JuneBirds 2010 April Chatter

Wow...It's April 3 and no one has started a thread yet?

Everyone must be busy, busy, busy!

I have to take the kids to town today to grab some things for the dog and hopefully a new shirt or something for myself. The ones I wore most frequently are now full of holes and grease stains (:headscratch:) from the washing machine.

Hope everyone is well. :goodvibes:

LOL I have no concept of time.
I am not any busier than usual, just wallowing in self-loathing right now. I. need. to. lose. weight. well, no eff? Then why am I TTC (as in we just did the OPKs and DTD all week). Now I am afraid I got pg and if I didn't I don't want to DTD anymore until I lose weight :banghead: :hide:  That is all :yuck:

:hugs: Jul, you know I think March/April are the months for bad feelings, in my experience. They are always the lowest, worst months for me.

Even if you got pregnant you can still be at a healthy weight during the pregnancy. :hugs: You just wouldn't end up gaining as much, if I can recall my Hypnobabies nutritional info correctly.

I've been a big ball of pity the past few days (check out my accidental post yesterday in the March thread). I'm angry, resentful, lacking any sort of feel-goodness about myself and disappointed that I didn't do as well on an assignment as I was expecting. The assignment was good. This prof just doesn't like either me, or my writing style. :yuck:

I concur that march/april and just downer months.

Dh is working 6 days a week midnight to noon, sleeping all day, we never see him, the kids are turning into the children of satan and I'm going absolutely bonkers. They are CONSTANTLY screaming or crying and I just can't stand it anymore. I'm TIRED of being dirt poor, I'm TIRED of being just a housewife (WHICH I TOTALLY SUCK AT) and I"m TIRED of meaning absolutely nothing to anyone. DH is trying so hard, but what can he do when he is gone 14 - 16 hours a day because of work?

Jul I didn't gain anything with Henna until the last little bit and that was only like 8 lbs - so you could be pregnant and still get in shape :)

I'll BBL the screaming is getting to a deafening level.

gosh mer, I could have written your post! I don't have the best self esteem on a good day and now that Hana is losing weight (which is AWESOME) I am feeling down bc before he ate so much crap that the amount of junk I ate looked "normal". Now he is not touching really any of the junk, so I am feeling guilty. PLUS <rant> he works out every day (or at least 6 days a week). He makes the time for it...oh yeah, bc he's not the mom! I don't deny him that bc he needs to lose about 100 lbs to my 60 or so, but i still feel resentful at times which makes me more of a bish. he's working for my dad about 6 hrs a day then comes home, eats, showers then puts in 4-5 hrs at target. so i get overwhelmed but he can't do anything abt it. i just wish he cld work 1 job and we had the boys FT. :(
jess, i did read ur post in the other thread :hugs:
as for me getting pg, I know. i didn't gain a lot with K, but I haven't lost in months. I just have fallen into the old habits of eating junk bc I am STARVING all the time and tired bc I don't sleep, so I drink too much cherry coke for the sugar high.
<I actually came back in here to delete my pitiful post > gotta go, he is being a bit needy

I usually just do plain chamomilla tablets. And now they took the hylands off the market bc of the belladonna which is asinine in my opinion. but I keep forgetting to do anything, lol.

So my friend who has chickens sold me some eggs- 6 1/2 doz on WEDNESDAY and we have already had eaten 3 doz  I made egg salad and the 2 kids that are here, Hana and K have been eating scrambled eggs every day! It's Kailani's 1st time with eggs and he LOVED them. Hana has never had farm eggs and it's been a few yrs for the kids and the difference is huge! So, they are eating fresh, organic, free range eggs, beautiful orange yolks and all :D

Oh, let us know how the fair is! What are you going to wear Levi in?

I know everyone else's babies have been climbing the stairs and he really didn't try or notice til the past few days. And we have the ones he could fall through. But he likes the climb the 1st few (the ones that aren't open to the basement) and yell up there (he always thinks the boys are here somewhere) :giggle2:

DH has made sushi before, years ago. I should get him making us some veggie. :yum:
I think we still have hyland's here? :headscratch:
:yum: about the farm eggs, too!! Love fresh farm eggs!!

