Winter wonders chat 1-13

morning ladies :giggle:

QOTD- Is this your last baby??

mrscompgeek 01-13-2012 08:15 AM

Re: Winter wonders chat 1-13

AOTD- Not sure. When we first got married we both wanted 5 kids. But I have quick fast intense labors and have tore with both girls so i'm not sure now if i can put my body through that another 3 times. I'll see what my dr says about how i'm healing this time at my 6 week checkup. We would be happy with 1 more but we shall see. I also have some fertility issues so who knows, i may not be able to get pregnant again. If thats the case i'm content with 2. I didnt want DD1 to be an only child.

Its snowing here, has been all night. DH said its pretty slick. I'm kind of glad for a snow day finally, such a good day to stay in pj's with my girls.

edit- post partum mamas- am i the only one aching to dtd already?? I'm not even 2 weeks pp but its driving me nuts that i cant.. physically i'm not near ready yet, but emotionally i'm ready. i miss dh in that way.

Re: Winter wonders chat 1-13

AOTD- I am definitely feeling done, and completely happy with the thought of four kiddos - but that could change after I have Dylan, lol. DH is currently refusing to get the big V, and I'm not going to get my tubes tied in fear of the nasty possibly, life long side affects. Not sure on B/C, either, lol! So he better get it done, or either we won't DTD, or we will have another baby!
I'm feeling like you, this is baby #4, pregnancy # 5, and after being cut the first time, and tearing 2 of the other times from front to back, I'm not feeling like I should keep doing that too many more times. I'm fearing it this time around.

Ugh, I have been up since about 2am, with horrible heartburn, and feeling like I can't breath. No fun. :( We were all out of Tums, of COURSE! :giggle: My dad wanted to get together with me to go get DS a haircut, and get some new jeans for DD2, and new shoes for DD1, but I highly doubt I will be up for that today. I feel pretty exhausted.

This is my first and hopefully not my last! I'm thinking 3 or 4 is a good #.. but who knows..

Re: Winter wonders chat 1-13

Hmm I don't know if I am done but if we do have another I want it to be in the next 2 years. DH says he is happy with our family now and it feels complete to him but he is the one that always gets bit by the baby bug first!

I have thought about dtd too and it has only been a week. I will be more than ready I'm sure in a few weeks. I didn't tear or anything so physically I will be ok by then.

Well ths mornings nursing we MUCH better. I think I am still going to get a nipple shield to get them healed up. I just wasn't holding him right again I guess. I still will probably either get my doula to stop by or see the LC here in town. There is only one so I hope she is good!

Luke slept from 1030 until 230 and then 330 until 730. I feel so good! His cord came off too which makes me so sad because it means he is getting bigger already! Going to give him his first bath tonight :) I am going to try him in his BG. He is peeing out of the kissaluvs already!

Howdy! Nothing new here.

Aotd- hoping not our last. Makes me too sad to think. We want at least 6 but prefer 8-10. We'll see what God allows ;)

Off to sams club- gotta walk walk walk ;)

Re: Winter wonders chat 1-13

We are not done. We both want a big family.

Someone asked yesterday if anything could happen if the cervix is high. Yes it can. At my previous appts I was super high, dilated to 3 and 60% effaced. OB said cvx can drop once in active labor and not to worry if you are high still this late in the game.

I feel bad for saying this, but I HOPE I get to call DH home from work today so I can go have a baby. I got decent sleep last night (although I did wake up a million times because I was uncomfortable & needed to pee). I actually feel rested a bit. Aaaah! The tightness & pain in my abdomen is gone. So thankful for that! I should get to cleaning today. I didn't get ANYTHING done yesterday.

Re: Winter wonders chat 1-13

I don't know if I'm done or not. Though dh is so, I don't think any more kids for us. I would love to try again for a girl but, I would probably get pregnant again with another boy. I think three boys is going to be enough for me to handle. LOL I was supposed to have my 39 week apt today but, had to cancel on account of the roads. Rain turned over to snow and getting a lot of snow. I have a 40 week apt for next Friday but, I wonder if I should try to get in earlier, if I don't go till then. Wanted to go pick up some more baby stuff at a consignment shop but, won't be doing that either today. I suppose I will clean house, make beef stew for tonight. Maybe make some cookies or brownies. :)

DoulainAK 01-13-2012 10:12 AM

I'm really worried about DH going to work today. We have a lot of snow and it just keeps coming. It could take 30-45 min for him to get home if he left the min I called. I had show all three times I went pee last night. And I'm crampy and my breasts ache this am. I feel like this could be my day but I've said that before. I also feel nauseas and like I'm gonna cry. So I'm completely hormonal. just talked to DH. I don't think he wants to try to stay home. :-( he's ok with how long it'll take him to get home. I just feel like this is gonna go really fast once it starts. I guess we'll see

Aotd: yes most definitely my last baby :-)

eracheld 01-13-2012 10:14 AM

We haven't really talked about more kids. Honestly, this pregnancy has been really rough on our relationship. Idk if I want to go through it again

Yea- I hate being pregnant :P <3 the kids though

abbi_n_nadia 01-13-2012 10:29 AM

Morning mamas!

