Confused about eggs
I've got the recommended foods to introduce at the various months from wholesomebabyfood.com and it says egg yolks at 8-10m. I thought whites were the healthy part. I just boiled up some organic brown eggs to try to offer DD some new finger foods, but which part to give???

Re: Confused about eggs
The whites are usually what people are allergic to, thats why they say you cann give the yolk.

Re: Confused about eggs
Really? Interesting! I always thought the whole thing was an allergen and the yolks were just not recommended due to the cholesterol.
So, should I hold off on introducing them just to be safe? DD's 1 y/o--no known food allergies in our family. |
Re: Confused about eggs
I would hold off my ds is 16 months and eggs still give him the worst poops.:yuck:

Re: Confused about eggs
The egg yolks are really good for the little ones. Mine enjoyed them the best if I mashed them with a fork and mixed them with a little breastmilk.

Re: Confused about eggs
I did egg yolks around ten months, Ds loved them, nice easy lunch with some cheese and bread and butter.

Re: Confused about eggs
Our old pedi tried to get me to give dd scrambled eggs at 6 months old, No way, I'm allergic to eggs and was way too afraid to give them to her. I started giving scrambled eggs to her at 15 months, she's done well with them.