The fair was all right. Not as many things out to walk around and look at as there usually is - the economy being bad maybe :headscratch: - but the kids had fun, Levi loved the animals, and they got to see the 'superdogs'. I was feeling really horrid so Levi was in the stroller while we walked around, in my arms to see and pet some animals, and then I used Tamara's BH for the evening show when DH took everything out to the van.
Still  the BH, btw. I'm waiting on our tax return to come and then I'm going to (finally!) pick one out and get my own... and send poor Tamara's back to her! :hide:

Levi has tried climbing the stairs a few times. He got up one or 2 in the basement and then fell down to the floor when he tried to climb back. :( He knows now that he will fall and so just yells when he gets up and wants down, lol. One time he made it all the way up the flight of stairs - I was right beside him for the most part, just in case, but I figured I might as well let him go.

From this one! :)

I managed to find a few new shirts for myself at value village yesterday  Good luck!

Jessica and Mer are right - there's no reason you can't stay healthy during a pregnancy and end up losing weight. No reason not to TTC!

:hugs: I saw that post. :( I'm sorry you're feeling down. I think kids have a skewed perspective at times and maybe this is a hard/down time for them? My kids have been much the same the past couple weeks. We need spring and they need to be able to get outside and ride bikes and whatnot. Unfortunately we woke up this morning to a blizzard. :yuck:

More :hugs: Jul. No worries about a pity post! Sometimes we all need them! :)

AFM: We have been so darn busy! Yeesh, I can't wait for school to be back in and everyone to have to go! We just had something to do every day for the whole break. Ah well. Yesterday was a total bust. We took Ruth to her bday party, that was fine. But when we got to town, all ready for taxes, they said (while laughing :banghead:) they were about 2hrs behind and would call us as soon as they were ready for our appt. It was supposed to be at 5:30. They called us at 7:10... when we were all ready on the way home because we had to pick her up. :gah:
DH and I ended up figuring it out and doing it ourselves online (which ended up saving us $100!). But I will be writing a complaint letter to them about it. They were so flippant about it, like it was no big deal for us to sit around and wait 2hrs past an appt time with 3 little kids - never mind that Ruthie wasn't even there.

Oh yeah, and there was a big snowstorm/blizzard last night and all morning. It's still right around freezing though, so the roads are starting to melt/clear now. I have no idea what's going to happen tomorrow for school - although DH has all ready called a sub for himself because our driveway has a few feet of snow it in that he'll have to clear out before we can get out! Oy!
Hopefully that's it for... spring?!

Yikes Elena! It's going to be 80 here tomorrow and then 58 the rest of the week, I think. tonight we had a bit of a thunderstorm, mostly lightning, very little rain.
I would totally complain about the tax people! 2 hrs is too long for ME, much less the ittys! We did ours online with the IRS (taxact) and they find us money they owe us that hana wouldn't have thought of so

Funny, it seems like spring break should be the less hectic time, not the time when you need them back in school so it slows down, lol. My kids don't have spring break til the week of Good Friday. I am planning on decorating eggs with them and the babe and doing a lot of hiking.

Ok, I am over the whining about my fat a.., lol.

I have to tell you all something Kailani did that we are still laughing about. The other day, in bed, I was shirtless as usual and to be funny, Hana pretended to nurse. Kailani was PISSED! he wasn't even trying to nurse but as soon as he saw Hana coming for me, he would put his head in between my chest and hana's head! Every time! And then the next day, K and I were wrestling on the carpet and hana crawled over to play fight and he was pretending to fight me (we were giggling and stuff the way we "fight" with Kailani, so it was nothing for him to be concerned about) and Kailani immediately put himself between us, headbutting him and using his hand to push him away. It made Hana very happy to see little man protecting his mama (even from him, lol).

well, the boys have off tomorrow for teacher workday, and I am hoping this storm sticks around so that hana has off....but if not, the boys and I will go on a hike, do some of our Easter devotion book and a few other things that I have totally blanked on now, oops.

Elena - I would of pitched an ever loving fit about them running 2 hours behind! So glad you got them done though. We haven't gotten Henna's birth certificate yet so we have no SSN for her so I'm not sure how we are going to deal with our taxes.

I'm not too bummed about DH being so busy, it's the sleeping that is annoying. Not that I don't think he should sleep but it's hard to explain to a toddler and a 10 month old that even though daddy's in the next room they can't see him EVER. It makes home life difficult and the fact that our house is about 800 sq ft doesn't leave a lot of room for him to find a spot out of the way.