AOTD: probably done with bio babies but we want to foster/adopt! I'm so excited for that! Dh was already scheduled to get the v but I chickened out so he canceled it so after baby is here I think he will probably go ahead with it.

Dh is off today...4 day weekend! Dd still has school today but not on Monday. I'm sending dh out for some donuts and coffee!! :lostit:

That was me! Thanks for the reply!!

AOTD: I am so done after this. I have never felt "done" like I do now- I always wanted 4 kids. I would consider adoption down the road if we were in a good place financially, but I don't see that happening any time soon. I think I will be happy enough with my three girls. My attitude gets really bad while I'm pg- I get super evil, and I don't think it's fair to do that to my family for a year at a time anyway :giggle:.

I decided I'm going to try and quit stressing over this last couple of weeks and trust that this baby will be born at some point. This pregnancy has been nothing like my last two, but I keep comparing it to them, and it's driving me nuts. My other two girls had both been born by now, I hardly had any morning sickness with them, no BH or cramping or other symptoms towards the end to drive me nuts, my water just randomly broke- I need to accept that this baby is doing it's own thing and I could be pregnant a while longer! It's really hard though because I have never been this eager for a baby to be born before. I need my body back :yuck:.

Lady_B 01-13-2012 10:50 AM

Well I got some answers finally and they said he won't be fed till I come back up. Husband will be with him the whole time. And I'm really only away a max of an hour, could be less.
Baby still hasn't dropped at all. I just want him to get out and be healthy at this point. Going to finish getting ready so I can take hubs some lunch and go get the big dog food and cat food and litter. Oh and the post it notes are gone, husband didn't like it lol. Hopefully we get some babies today !

Re: Winter wonders chat 1-13

AOTD--not sure. We always said we wanted 2 for sure and wouldn't mind 3 (but after 3 dh agreed to get the snip!). I don't know though. I'm already 36, although had no trouble getting pg both times. . .but as someone else mentioned I've found having babies to be hard on DH and me as a couple. . .and maybe 2 will be enough. DH not willing to get the snip yet though and I don't want to go back to hormonal BC, so who knows what will happen. :giggle: I'm sure I'll get baby fever again in another year or two.

MW appt today. Feeling closer, but still think I'll make it till next week. Just really really hoping not to go many days past my edd. ds and I have been having some nice days together though. . .so it's still kind of a mix of emotions about wanting labor to begin or wanting to stay right where I am and not begin the whole huge shift in our lives that a nb will bring.

Re: Winter wonders chat 1-13

I am feeling this is the last baby, I spoke to dh about getting my tubes tied and he is 100% against it.
I think he may want more down the road, I am not so sure that I want to but he says I always say this when I am close to delivering or right after I have a new baby so I will wait it out for now..lol
I am 1 of 3 siblings, dh has 5 sisters (one is passed) and a brother so he comes from a much larger family..:giggle2:

mrsashleyo 01-13-2012 12:00 PM

Aotd DH and I always said we wanted 3 this is baby number 2 and I think we will have another. I feel content right now and hope I cont for a while. Ds1 was 9 months when dh and I started feeling the itch for more! Haha. For you mamas wanting big families I wish you luck and lots of patients! I'm the oldest of 7, no idea how my mom did it!

Also I'm day 2 PP and already told DH I don't need to wait 6 weeks to dtd! But I think its because I was blessed and have no stiches.

My milk came in at 36 hrs PP cont all night. I had to pump this am just so I could be a bit comfortable. Ds2 gained 1 oz in a day, whoohoo!

Lady b glad you got some answers about your c sec, hope it brings you some peace.

Sending labor vibes to mamas that want them!! Come on babies!

