Washable Nursing Pads

Hi Ladies. I'm gearing up for my second and looking for some good quality washable nursing pads. I'd prefer to avoid using the disposables as much as possible, but don't really know where to start looking. I had some washables from DS that I happened upon on the clearance shelf at the supermarket but god knows what the brand was, and they were okay for the 6+ months stage, but definitely wouldn't hold up to those first few months.

Any insights and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Motherease makes wonderful nursing pads. My favourite are the bamboo - they're soft, contoured and PUL backed. I leaked like a fire hydrant those first few weeks and never had a leak with them!

I use some that were the Gerber NUK brand, but it's like $7 for 3 pairs so I made my own! I used this website tutorial. It wasn't hard and I didn't spend any money. The perk to making your own is you can make them as thick as you'd like. They're not PUL backed or anything, but I haven't leaked through them yet.

I always preferred contoured because they stay in place well and are less noticeable. I make contoured nursing pads that hold up very well over time. My most popular are with wool on the outer and bamboo velour on the inside. I recommend the ones with wool interlock for heavy leaks and the wool jersey for regular flow. The pics are some that I have right now in my shop.

I just bought some yesterday from The Nappy Shoppe. They had both PUL backed and bamboo / velour and even some dyed blue and purple.
