Best insert

I have two diff types of cloth diapers, ones with snaps and ones with hooks, but they both use an insert. I bought mine second hand and the girl before me (took amazing care of these things and) used microfiber cloths as inserts. They fold into fourths and for the most part are very effective. However my kids go a LOT at night and a diaper change turns into two baths and a load of laundry daily. We need a better insert!! Any suggestions?

I am getting ready to Order some Geffen Baby inserts that are hemp and cotton. I have only heard great things about them

Geffen baby are great but pricey. Are you using pockets? Maybe try prefolds you can get them used cheap if you buy locally.

Pockets, yes. The ones at my local walmart do NOT look as though they would do anything to absorb much. They nearly look like thick cheese cloth, they are gerber brand.

Gerber aren't really the best prefolds they are a gauze material. Try prefolds or even a flat that you pad fold cottonbabies has free shipping. Also osocozy brand is sold on amazon or diapers.com(they regularly have 20% off coupons). But what you want are either Chinese or Indian prefold or Birdseye flat. Also in the meantime if your babies aren't too small receiving blankets can be pretty absorbent and cheap to pad fold as inserts

Wouldnt blankets be bulky. My kids wear 18-24 months.

Receiving blankets aren't bulky, they are just one layer of flannel and small in size.
