blowdrying at changes

If you blow dry at every diaper change what is your routine? How do you keep from startling your child?

I did this when DS was a newborn. I wiped and then turned the dryer on away from him. He loved it.

I do this now when my son is reeeeeally rashy form his daycare disposables and just before bed. I don't do it every change but I do keep a few dry washcloths to pat his bum dry with after a diaper change. He has always been very sensitive to wetness and this seems to help.

We always blowdry our newborns (and use cotton swans with plain warm water). We just turn the dryer on low and slowly point it to baby's bum. My kids never seemed startled.
