never used it :giggle:.

Also, the mesh underpants the hospital gives you after delivery are awesome. I loved them for keeping the GIANT pads & ice packs in place after delivery. Plus, I didn't care if they got ruined. I stuffed extra pairs in my bag and brought them home and wore them for the first few days at least.

That's exactly I used for my first two hosp stays, plus cream, deodorant, slippers
and my own shampoo. I took too much the first time (googled "hospital bag" and took everything or almost that was son the list!).
I'm due in a week and packed exactly the same list and added two crossover onesies for the LO, and one bottle of Perrier sparkling water (yes, I'm French LOL)
The nice cloth diapers will be used once at home.

You can buy witch hazel wet pads at your pharmacy (maybe u need a prescription, I don't remember) and you lay them on your pad. They're awesome! Relieves pain and accelerates healing. There's also a healing spray that I don't remember the name... I'll look for it.

Some things in my doula bag that can be helpful: peppermint essential oil (helps ease nausea), rice sock for warm compress on the back, massage roller ball, chapstick, gum, suckers, honey sticks.

Re: Hospital bag

-Going home clothes for me
-Minimal toiletries and makeup
-Camera and charger
-Phone and charger
-Snacks and juice for while in labor
-Change of clothes and swim suit for DH
-Going home clothes for baby
-4 diapers for baby
-Car seat, of course
-1 baby blanket incase it's cool out
-Either my oldest crappiest underwear or some depends... leaning towards depends this time since that's baically what they gave us to use at the birth center and it was great.

That's it! The first and second time I packed a whole lot of stuff that was totally unnecessary.