My visit with my mom was pretty good - she had a couple breakdowns, she's always on me that the house isn't clean in the pictures - laundry is folded but not put away toys are laying on the floor yadda yadda...yeah her tune has changed. I have ONE closest that is 3 feet wide by 1 foot deep - that's it. She cried because I have no space to put anything, and because the housing here is so damn small, and that Brian wants to be around but can't and how the kids are just so good but take up so much time...basically everything that is my reality no one believed...and then she came and lived it. She also visited some of my friends houses, no one has closets here so everything is "put away" in tubs or boxes and stacked. Oiy life in Britain. My dad and sister come next week - I get along with my mom alright (minus the I suck at housewife thing that drives her crazy) but my dad and I do not do well - so we will see what happens.

AFH: She can say mama really well, and babas when she actually see's DH. She's starting to get a bit of a tude, when she realizes that I know what she wants but won't give it to her she pitches a bit of a fit...for instance those itty bitty popsicles, I give her one now and then to help with her teeth and she loves them and always goes to the freezer for another and I just tell her no and she starts screaming. She also is starting to be a bit pushy with her sister - for instance if she has a toy and Zaylee tries to take it Henna will in fact attack her and try to bite her....I'm at a total loss with her somedays. Zaylee has also taught Henna how to scream and Zaylee with scream then Henna will scream louder and then Zaylee with scream louder and then Henna and so on and so forth....Lord beer me strength.

It was in the high 30's last week - which was wonderful for us, though still below seasonal - but then this storm hit Sat/Sun. Yikes. The kids still have school today, but with the driveway full we're effectively snowed in, so DH called a sub last night and got everything prepared for that. We'll call the gas station this morning and hopefully get them to clear us out. And hopefully that's it for the storms and we can get on to spring now.

I am definitely going to write and complain - I just need to get past being really angry so that I don't say things too rash/harsh. It was with H&R Block, and we ended up doing them online through their own website, so we still ended up "using" them. I'm not against them as a whole, and I actually really like the guy we should have gotten in to see, but just the way they were running things at that office was not okay.
We had one problem with them a few years ago, too. We couldn't get in to see our guy (he's done our taxes ever since we moved here, so now we've missed him twice) and had gotten a quick appt with another lady - she was horrid, complaining to us about the other people working in that office, calling the secretary very rude names, and to top it off she actually missed over $300 of refund for us! (after we complained they had our guy look over the return and he found the missed $$)
Anyways, they handled our complaint well - they actually called and spoke to me, apologized for her behaviour and said she had been spoken to and reprimanded, gave us a refund for the fees we'd paid and sent us coupons for a free tax return the next year. So, I want to complain about this as well - like I said, being behind sucks, but it should have all been handled differently and certainly they shouldn't have been laughing about it. It was not a funny situation for us - we'd planned things specifically so that we could get everything (receipts and all) to get taxes done during DHs break, never mind planning a trip to town specifically for this appt which means gas $$ and a meal for all of us - and then not to get it done at all?!! :banghead: Yeah, definitely not funny!

I was hoping for a real break for spring break, but ah well. Just ended up being really busy for us this year. Most years we do nothing all week and just have the fair on the Friday.
We won't have a really "down" easter either - my parents are flying in on the Wednesday before (20th) :yay: I can't wait to see them, and it'll be the first time they'll meet Levi! DH and I know, so we can get things ready around the house, but the kids have no idea. :) On Easter Sunday we'll do all the egg hunt and whatnot, probably go to church and lunch, then the kids and I are going to go to the city with my parents - they fly out Monday morning early, but we'll get to stay and play (swim) at the hotel with them and then I'll make my way home on Monday with the kids. We normally don't have the Monday off, but they planned 2 inservice days for Mon and Tues!

:roflmbo: Loving that story!!! Too funny!!!!

We were not pleased at all. But I won't repeat everything I just typed, lol. :)

I'm so glad to hear that things went well with your mom's visit! I've been wondering how it all worked out. Good luck with your dad - hopefully he'll be so busy lovin on the girls there won't be time for any discord?

:giggle: Levi's still saying "mum-mum" for me, I'm glad to hear he's not the only "babas" for dada! None of our other kids said it, they all just did "dada".
And I so kwym about pitching a fit! Levi's got quite the temper when he gets angry... which is really any time he doesn't get exactly what he wants when he wants it, lol.

AFM: The guy is here clearing the driveway right now -
Although DH had to use a sick day for today I'm glad he did. We didn't get any time to get groceries last week, so we'll be able to go in tonight (Isaac and Ruth have dance anyways) for that. One of us will do dance, the other will go for groceries. Should work out.

Babas is greek for daddy so both girls call DH that, and we call my mom Yai Yai and my dad Papouse

Glad your DH took a sick day....why don't mom's get sick days? I'm still trying to figure that one out :giggle:
