I checked my cervix.......

bc I was curious and its really high and REALLY soft :headscratch: Is it supposed to be that way (I know its supposed to be high, but soft?)?

Also, I'm positive I lost my plug a few days ago

I wouldnt be concerned really unless you are dialated (you can tell!).. I checked mine while preggo and thats how i realized something was up.. I was about 2 cm at 29-30 weeks, but too embarrassed to say anything to my Dr.. at 33 weeks I realized I was probably about 3.5 cm and I was also having backpain/mild contactions.. sure enough I went in and was sent straight to the hospital where i stayed until DD was born at 34w1d.

If I remember correctly, I think its normal for it to be high and soft during pregnancy.. but Im not positiove.. 10 months seems like so longa ago, and my memory isnt the best.. but really, unless your cervix is dialating I think it sounds quite normal.

thanks :goodvibes: thats good to know. it feels closed as well so I'm pretty sure I'm not dialated.

Now, about my plug~does that mean anything that its dislodged?

The loss of the plug may mean that labor is close, but doesnt mean it imminent. If it is blood tinged or pinkish, probably calling your doc would be a good thing ESPECIALLY because you are not due for a while.
Also, keep the self checks to a minimum and use gloves. Without your mucous plug you are at a higher risk of infection. Please see the doc, because losing the plug this early is not a good thing.

From what I remember- the softer the cervix- the closer to the birth of baby. I remember being overdue and my DOC saying my cervix was still high and firm (or not very soft or something like that).

I also lost my plug and have self checked my cervix as well as having the doctor check. I have dilalated about 2cm but although I am having lots of presure and bh nothing regular is happening yet. My cervix is also high and tipped towards my back but very soft and squishy. I don't think this baby will be very much longer. I am 36 weeks now.
