Need Hamburger/Ground Beef Recipes!!!
Hi mamas! So DH is vegetarian, so we really don't do much with meat (when I buy hamburger, we usually have hamburgers one night (veggieburgers for DH), meatloaf/baked potatoes/salad the next and that's usually about it). I just bought 10 lbs. of hamburger on clearance because it was on clearance and because my brother and my BIL are living with us right now and I almost never have leftovers anymore! I need some recipes to try that everyone (or almost everyone, I'm not against making DH something *special*) will like. I want to try some new things. I just found a recipe for Hamburger Stroganoff that I want to try. But other than that, all I can come up with are what I always do.
So, PLEASE share your favorite recipes that have hamburger meat in them! TIA!!! |
Spaghetti. Easy to make vegetarian just leave out the meat or meatballs in the sauce.

I brown the ground beef, add a can of salsa, can of corn and serve it over rice. Yum! I also make a "Taco Bake." I brown the ground beef with green peppers and onions, add a can of tomatoes, sometimes corn, and a packet of taco seasoning. Then I mix together a cornbread mix, spread it on top and bake according to the cornbread directions.

The mexican dishes sound yummy! I'm going to try those.
I made the stroganoff last night and it was (mostly) a big hit! So that used up about 2 lbs., so I'm going to try some mexican over the next few days. Thanks for the ideas! |

I make a triple batch of these in an afternoon and freeze in individual bags (go to the browning step and then freeze them partially cooked). When I'm ready to use them I dump in the frozen balls, tomato soup, and water. The kids LOVE them! Lazy mom's lasagna -- In a pan, layer browned meat (I sometimes add garlic or garlic powder and chopped onions) whatever veggie you want to add (asparagus, broccoli, or zucchini work well -- cut into chunks, and sometimes I blanch or partially steam first, but not all the way) noodles (whatever you have on hand, even spaghetti) then a mixture of cottage cheese or ricotta, pesto, and parmesan Top with a jar of sauce (homemade or store bought) Shredded Mozzarella and if you're feeling fancy some garlic & herb mrs. dash (or whatever seasonings you like) Bake on 300 ish till the mozzarella is melted/bubbly. Chili http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/...8-1654640c7525 (you can use any baking mix, even a homemade one) |

My DH and boys love sloppy joes. Brown your ground beef (I used 1lb, but you can easily double or triple this), drain grease, add a bottle of Heinz Chili sauce and a squirt of yellow mustard. That's it. Serve on hamburger buns. We don't usually have any leftovers from this, my family loves them and it is super easy to throw together.
I serve mine with sweet potato fries and a salad or fruit. |
