BF and pre AF symptoms

I am not sure this is the *best* place for this thread...

So I am 7 mo pp with my first baby, and still haven't had my first pp AF. One of my sisters didn't get her period until she quit bf or at least dropped down to fewer feedings (9 or 10 mo). My other sister got hers back sooner. I have been cramping a TON and a few weeks ago had super sensitive nipples for about 3 days (not so fun with a bf teething baby!).

Is it normal to have so much cramping before pp AF?

I don't know. It isn't normal for me as I don't get cramping with AF since I had my first baby. I have cramping with pregnancy/miscarriage. Are you sure you aren't pregnant? I would test to make sure.

I suppose there is always that possibility since no birth control is 100% effective. I've been really dizzy and extra hungry lately too, hmm. Now how to POAS with FMU without the hubby noticing...

I am hoping it's just an iron deficiency or something.

I get migraines and super super tired with anemia, not cramps. I am anemic right now, silly copper IUD.

Re: BF and pre AF symptoms

I JUST had my first ppAF. During ovulation, I had abdominal pain for a full week that I have never felt before. I was wondering if I had a bladder infection or something (never had one so I don't know what that feels like). I also had sore nipples and thought the dreaded thrush was creeping back into my life. Then, the abdominal pain slowly started to change into the familiar cramping and it dawned on me what it actually was. I was surprised to not get my period over the next few days, but now realize that it all must have been ovulation. I also had a dip in supply during that time, too. When my period did come, I had a migraine the night before, and some mild, normal cramps after starting. Ovulation was much more dramatic than actual AF! lol Long story short, you may have been ovulating when you had the sore nipples.
