where do you buy your work clothes?

I am starting back at work (after 9 years!) April 11th. I have NO clothes that are appropriate for work. I have some tattoos like on my chest and arm and I prefer not to show them so I need some very modest clothes but still fashionable and affordable. Any suggestions?

I really did find some nice things at TJ Max. But it seemed to add up fast. I got two pairs of dress pants, a sweater, a blouse, a pull over sweater, a sweater dress and a pair of leggings for just over $100. I guess that's not too bad, but I'm a thrifty mama, so it killed me. lol

I found blouses for $5 on clearance at Kmart. They also had dress shoes on clearance for $6.99.

And like I mentioned in the other post, I got a bunch of things at the goodwill. Dress pants and about 15 sweaters. lol I couldn't pass up that price.

I like to shop at Ann Taylor Loft and Gap...I dont have to get too dressed up for work. I am also really loving Talbots, but it's a little spendy for me.
Good luck with your new job!

I am super frugal so this might not work for you but I do buy my work/personal clothes at Good Will. A lot of newer styles to me are not conservative enough for work so even if I had the money I think I would still shop at Good Will. I live near one that is an "outlet" store Good Will. All shirts or pants are $1.50 and skirts are $1. All the time I find things that are new with tags on them, last week I got a black skirt (it had been clearance at JC Penny for $7) and a pair of khaki shorts (had been marked $32) for $2.
