August 2010 Babies- Checking In!

Hey August mamas and babies! How is everyone doing?

Now that our LOs are nearing the 5-6 month mark lets check in on each other.

How big is your LO now, and how big was he/she at birth?
Have they met any big milestones and when?
Planning any other LOs in the future?
Have a recent picture you'd like to share?

:goodvibes:

How big is your LO now, and how big was he/she at birth? Elias had his 6 month checkup last week (at 6.5 months old) and he now weighs 19lbs 4oz and is 27in long. He was 5lbs 13oz and 18in at birth.
Have they met any big milestones and when? The only milestone Elias has mastered is the use of his hands. He loves to chew on his hands, play with toys in his exersaucer, and pull his sisters' hair. He has yet to roll over or be able to sit up (even with minimal assistance) and will be starting physical therapy this week.
Planning any other LOs in the future? As much as I said I was done in the beginning, I am ready for another LO already. I just had to process everything I went through (bedrest, hospital birth, preemie newborn, colicy/refluxy baby). Now that it is in the past I am hoping it won't be relived, and in order to try and insure the best chances of having a homebirth again, I am going to wait a few more months before actually TTC. I need to have my gallbladder removed, and hopefully lose around 40-60lbs. I'm aiming to be TTC by July (when Elias is 12 months old).
Have a recent picture you'd like to share? We got Elias' 6 month photos done a couple of weeks ago and this was our favorite one:

I'm here, just don't check in all that often. :goodvibes:

DD's 6 month check up isn't scheduled until March! She'll be just over 7 months old at that point, but whatever. She is a big baby, but I don't have stats. She is comfortably in 9 month clothes.

She is rolling over like crazy now. Put her down on her back and within seconds she will have flipped onto her tummy. I have seen her flip tummy to back a few times, but she doesn't do it routinely yet, so she will flip to her tummy and play for a bit and then get MAD about being on her tummy. It is funny. She will sit with help, and just this past week has started being able to sit without help, but only for 5ish seconds at a time.

Other kids... probably not. I still am not ready to say 100% for sure we are done, but I would say 95% sure. I am trying to enjoy the baby stage as much as possible since this will probably be it for us.

Violet is 5 months old.
She was 7lbs 9oz and 21 inches at birth. She had her 4 month check up a couple of weeks ago and was 12 lbs 13 oz, and 24.5 inches. She's probably somewhere around 13 lbs now, and by my measurements, around 25 inches. She's a peanut :giggle: but she's growing well. She's in 3-6 month clothes still. She'd doing great with her hands: she loves playing with her toys and taking off her socks and legwarmers! I've been putting her in tights under her clothes so she doesn't get cold. It's been sooo cold and snowy here this winter.

Have they met any big milestones and when?
She's been rolling over inconsistently for about a month. Last night she rolled over back-to-front for the first time - I'm curious as to when we'll see that one again! She's not yet sitting on her own.

Planning any other LOs in the future?
We might start thinking about it this summer.

This was taken last week during playtime. She loves this little quilt and grabs at all the colors.

Graham is just turing 5 months and he's just starting to roll from back to belly today! He loves to grab at things and is really finding his voice. He's still in 3-6 month clothes but can wear some 9 mo. I can't upload to photobucket tonight.. what's another easy way to upload?

Yes, we'd love one more. Maybe this spring/summer. I'd really love to lose some of this baby weight first. (and sleep a bit more!)

Thanks, Heather! Your little Elias is adorable!

s2Grace, lol about Graham finding his voice! Violet joyfully shrieks away - she can be quite loud! and earsplitting. She's my little screamapillar.

How big is your LO now, and how big was he/she at birth? I'm pretty sure Noelle wins the peanut awards :giggle2: She was 3 lbs 15 oz & 17.75" at birth, 10 lbs 2 oz and 22" at 6 months
Have they met any big milestones and when? Noelle has discovered her hands, mouth and that everything should go in the mouth :giggle2: Food is fascinating to her, she dive bombs your food if you try to eat or drink something while holding her. Still not rolling over or close to sitting up. I'm undecided if I want to do a ECSE eval or not.
Planning any other LOs in the future? Nope, had my tubes tied w/ Noelle's c-section  It was a hard decision, but my body was telling me it's done. It took over 2-years and 11 months of $$$ treatments at our RE just to get pregnant with her. Then I spent most of the pregnancy on bedrest in & out of the hospital on a whole cocktail of drugs. Just can't do it again with 4-little kids who need me at home :(
Have a recent picture you'd like to share? Love these pics, she's such a happy baby
