here ya go Cheli~a sorta rosie-posie folded flat on Aiden

For those reading that don't know the rosie-posie flat fold here's the link to that... http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...9&postcount=14

I followed the directions for that fold with my Little Lions flats (roughly 27x29) but when compared to an xs bg AIO it seemed to long...
http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...e2d312cf00.jpg

so I tweaked it a bit and came up with this comparison...
http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...2e0efac940.jpg

here's how I did it...

first I folded both sides in instead of just folding in half. I figured it gives more ability to adjust acording to what your baby needs by either overlapping or leaving a bit of a gap...
http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...9563d32272.jpg

then I folded a bit of the length down in the back because just folding in half would still result in too long of a rise on my guy...
http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...ff62d516c2.jpg

next I folded the bottom up to the rise I needed...
http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...fe3bfca12e.jpg

the rest I followed exactly like the rosie-posie fold by basically trifolding, but creating a wing with one layer...

http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...600376a249.jpg

here is the finished result on Aiden... (sorry Cheli, I tried with a snappi but I am a snappi moron and am 100% more confident with pins!! )
http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...ac4d67fcf5.jpg

and a side view...
http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...1f3bfeda24.jpg

it didn't turn out as snug as I'd like, so I'm thinking the rise was still a bit long, and he did have a bit of a "butt wing" issue, but it did all fit under a small swaddlebees ABC wrap (which I didn't get a picture of, because Ava took off with the camera and Aiden was DONE modeling!!)

Hope that helps!!

...oh, and sorry for making you turn your head to the side to see the pictures right...I was already uploading when I realized I forgot to rotate them and was too lazy to start over :bagoverhead:

It looks simple enough and like a great fit! However my issue has been that once I have it all ready and I bring the middle up, the wings are "short" how the heck can that be?

I folded the oppposite way as the rosie-posie says to fold (if that makes sense) when you start out. ummm...how do I explain... instead of my flat being laid the long way (up and down) I laid it wide (side to side) which gave me a couple extra inches to work with. Also when you go to secure it on the baby, don't just pull the wings around. If you pull upwards and out a bit and twist a little (inwards to keep the butt wings to a minimum) it gives you a bit more length to work with.

(did any of that make sense??)

Yes it did. I'll have to try tomorrow when my models are in better moods

it's kinda fun Randie, but with 3 in diapers right now I don't feel like I have time for fun. And I'm a little rusty at it. Although I sorta wish I had some muslin flats to try it with cuz they just look soooooo soft and smushy!!! But I DO NOT need to be shopping for more "fun" diapers!!! I need practical. (and DH gets all pissy every time I pull out my flats like, "aw crap, she's not gonna make me start doing that, is she?" ) :giggle2:

Cheli- I'm glad you understood that, cuz I went back and read it and was like, "what language am I speaking??"

Also it'll make a huge difference when you have a flat that is the right size and shape to work with, cuz your recieving blanket has a good 10 extra inches on it in only one direction. plus if it's flannel, it really doesn't have any stretch. not that LL flats have a lot, but it seems to have a bit more give to it than flannel.

(I may have to pull out my old "random fabric" flat stash tomorrow, cuz this was fun :) )
