frozen food ?

We bought my grandparent's house in October and I'm just now getting to cleaning out the deep freezer  they left A LOT of stuff they didn't want to have to mess with (closets full of stuff, garage full of junk!); and a freezer full of food was one of those things.
So since it's been so long should I just toss everything? I found some stuffed pepper labeled "5-09", but not much else has dates. How long does stuff last in the freezer?
TIA

I would thaw it out and see what it looks like. If it has been packaged well and stayed frozen solid, I've found things to be just fine long after the "recommended" time. My mom cooked a roast the other day for us that was 10/07 and it was yummy!

If you're talking safety, so long as they're well packaged and have kept frozen the whole time, they're still safe. The quality of it however can suffer in the long term. I second PP saying try thawing it and see how it is.

I was just talking with my mom this evening and she said pork only lasts 6 months before it's quality/taste becomes compromised.
