S/O why only blue dawn for stripping?

I always read about stripping with blue dawn. Why that soap specifically? What is so magical about it? Can other dish soaps be used? I use a free/clear one from Target. Is it gonna ruin diapers, or mysteriously not strip them at all?

I cannot remember exactly why Blue Dawn is suggested, but just about any dish soap will be fine. I'm sure there's ones to avoid, but maybe someone on here will know.

frankly I don't like dawn at all it causes massive sudding and build up here. We can't even use it on our dishes because it jsut does not rinse. I've found major stripping of diapers un necessary. I'll on occasion ru na DEEP clean where I'll use a FULL amount of detergent and full recomended bleach and then ru na fewe etra jsut water cycles to really rinse. I mostly do this before storing diapers away.

I have become allergic to the scent of Dawn, so I use 7th generation free and clear. I haven't noticed ANY difference compared to when I used to use Dawn, except that I don't end up with itchy eyes and sneezing! ;)

Bc it's made from unicorn tears;)

:giggle: idk but I've washed diapers in it for over 6 years with no stains, stink or buildup so I'm sticking with it

Yes, that is correct :)

I use any dish soap. I think blue dawn is suggested because it has the most grease fighting power (which is good for cutting through all the stuff that needs to be stripped).

:lostit:

it is used to de-drease wildlife after oil spills, so i believe people perceive it to be extra special, though i used palmolive to get desitin out of cloth and it worked fine. I have actually not ever "stripped" in 4 years though!

Oh and yeah, I've only had to strip twice. Once when we tried a sample of Rockin Green & then when we moved to a house with soft water. Those times I used Palmolive and some other Dawn.
