If you have a doppler

Can you find the heart beat in more than one spot? Like put it on, find it, move it a few inches and still hear it? I'm just wondering if this is normal or if it might be 2 heart beats? I'm 19.5 wks and have been able to hear it in different spots both times I used my friends doppler at 15 wks and now at 19wks (wasn't feeling movement for a while so wanted to be re-assured). I mentioned it to my dr at my last appt and he said I was too small for it to be twins so he wouldn't look for a second...

Baby can move around and you can then hear the heartbeat at two different spots. I a little bit further along (35 weeks) but at my last appointment last week, the nurse would find the heartbeat on one side of my belly for a few seconds and LO would move and the nurse had to go on the opposite side to find it again.
At 19.5 weeks, you would think baby has still a lot of room to move around.

I am curious though: you haven't had an u/s yet? That would have told you about possibility of twins.

Thanks, that's what I was looking to hear :goodvibes:
I was interested because I can put it in one spot, hear it, move it to the other side and hear it again immediately and back and forth...you know, not like hearing it in one spot one day and another spot another day, kwim?

I haven't had a U/S, I have my anatomy scan in a couple of weeks

Are you sure you're hearing the baby's heartbeat and not your own or the placenta?

Yes, the baby's is in the 140-150's and I can find my own which is more in the 60's
