can you believe this

Someone called dyfs on me and my husband. It seems they were appalled that we didn't have a diaper on our 7 mo old daughter. And we had her naked in the June weather...guess that's against the law?
I told the case worker that we don't believe in putting plastic diapers that contain dioxins on our child and my husband chimed in that people who give thier children diaper rash should have dyfs called on them (and this is not a judgement about cloth vs. disposables or ec vs. diapers, just came out while the worker was here)
It was dismissed, but....
anything like this happen to anyone else?

Wow mama :hugs: I hate how some people can really pass judgement on others without knowing anything about that person in the first place. And to report you for that!?!? Ridiculous!!! Sorry I don't have a similar experience to share!

I'm speechless. That's sad that our culture has become so judgemental!

My DD is naked ALL the time in the summer!!!

I kept looking at the lady and telling her that I didn't see anything wrong with a naked baby in June...

Oh wow! I swear if you don't do exactly what everyone else does, childrens aid will be called. Thankfully most workers know its a waste of their time.

OMG.

My neighbor told me several years back that someone wanted to call them on me too because my child was outside naked. I do not usually allow him naked outside, but sometimes you have a child that just runs outside and rather than make a big deal of it you just let it go. It is a baby.

They should focus more on the people who we have to worry about when it comes to naked babies. Not on the parents who care enough to not put chemical ridden diapers on their babies.

I've gotten A LOT of stares when I change my ds's training pants in the mall or wherever and also whenever I take his pants off to put him in his carseat (I leave him nakey bum sittin on a prefold). I get almost as many when I am nursing in public! OMG someone might see a bit of my nipple! What a horrifing thought!! People are so weird sometimes! Sorry you had to go through that!!

I'd betcha dollars to doughnuts that whoever called dcfs has no problem letting all sorts of nudity into their home via tv and other media. Utter lack of common sense is astounding.
