I only use the latch on chairs. I had highchairs with my older 2 and still only used the latch on chairs, this time around I didn't waste my $$, It's by Chicco, really nice plus we take it with us.

DONT get the Baby Trend.

A friend gave me hers b/c she hated it. well, my dd is 15mo 30in and 19.75lbs. (iow, not a big kid but plenty tall)

the tray is STILL too high and now the waist straps are too short.:banghead: I can BARELY get them around her waist.

guess I'll be getting a new high chair......

i love the fisher price easy clean. it's height adjustable, reclines and you can put the straps and vinyl cover in the wash! plus there's two trays that are dishwasher safe. (even though they won't fit in my dishwasher!:banghead: )

stokke kinderzeat or the similar one (also wooden, simple) from one step aheadThis one

These are truly adjustable to give kids appropriate support at the pelvis and under the feet so they can sit up straight and be comfy. Most commercial high-chairs are really tough for a kid to get comfortable in since they are usually too long in the seat, tray too high, and feet just dangle.

The ones I mentioned usually need to just be pulled up to the family table. We have a formica-topped kitchen table, so at least it's really wipeable...

HTH!

I'll be watching this thread. DO NOT get the Evenflo Expressions

The tray that is supposed to cover and make easier clean up, doesn't, you'll still end up cleaning the whole thing so I threw that out, it doesn't store as it's supposed to, the cover doesn't cover the sides and food gets underneath it and stains the underside, it also rips very very easily! I hate it! the only thing decent is that it reclines in 3 positions, and it rolls (which is good because we have tile floors and eat in the living room.

Re: Favorite highchair?

We got a booster seat instead of a high chair and it works great for us. Our eating area is in the kitchen, and the booster takes up less space than a high chair (since it sits on a reg chair). It's plastic and every piece is washable with absolutely no crevices where food and grime can hide. When we are travelling, it folds up compactly and comes with us.
