Re: Why are some people so anti when they should be for it??
When my kids were in daycare I always made sure she had plenty of diapers and wipes! One dcp provided the wipes and we only provided the dipes. Plus they both always reminded me LONG before I was out so there was never a time they didn't have a days worth, and even on a tight budget you have put diapers (whether cloth or sposies) in there!
I definatly do NOT understand why she would insist on you not to using CDs at your house. It would save her money and not effect her at all! Weird!! Personally, and I answered this when you ask a long time ago, I would just use CDs at your house and send her home in sposies. Have her keep sending diapers as you would normally use them and build up a supply so you don't have to worry about it later if she forgets sposies again. I know its easier said than done but you're already on your way if she'll go #2 in there for you!
Oh I just remembered! My ex-dcp told me there were times she saw kids come to her house in the morning in the same diaper SHE sent them home in! She often puts the kids' initials on the diapers for changing time with lots of little ones and saw the initials on there the next day! ICK!!! That is disgusting!

Hopefully it's just a bad bad week and she'll go back to normal next week. (hugs)

I love this idea! I realize money troubles but COME ON! This is your CHILD you are talking about! I can't believe that she gave you those hand wipes to use on the tush. WTH??!?!?

I agree to raise your rates (my daycare does it every year around this time) and for sure, put that baby in some cloth. 3 diapers for 10 hours. AS IF!

Oh! I've got some Sassy Turtle Covers that I'll send you too, they've been used a bit...but still look brand spanking new. I've also got a mountain of prefolds that I can spare. I'm all into sewing Honeyboys for my monkey so we're not reaching for these anymore. He wore one yesterday to go swimming in. (FYI, not a good idea...the PUL just held onto the water inside. DUH me...)

I also agree that there are a lot of people out there that just don't understand that CDing today isn't at all like it was 15-20 years ago. I'm allegric to polyster and so was never able to use the disposible ones as a baby and my dear old mother CDed me...(this was in 1975-1978)...then my little sister came along and she's able to use the disposibles, so Mom welcomed the ease. Now I'm 31, she's 29. She's had all kinds of problems with her "girl parts" including many surgeries to freeze her cervix and is thought to have some kind of cancer there now. It's so scary. Me, I'm fine. Still using cloth.

Is it any surprise to people that when disposible diapers where introduced, we where all babies right? Now, men our age are having to take Viagra? Woman are having booty troubles too. Has anyone thought this might be from them disposible diapers? Boy I have.

Let me know on the diapers. PM me Momma. This just burns me up that anyone would treat their child this way. I'll pay shipping if you promise to use them. :lemmeathim:

Re: Why are some people so anti when they should be for it??
I'm not going to say anything about the time... Truthfully, there are some kids that would be fine with that. Both of mine hold up and pee a lot. At two, my DD was using the toilet most of the time and going probably four hours between visits (she just didn't need to go). At four, we have to force her on to the toilet every 4-6 hours. Even if she doesn't need to go. That's just they way she is.

That said, if the dipe is wet and the mom refuses to change it, that is just wrong. My SIL does that though. She will not change the diapers until they are "heavy" enough. This means they are so full of pee they are falling to their knees. Ewww! She will usually change a poopy diaper sooner but even that is not necessarily an immediate thing.

As for why people are so anti, I wish I knew. My MIL is very anti... She has offered to buy all of my diapers if I'll just switch to 'sposies. *sigh*
