Favorite Appetizers

I'm looking for some different appetizers to serve up when the gals come over to chat. I've got the ol' basics: chips and salsa, salami w/ cream cheese and peppers, bowl of grapes or nuts, etc.... I'd love to serve something with a little more "wow" than a slice of cheese coupled with a butterfly shaped cracker, or a lil' smokie drowning in a crockpot of jam and bbq sauce. Thanks!!

I haven't made this yet, but a girlfriend swears by this one.

This recipe makes 30 delicious Stuffed Wontons. Prepare muffin tins with nonstick spray. Line each muffin cup with one wonton. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.

While that is baking, combine the following ingredients:
1 cup ranch dressing
1 small can chopped black olives
1 chopped red pepper
1 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 1/2 cup shredded Colby cheese

Add filling to each cup.
Bake for 5-7 minutes more at 275 degrees.

What about some spinach artichoke dip, you know, the hot cheese-y kind?

How about brie baked with puff pastry, or maybe Buffalo Chicken dip ... either one served with a baguette?

I love this super simple artichoke dip... 4 ingredients.

1 can quartered artichoke hearts, drained
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1/2 cup of mayo
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese (don't use the jarred kind, won't work right.)

Mix all together in a shallow baking dish, bake on 350 for about 25 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden. Serve with crackers or baguette pieces. Or if you guests are like my extended family, just forks. They eat it plain because they like it so much.

Yeah, it is so easy but my family seems to go nuts over it. I have to make it for every single family gathering. You'd think I didn't know how to make anything else.

Here is a crazy easy and delicious non-spicy bean salsa:

1 can black eyed peas
1 can corn
1 can black beans
1 can pinto beans
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 chopped onion

Dressing
1/2 cup vegetable or olive oil
3/4 cup cider vinegar
3/4 cup sugar
1 t salt
Dash of pepper
1 T water

Rinse and drain all the canned items. Bring dressing ingredients to a boil and pour over mixed beans and veggies. Refrigerate and drain before serving.

We usually serve with tortilla chips or Fritos corn chips, although my ILs like to just eat it with a fork! :)