DH said our dachshund wouldn't leave my side this morning when he tried to get him to go outside to go potty, Buddy just kept looking at me, laying against me as I was sleeping(I was lucky enough to doze off for about an hour or so!). I can only hope that maybe he senses something more than I do :giggle: I've never went into labor on my own, and doubt I will this time, but it's still fun to wonder! :p

Re: Winter wonders chat 1-13

our cat is driving me crazy! i can't tell if it's me being pg, or the fact that i changed his feeding schedule, though. he still gets the same amount, but i split it into two feedings. he tends to get fat if we give him too much, so he's on a perma- diet. lol. he's always underfoot though, and he just sits like a foot away from me staring me down. probably thinking "oh god, another one of those tail- pulling things is going to be coming out of you, isn't it?". lmao. poor kitty gets tortured!

AOTD: yes this is our last. Dh is going to get a V. I love all the kids but 4 is good for us, i feel like we are just done. I am sure I will miss newbies but yet I feel like our family will be complete, kwim? It is nice b/c we both feel done with 4, although I want to make sure baby is here and healthy before I let DH get his surgery.

Just cleaning and boring stuff here today. I have been sleeping like crap again, and I have been having BH's a ton over the last 2 days, so freaking uncomfortable, ugh!

Re: Winter wonders chat 1-13

oh and Destiny IDK maybe your dog does know something is up. Our pets have never acted too differently, except once. When we were getting ready to leave for the hospital with our first, one of our cats came in and peed on the carpet right in front of me. I am sure it was about the stress, excitement etc.. but I really thought I would kill her :hide: It takes a lot to make a zoologist say that :giggle2: I completely freaked out and insisted that we clean the carpet before we left, we couldn't bring the baby home to cat pee smell. So I was on my hands and knees steam cleaning the carpet while having contractions :roflmbo: When DH came downstairs to go, he was more than a little confused.

Haven't really noticed anything different as far as closer to the due date.. but I have a momma dog and one of her pups thats about a yr and half old.. They were seperated for about 6 months and the momma decided she didnt like her, would attack her for no reason at all.. After I got pregnant, the bigger I got they started getting along.. momma started gaining weight, nipples got bigger and started cleaning her like she did when she was a pup.. and it's been non stop since!

My lab mix wouldn't leave me alone and he would just sit and stare at me. It was irritating, I told him unless he could predict labor to get out of my face! Contractions started within 24 hrs. DH even said something about it.

my dog wouldn't leave my side when i was pg with my other kids, this time he is outdoors so he isn't around me much other than going out for his potty walks.

Lady_B 01-13-2012 02:47 PM

Dh would be totally fine if this was our last one. I know getting anymore would be negotiations out the wazoo lol. I'm gonna go back on the pill afterwards. We made it work for us for 4 years and both out babies were planned , this one just took longer to get.

As for pets my lab pretty much already thinks I'm incapable of taking care of dd so I'm sure he will fuss over the baby. The cat will try and lay on him like everyone else so I'll be watching him the most. And puppy dog (zuchon) is pretty clueless about life anyways I doubt he will notice lol. We got him when I was already pregnant do he will be surprised to see how much faster I am at catching him to put him in his cage lol. He is getting a hair cut as we speak. I pulled the "I'm about to have a baby soon please squeeze him in" line to get him in today lol.

Aaah, we got out of the house to the pet store (the kids love the pet store- our own ghetto zoo lol) and the bank, then went for a long drive. I always feel so much better if I can get out for a while. Now I am TIRED. I even had a cup of coffee, and I'm still tired! If it wasn't for my little dd I would be dead asleep right now. She is into everything though so I can't close my eyes for even a second.

Re: Winter wonders chat 1-13

AOTD: Probably is our last, that has always been the plan anyway. Dh wanted to get a V as soon as this one was born, but now he wants to wait. So, not sure if he is just scared or actually wants another deep down inside. We shall see, but this is most likely the last.

After DD was born, we waited 3 weeks to DTD again. Partly though because DH had to leave on a school trip when DD was 2 weeks and was gone until 3 weeks....otherwise it may have been sooner. But I didn't tear.

Lady_B 01-13-2012 06:03 PM

We waited 6 weeks to the day. Dh told me for a few days before "Saturday is 6 weeks....". But in his defensive we dtd the night he came back Iraq and the night he flew to Ohio. So he went 7 months with no lovin to some tease to 6 more weeks.

39 wks today. Just had my MW appt and everything looking good. Baby has def dropped (hb was found lower and I am now measuring 37 after measuring spot on all along) and MW was excited that she was in such a great position for birth. (No internal check, she said that really would tell us so little and I agree even though I am curious.)

Soooooo. . .come on baby! Let's get this party started! :lostit:
