of having a certain sex? Dh really wants a boy. I wanted to know if there is something I can do to help this along?

you can chart your cycle and get a good knowledge of when you ovulate. As I have read girl sperm are slower and live longer, boy sperm swim faster but die faster, so if you DTD farther from the day you ovulate, you are more likely to have a girl because the boy sperm would have died off and the girlys would still be swimming. If you want a boy, hold off on DTD until right before you ovulate to ensure a fast boy swimmer will get the egg. :giggle:

Keep in mind it's DH who determines what ya get :)

Also, I believe it's 50:50 chance... whether you "plan" the sex of the baby w/all the methods out there or not... :giggle:

Yup, if you really want a boy then I suggest you try to hold off and BD on the day that you O. I did that, though, and didn't end up with a boy. :) I answered your other post, so my reasoning is there, too, LOL.

DTD right at O time and that has gotten me 2 boys. I'm going for a girl this time, so I'm going to be DTD 3 days before O to try to get one. Shettles has a great book that explains the timing thing. You can also do supplements and diet to make your body/cervical mucous more acidic for girls/alkaline for boys and that's supposed to help, too. Good luck!!

I have read the shettles book about trying within 24 hours of O for a boy, earlier for a girl. It sounds plausible, but my dr. doesn't believe it...he says your chances are still close to 50/50. My dh wants a boy this time, too. I am 28 weeks and we don't know the gender, so we'll see....
